The further the tournament progresses, the more my English cynicism kicks in, and I recognise more clearly that we just aren’t going to win this world cup.

Yeah, I feel it too, and with Spain losing yesterday, it looks like one of the eternal verities of World Cup soccer - that Spain and England always perform like crap - is on track to be fulfilled once more. At least France is on the way out. Au revoir, les bloed!
Good reason to hope for a victory over Algeria tomorrow, at least, and maybe Slovenia will find a way to humble the pride of Westcoast.

I wish I wasn’t at work for 2 out of every 3 games per day. Would quite like to see the US play. I reckon they’ll make it out of the group without a problem.
Germany 3 - 1 Serbia
USA 1 - 0 Slovenia
England 0 - 0 Algeria
And that’s how it’ll go.
This is just being ridiculous.
Slovenia and algeria are incredibly bad teams. Algeria has 30,000 football players to pick from in it’s entire country, including 14 year olds. They are not even professional players, they work regular jobs. Slovenia too.
I doubt if they were a normal team that they would even make it out of the conference league.
England should win by at least 3-0, USA too.
I will say this though, USA might just win the table with more goals because england’s goal scoring capabilities are fucking shit.
I mean heskey? Why the fuck? The goal he missed vs USA was fucking terrible considering the level the rest of his team is on.
I just wish Owen, Hargreaves, Beckham and Ferdinand wasn’t injured…
YES!!! Just enough education to perform. Love this man.

He’s truly world class. I hope he gets to show this - when in form, he’s one of the top three strikers in the world. But he’s ugly as sin (I refer you to Shrek)

Everything you said is true. Except I wouldn’t qualify it as ugly but unique.
Germany’s performance so far has been lukewarm.
Lots of yellow cards on both sides ( Five cards in 30 minutes.) - very untidy game.
No captivated yet.
You are not missing much but would give you hope for England.

You got your wish. Germany are all over Serbia.
Oh MY GOD HANDBALL>>PENALTY FOR GERMANY !!!
SAVED.
?!?
I WISH I could watch it - I have audio through headphones at work. Apparently there have been chances at both ends? This world cup is shaping up NICELY.
Apparently if Serbia beat Germany and Ghana beat Australia, they’ll all have 3 points heading into their last round of games. That would be BEASTLY.

Yes. But remember, Serbia has an extra man and could have scored 3X0 by now. Germany with 10 has attacked and penetrated much more. The aggression and drive of the German blood is still evident. A sad thing Klose was sent off, uncalled for as well.
It’s over.
Serbia 1x0 whilst Germany with 10 men played better.
Poor outcome for Germany, the referee did call it very tightly, but the Germans did have an opportunity from the spot and Podolski just couldn’t capitalize.
The more I watch, the clearer it becomes that the ball truly is affecting play, and isn’t just being used as an excuse by the players. So many shots and crosses are simply sailing, and I think this is a direct result of one of the lightest balls ever used and the combined altitude factor. Players are going to have to learn how to keep the ball down, since they are obviously going to have to use this ball for the rest of the tournament, but in the future I really wish Adidas would figure the ball problems out, because the ball shouldn’t be the media focus of the World Cup, the goals and the players should.
