Your taste in movies sucks.

Wow, this thread took off…But anyways, I just don’t understand how everyone thinks They Live was good. I mean the damn aliens are people wearing cheap-ass Halloween masks…And I’m sure the specials were bad then, I mean it was 1988…There had already been Star Wars Trilogy and Alien.
But it’s not even the shittastic specials that get me, it’s the combo of bad acting and even worse storylines…The whole premise makes no fucking sense.
I used to be on the debate squad in high school, so I’ll give you a proper retort: FUCK YOU!!
Masonator, would you like to expand upon what i said?
I wasn’t on the debate team but I would have to counter your retort by suggesting that you SUCK MY BALLS…Mr. Garrison…
Then it’s a draw. We can agree to disagree.[/quote]
I can live with that.
Worst movie I can remember seeing at the moment is Spanking the Monkey. It’s a movie about a kid fucking his mom and then killing himself.
WTF Scanner Darkly was one of the best movies EEEEEEEEEVERRRRRRRRRRR! Waking Life too!
This is one of those “where do I start” threads.
The first flick that popped into my head was High Tension. An absolutely pathetic insult to any non brain damaged adult. I just tried to sit through Snakes on a Plane recently and was woefully unsuccessful.
Generally speaking, almost any recent horror movies are terrible and alleged comedies are even worse.
On principle, I can endure bad movies if they are even remotely successful at what they intend. A piece of shit that doesn’t pretend to be anything more is far more tolerable than “serious, scary or funny” movies that are anything but.
Intention means a lot.
Arnold’s or Jackie Chan’s movies as a whole are perfect examples. They do not pretend to be anything more than bullshit fun and taken that way they succeed. Neither one can act to save their lives, but that’s not the point.

If you think Gone in 60 seconds was bad you are either a chick or a fag.
Worst anime I’ve personally ever seen was Ninja Resurrection. Ultra, ULTRA mindless violence and depravity which was a real disappointment after how good Ninja Scroll was though it was pretty rough as well.
Ninja Resurrection was all about how many men woman and children can we rape torture and dismember in numerous sick and grisly ways in the span of a feature length film.

So true, especially since it was promoted as a sequel to Ninja Scroll.
The worst movie I refuse to watch ever again to this day is batman and robin…I lost six to eight hours of my life…there was a screening in NYC, two hours online to get “FREE” tickets, two hours online to get into theater and two hours sitting through the whole fuckin thing. I was ready to leave within the first half hour, my girlfriend kept me in the seat. A close second is poetic justice with janet jackson and 2-pac shakur…this one keeps me from paying to see anything starring musicians.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Wanted to blow my brains out. Honestly. It was that bad.
By this time next year, GI JOE will have no doubt surpassed Mr. and Mrs. Smith as the worst movie ever. I don’t even need to bother seeing it it’s going to be so bad.
They Live is a classic! That movie has the best line ever: I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass… and I’m all out of bubblegum.
Any move that has a line like that is an instant classic!
I walked out of Armageddon…that was pure shit.

I actually enjoyed that movie, course I downloaded it, which may have had an affect.

Yep.
I would like to nominate Silent Running. 120 minutes of a guy talking to fucking robots that don’t talk back. I watched this in fast forward, not being able to believe that there is really a movie about a guy who talks to robots for 2 hours, but there is.
Murder by numbers.
Dead Alive (also the bloodiest movie known to man)
The Bone Collector
It’s like a detective vs. serial killer movie, only much more boring.

The original from the 70s, not the Nick Cage one, that one was amazingly awesome. If you’ve seen the original you know what I’m talking about.

The last half hour of Dead Alive was totally cool. The rest of the movie was so/so.
Now a terrible Peter Jackson flick imo is King Kong. What a steaming pile of crap that was!

I agree, but why did so many people act like it was the best movie ever made when it first came out?
Did they see the director’s cut in private? Did I miss some scenes that would have turned that from, “damn, what fucking time is it. I could be watching my grass grow right now” to, “holy shit that was amazing!!”?

Two words: Dinosaur avalanche.
