The solution is:

Go to a beach in Brazil, any beach will do ( considering the performance today.).

Pick 11 Brazilian boys and naturalize them.

Show up the next World Cup with a “young English team” like the Germans.

Maybe he’s to tired from filming all those Nike commercials…
Unbelievable isn’t it? That guy lit up the premier league last year, he was absolutely unstoppable. He has been for years. He went missing this time.

Hah! Definitely a better plan than whatever we had going today.

that was fun to watch.

glad I was so wrong!

Yes, Rooney wasn’t bad, but he did the pas-de-deux much better. He literally feigned the dying swan three times. I hate that shit.

Ich hasse es, wenn die Deutschen gewinnen.

FIFA is a joke. So far this WC we’ve had Kaka sent off with a joke red card, a winning American goal disallowed and a tieing English goal disallowed, among other things. Absolutely no excuse.

Not going to say the end result would have been different, though. English defence was garbage. Masses of room for the German O. Rooney was nothing. If England was ever going to beat Germany, this was the time: No Ballack, no Cacau, a young squad, and a lineup of English stars. Germany always performs, and England rarely does.

After the fourth goal I physically couldn’t watch the end

English defenders, MARK YOUR MAN

Gerrard and lampard try passing rather than going for glory every time.
Honestly? Use different players. Bring in fresh blood. Get rid of all the team except maybe Ashley Cole, Aaron Lennon and Milner

Vamos Argentina!

Vamos Argentina!!!

I can’t see why you’re all dumping on Lampard in this match. I think he did well. His accuracy was back even though he missed a few chances by an inch or two. Milner wasn’t too bad either. Rooney however was horrible. I don’t know what’s wrong with him. He can’t even pass the ball ten yards with any measure of accuracy anymore. He looked like a drunken league 2 player with a wish for retirement.

damn england…way to lose your composure.

go Mexico shock the world!!!

In my opinion he did most of the work on their attack, he passed it and created opportunities when Lampard/gerrard should of been doing that for him.

Lampard/gerrard just fucking shot it aimlessley every time they got it. Terrible.

He can only score if his midfield creates chances for them. Any striker would of looked awful backed up by that piss poor england team.
I guess I just disagree with this straight up. For someone who has been one of the most talked about and most hyped players coming into this cup, he simply didn’t bring the magic. This is the biggest stage in the world, and Rooney has long since been hailed as the jewel of English soccer. He did nothing in this cup, and was mostly an afterthought.

I know it can’t be placed solely on his shoulders, as midfield play does factor in, but for someone who has had his face plastered in ads and TV campaigns, including the Nike clip where he is dominating Federer in table tennis, he simply fell far short of the hype.

The best players make things happen on their own, they elevate their level of play when it matters most, and they inspire their teams to win. Rooney did none of that.

Personally, I think Rooney has now slipped a rung below elite, and will have to prove that he belongs in the same sentence as Messi, David Villa, and Robinho among others.

Rooney was never in the same class as Messi et al.

The World Cup is every 4 years and only a few games for each team. Rooney has proved that he is world class during the season with United both in the Premier League and in the Champions League(week in week out for 7-8 months). I would agree with you if England would of had a great world cup and Rooney would have played shite but the whole team was a disgrace

HAHAHA That was BRILLIANT!

I love Scottish people!

( Except for Andy Grouchy Murry; where did he come from? Could there ever be a most unhappy and joyless young man?)

Yay both England and France were complete shite it could only have been better if we were there.

That is spot on. No matter the sport.

Same here. I went home at around the 70 minute mark.

Ah well, now on to cheer for Spain and Holland.

Spain is touch and go.
I have more faith in Argentina - they get real hugs from their coach.

My own mother never hugged me like that.
