If you men would stop being so sweet and sympathetic when we get hurt, maybe we’d stop talking about it! Until that happens, which hopefully it never will, I shall continue to report my unbearably bruised knuckles and skinned knees.

Rug burns are temporary.
Ha! SKINNED knees show traces of blood and are therefore a legitimate concern.
Where do you get bruised knuckles, mechanic work or bare knuckle boxing??

Hockey.

That would be my wife. I broke one of her fingers horsing around one time. She got it reset and splinted immediately.

8 years later I still hear about it.

Strong move.

I bet she never burnt your toast again.

That’s why you wait for the helmet to come off before your start punching.

There’s a etiquette procedure for a hockey fight.

That’s wife material, right there, boys.

Is this true, Em?

Is there something you could do with the helmet so you don’t skin your knuckles? Maybe somewhere you could put it?

I am just going to pretend that you mean it the exact same way I read it.

As an aside, what would be a 10? I would imagine for something to be that painful, there would have to be some kind of psychological trauma as well. Like watching your leg get amputated. Or getting caught between the subway car and the platform knowing your intestines are going to spill out as soon as the car moves.
For me, 10 would be viral meningitis. When the lining of your brain is infected and it begins to swell and the hospital gives you spinal taps to relieve the pressure. Makes a migraine feel like a cool breeze on your face on a sunny afternoon. That fucking sucked.

I’ve been beaten, bones broken, stabbed, tendons ripped and sliced, well over 500 stitches, 11 surgeries, hit by a car, etc… and none of that compared to viral meningitis.
Dude.

500 stitches.

You need to work on your people management skills and whatnot…

“A high testosterone level - and probably a high level of other androgens too - makes your body able to withstand more pain, according to an animal study published five years ago in Hormones & Behavior.”

The East Germans might have been fanatical, but they were on to something with giving their female athletes androgens.

Pity about the beards and lizard tongue clits though

ve came here to swim not to sing!

I vote for the women…but that’s not necessarily a good thing.

What’s more painful, childbirth or a good solid kick in the balls? Why do women go back after the first one?

Has there ever been a man who said ‘Honey, its been over a year since the last one, I think I need another good solid kick in the balls.’

Never happened.

Men know pain is bad and to be avoided. What’s the deal with women?

I also hope not serious. There’s a bit of a benefit to having a child versus getting kicked in the balls. Or so I’ve been told…

When someone pisses me off on the ice, I need to throw down immediately. That ferocious is my temper.

Shit, I had six stitches in my hand when I wrote that post! Just got them out yesterday. LOL

Only feminists push the “women have higher pain tolerance” bullshit.

We as men could for all other purposes push the “all men die in riots and wars” fact, which is far from fact mind you.

Stupid research, stupid results.

I have people like that in my league, lol.

Like most things it varies among individuals. I have two daughters, one of which would faint if pinched hard. The other is tougher than most boys I know.
