P.S. just because a guy drives a Lambo and claims to make lots of money doesnt mean he is well off or even not buried in unsecure debt. Use your brain here, a lambo new costs close to 300-400k, if you make 1M, assuming its not all from Capital gains you are talking 500-600 after tax. What kind of person spends that much of their take home on a car that you can hardly drive? The kind of “rich person” that sleeps in someone’s guest room in stead of a hotel and dates a woman half his age while being her ‘sugar daddy’. Perception is not reality and dont let other people’s shiny thjngs ever let you question your own self worth.
This.

Average new car price = $30,303
Median personal income = $28,567

I’d say Lambo dude is the epitomy of fiscal prudence. How many of us can say that our vehicles cost less than half of our after-tax take home pay?

Also, fwiw, you can pick up a 3 year old used Gallardo for around $125k.
I can. And it’s still worth more than I bought it for.

And if you’re going to buy a Lambo, why the hell would you buy a Gallardo? That’s like buying a Boxter.
The average american also has more in credit card debt than in savings so i’m going to pass on the if everyone jumps off a bridge joke. But yes, you have a point.

And I love Boxsters. My old man had a Boxster S, then a 911 Carera, now has a new 2013 Carera S. My uncle used to have a 911 GT2 that wasnt street legal, was for track only, ive driven them all, plus a 911 Targa S. I will say this, a Boxster S is a legit sports car, and a Boxster Base and Cayman for that matter, not many if any cars on the road at that price that can handle the way they do, or are as sexy.

I love Porsche. And the new 2013 Boxster is nasty. And i realize this is now extremely off topic.

This is why you buy a Gallardo

I seem to remember all types of issues with the Gransport’s Cambiocorsa transmission. I think they came out with a new hydraulic pump in 2006…?
I know people had issues with the clutch on that model.

The one pictured was an '06 and, iirc, the clutch had already been replaced. There were still some issues with that model, but I was told that a lot of issues could have been avoided if people learned how to shift properly with that transmission. The paddle shifting on that car was still very manual without some of the protective computer intervention that Lamborghini and some of the Ferraris had.

But really, once I got the insurance quote, I gave up researching much further.

However, 5 years from now? I’ll probably own one of them. (And maybe have a 21yo girlfriend, lol.)

So you’re saying the Gallardo and Murc look too similar, but then you’re shopping the grand sport which essentially looks like a 2 door quattroporte? Only the gransport is shittier

The Gransport looks nothing like a Quattroporte.

Yes. Exactly.

But I would say the Gransport and Quattroporte are actually look more different than the Gallardo and Murcielago. Plus, one’s a coupe, one’s a sedan.

The Gransport and Quattroporte had basically the same engine.
The Gallardo and Murcielago did not.

Neither does the gallardo and murcielago. When you see them in person, you’d have to be a total noob to mistake the 2. In which case, your opinion would be worthless anyways. I guess to average ditsy idiot girl, it also wouldnt matter tho.

Ah, gotcha.

Although, here’s one of my problems with the Gransport…

Fuck all that Pasta.

That’s right. I remember the concept car had boomerang shaped tail lights.

“The first generation Gallardo came with a 5 liter 90 degree V10 (4961cc), based on Audi’s 4.2 Liter V8 developed by Cosworth.”

“Audi AG unveiled the Audi R8 V10 on 9 December 2008. It uses a 5.2 litre FSI engine, based on the unit in the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4”

[For the R8] “The transmission options are either a Lamborghini sourced six-speed manual gearbox with metal gate for the shift lever, or an Audi-developed R tronic gearbox which is a semi-automatic, without a traditional clutch pedal with automatic gears shifting mode. These options are the same as those available on the Lamborghini Gallardo.”

If the OP’s alleged girlfriend was in a Murcielago and left Chicago travelling 78 mph and the OP’s alleged girlfriend’s girlfriend is leaving Atlanta in a Gallardo travelling 89 mph how many hours will it take for the OP to post pics of either one of these alleged gals?

Extra points if your answer includes the answer in English and metric.

I know, I know, Audi owns Lambo, yada, yada, yada. I’ll take the German version and the German Quattro any day of the week. That’s just how I roll.

Yeah, why aren’t they posted already?

Women always think money should pay, not matter how much they make. Being broke is a good excuse to not leave the house though.

My 1996 plymouth breeze has a transmission problem. It won’t stay in drive or reverse when the engine is cold. Once she gets a going though she runs like a tiger. I really don’t want to spend the money to have the transmission fixed, so my question is do you think the OP is going to marry this chick and then come back to tell us he’s getting a deevorce in 6 months?
