He is damn fun to watch, although he did seem to struggle the slightest bit today when he was triple teamed by Mexico. It will be interesting to see what Germany does against him.

I cannot wait to watch Argentina and Germany battle it out, that will be a dream match up. My German blood will be boiling. I am very pleased to see that Podolski, Mueller, and Ozil have reached top form.[/quote]
It will be intresting indeed but im predicting a 2-1 in favor of Argentina. They were simply amazing today and even as much as I love all things German,I cant deny that they will have a tough time pulling a win against the Argentinian machine.

Not at all. They barely made it. It was the worst qualifing run in English history.

They won nine out of ten games scored 34 goals and conceded 6. How is that barely making it? Definitely not the worst qualifying campaign in England history. Capello was put up on a pedestal after the qualifying campaign.

Are you forgetting the time that beckham scored on the 92nd minute against greece allowing us to go to the world cup?

I’d say that was the worst.

Ugh. Just when I got over the nerves from yesterdays match (thank god for screwdrivers), I’m already getting nervous for the next match! The WC = suffering.

Agreed, I can’t wait to see how the Germans deal with the Argie offense, esp Messi. But i’m oh so nervous that they’re going to get through our D, especially considering how technically sound the Germans are (eek!) and considering how much space we give the other team (seriously! jump on that ball mofos!), and long as Maradona doesn’t put that cat Jonas in (with the no-neck) and as long as Mascherano keeps his cool and Tevez keeps cranking those 30 yrs…aaaaahhHHH!

I predict a 2-1 win as well. I know we’re going to finals, i just feel it in my bones.

Lo llevo en mi corazon!

Well this mornings match was fairly bland. If Slovakia could finish, they could have come away with the game.

Hopefully the Brazil/Chile game is a little more entertaining, although it also does carry similar potential to be a blowout.

Maybe is because my team is not in it BUT were you really scared of Mexico? compared to Argentina they suck and from the beginning I knew Argentina was going to destroy them.

Yeah, I know what you mean. But I get nervous every time they play. It’s like I know they’re going to win, but there’s always that slight chance…

My heart says Brazil, but my wallet says Chile!

GOAAAAAAAAL!

You bet against Brazil at this stage?

The money inside your wallet says goodbye.

Although still a half left.

Unless there was a spread. I would have wanted at least +2.5 to take Chile.

Haha! No, I’m in a sweepstake with some friends. We drew randomly - I got the USA, England and Chile. The funny thing is the only one of those I genuinely wanted to win was the US.

Brazil has been my favourite team since I can remember!

Oh, and I call a 3-1 final score. But my predictions usually suck.

No offense, Raf. But this thread died after USA got kicked out.

Lies. ALL LIES!!

Well the Brazil vs Chile match was a complete blow out with a 3-0 score in favor of Brazil. (Uh,really guys? Did you expect anything different? Brazil is the NY Yankees of Futball)

Im predicting a 2-0 defeat of Japan against Paraguay. This is just a shot in the dark. I have no idea how either team has been playing up to this point but I haven’t heard anything that make me believe Japan is amazing.

Im calling a 3-1 victory for Portugal against Spain. Even though hes a fucking fairy,Rolando is still a force.

Wrong on both accounts. Japan will drive their Honda to victory and Spain will make quick work of Portugal. Ronaldo has been a ball hog this whole tournament, and against a back line like Spain’s, finding holes is just not going to happen.

Japan 2 Paraguay 1
Spain 4 Portugal 2

Roy Keane’s opinion of the England set up. True hero his word is law.
