106.3kg this morning. Finally a big whoosh movement on the scale after…not really much at all in the first two weeks.
This is about where I thought it should be with the consumption so far…another week, then I’ll reevaluate the deficit.
No training today. Cut my grass. Went in the pool 3 different times. Walked the doggo. Went for another walk so my daughter could skate around the block.

Extra set today. Power was down a little bit…haven’t trained for 3 days, so that will do it. Fully recovered and was chomping at the bit though. Just the nature of Ultra High frequency pressing work. Also did a single chin up between every set from warmup until end. Between the squats also. Elbow had been playing up, so had dropped them. Seem to have not lost an ounce of strength on them at all.

I feel you, the chalk bucket at my gym was empty last week. I wouldn’t mind but it is a powerlifting gym FFS. They did have some liquid chalk. It is usually full but owners have been away a bit over Xmas and no one bought any.

Chipped my PB, and packed it up. Wasn’t feeling great, been fighting off a small virus the last couple days. Winning I think. Strength unaffected but today definitely low on the energy stakes.
Tomorrow is a new day. Will be Pressing, and getting some accessory work in.

SSB Squat:
Haven’t felt recovered from Mondays effort yet…and it showed. Had my gear on already so did the warmups and took the cycle weight for a double just to do Something. Come back tomorrow or Saturday. Looking like needing 3-4 days between squat sessions which is ok by me.

Just to add, that was probably the hardest Overhead Press session I’ve ever completed. Most volume at this weight ever that’s for sure, 3 reps up on last week. Going through my training log, this is the Third time in history that I’ve been this strong with this movement…the last time being end of 2021! I pressed 90kg that time. I refuse to ever load 90kg again for a single rep…plus 200lbs is 91kg, and that’s been a life time goal since I first learnt of the 200/300/400/500 targets. I have the other three…so basically 91kg + or bust, hence failing that 91kg a short time ago. Another few weeks and I’ll shoot for 91-92kg, I should have 81-82x3 by then also.
Actual life goal is bodyweight Overhead…which is currently still 106kg
. For a guy with my proportions…think 185cm tall with a 195cm wingspan these are BIG numbers. Especially Natty.
But they are coming.

Been a bit crook to be honest. Thought it was from a boozey Friday night, but I just think now is that’s just when it started lol.
Some kind of virus. Doesn’t seem to serious
. But I’ve got the old green snot/muck thing going, and it’s been interfering with my sleep and hence recovery. Had a headache past few days also, which only worsened with effort…I got through the bench session the other day but it smashed me for a day or two afterwards!
Back into it today though. Headache manageable, but still in the background.

DB Bench:
28x21 PB by one rep as it turns out. Probably had a couple more in me.
Nice to get some hard work in. Haven’t lost any strength from the mystery ailment, but Have kept up the food so that helps there. If only I could get a full night’s fucking sleep! Messes with your head after nearly a week of constantly waking up 3-4 times per night. For someone that normally challenges the dead for solid sleeping abilities, it’s causing maximum frustration. Feel like I’m over the hump though. I’ll take another rest day or two tomorrow, keep getting my walks in, and see how I feel on the weekend. Joint inflammation seems to be gone today, which is also nice, so hopefully we can get some squats in after bench.

I bitched it a little on this deadlift set, then did the 8 reps after it. Didn’t film. Wish I did.
Press was messy. Couldn’t find that groove… Breathing was a bit shit, probably why the set sucked.
They must have finally gone through the ~800 blocks I “acquired” as Iron Edge were liquidating. ![]()

Just building that work capacity and conditioning I need to set to a new bench PR. This was 3 extra reps on last heavy sessions’ workload. I have 130x4 in me now, both triples today we’re rpe9. So the capacity to get work done at this intensity is building well.
