And to condemn to hell all the good people who have tried to help people in their lives, but didn’t believe something that by definition has no evidence for it.
Faith is believing in something without having sufficient evidence to prove it, and good people would burn eternally for not being irrational?

Well if there was enough evidence to prove it - it wouldn’t be faith, now would it?

Ahh, and there it is . . . “good people” being punished eternally . . . having faith is irrational?

People are responsible for responding to as much truth as has been revealed to them . . . this is a very involved conversation, Do you wish to pursue it?

Having faith in something there is no evidence for is irrational. I think this quote sums up my opinion on it pretty clearly:
“I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.”

And do you deny that people who would otherwise fit your catagory as a good person will burn in hell in your religion?

A lot of the folks who mindlessly bash religion would do well to get a grounding in basic theology first.

Yes.

There is a loophole.

“The condemnation applies only to people who have had he Gospel presented to them, so that they fully understand the ideas, and then they reject it anyway. If they have never heard it, they are not condemned. And if they don’t understand it, they are not condemned.”

edit- MATTHEW 25:31-46

this passage doesn’t say anything about a belief system…only doing good for your fellow man.

It can only take one strong willed person to influence people en mass and that is the problem. Having one view of the world and how it should be is a dangerous thing and an ignorant one at that!

Your right IrsihSteel I should have clairifed my point better. I should have specified individuals who aim to control and force their ‘negative’ view of the world onto other people in a bid to reach some warped sense of reality they perceive as truth. Live and let live I say.

The world is a much smaller place now, with estimates of over 9 billion by 2050, so to start fighting over who posses the ‘truth’ is a hopeless endeavour that will go on and on and on… It’s comical really!

Fucking eejits the lot of us!

Oh?

But then what about Ephesians 2:8 and 9? Or Titus 3:5? Or Galatians 2:16?

Sounds like the epistle writers are of the opinion that doing good is not enough: the belief system (faith) is also required.

The counterpoint is, of course, that you can have the belief system and still be damned. The gospel of James says in verse 2:9, somewhat sarcastically, “so you believe in God. Good for you. So does the devil.”

Read the link I posted:

The epistle writers not only had the Gospel presented to them, they wrote the thing!

P.S. The Gospel of James…heavy stuff.

You made me dig my Bible out, man.

This just beat out the Corey Berg video as the worst thing that’s ever been posted on T-Nation.

The Bible doesn’t say to burn witches. It only commands us to burn the daughters of priests who are discovered not to be virgins.

It’s easy to condem Africa when you see a video like this, and not to imply that Africa isn’t a hell hole, but there is enough atrocity in the Western world that we really don’t have any room to talk. Westerners just use more sophisticated methods to brutally murder people.

A fair point. Abortion, euthanasia…

True. They burn witches, and we allow the killing of the unborn.

why is he a troll?

Maybe because he didn’t implicate America in his post?
