I really love how fellow Americans,no matter what sport it is,get so emotional over a lost. One man informed me that we “Freedom just lost today” Really? On the upside,I can tell you that im officially a soccer fan and amany other people at work are as well.

I support USA too but come on,“Freedom just lost today”? Really? People that hate the sport complain and tell others that we should have won the whole thing because were the US. That’s just foolishness. I think people take this loss harder because we lost to a 3rd world country and that if we lost to say…Brazil or Germany,people wouldnt have taken it to heart.

“Freedom just lost today” is a bit over dramatic, I’ll give ya that, but at least people are actually paying attention to the world cup.

I disagree. I think losing to England to the likes of a known great such as Rooney would be far better than losing to a team full of unknowns.

Say what you will, but Ghana was inspired. They played beautifully. USA held their own and I thought they did well all things considered, but they lack the kind of imagination you need to go further in the cup. Its there though and after seeing yesterday’s match and their confidence I fully believe the US will be contenders in the future.
If there is a (aryan?) God, please don’t let Germany win. I don’t want a redux of the last cup!
