Wisey's Training Log - StrongEveryDay

The massive hole is indeed from back squats.

And if the session is Low volume backsquats…I still wear it for those days. high volume now…I tend to lose too much skin. :grimacing:

My wife has been trying to throw it out for a couple of years. But one does not simply throw away a ‘DBS’ shirt. Because DBS can never die.

My neighbor was mowing the lawn the other day when I was carrying the bloody sandbag…

“Hey Tim…what’s doing…?!?”.
“Just the usual Mick…”.
“How heavy is it?”.
“70kg”.
“You’re off your head”.
“Yep”.

Mate the funniest thing is watching someone who doesn’t train try to lift one. One of my neighbours tried to pick up / move my 80kg bag, and it was like it was glued in place. Fkn funny to watch, and of course followed up with the same statement “you are fkn mad”

Yeah even my training partner couldn’t move the 70kg bag haha. He refuses the deadlift  . Haven’t been able to convince him in the 18 months or so he been training here. Bench? Sure. Hatfield Squats? No problem. Won’t do regular squats, deadlift or overhead press for fear of “hurting his back that’s been an issue for him his whole life”.

It’s shit because it’s weak…

Not even some low rep sets really light weight and progress slowly ?

Won’t touch them. Pussy.

Front Squat:

20x5
60x3

80x5
80x5

Press:

20x5
40x5
50x3

56.5x5

Chinups:

Stiff leg deadlift:

70x5
110x3

145x5
145x5

Suitcase KB Carry:

32kg x 120m non-stop, Changing hands every 20m.

Felt good this morning. My lower back was probably back to 90-95%, but not being 100% I went with the suitcase carries for the loaded carry work. Back was fairly pumped after that set.

Stiff leg deadlift felt good today. Seems I strained my back with that 70kg sandbag work a few days ago now…so need to Not do as much next time I use it, which at this rate will be Wednesday or Thursday next week. Tomorrow with be planks or other ab work, then I travel again for work Monday and Tuesday…so likely will do the farmers walls with the KB at the commy gym again.

Squats were fine. Played with stance on first set and went a little wider…No dice. Back to normal on second set and the difference is Real. Depth is better with my narrower stance and the rack is better too which is weird, but whatever. Press and Chins…eh normal, good. Extra half of a kg because of that copious amount of.water I put away before training lol.

Vids.

Things moving well…feel like I’m just getting better at moving the things. Especially Press. 5 reps on one breath, easy as. They just bounce now. Chinups too, though not filmed, are feeling great. Creeping the easy day weight up now.

Good.

Up at 0530. Away for work again so training at local commy gym. To be fair, its a crossfit gym with a commercial money maker attached. The beauty of this is a real weight room I guess.

Temperature was just below freezing before sun up. And the sun wasn’t up. Lol. Grass was frozen, that’s a new one for me. Air was icey…and here I was walking.to the gym in shorts and a simple Tshirt with a regular jumper. Lol. Classic Aussie, no idea what cold is or how to dress for it.

EES day 16.

Front Squat:

20x5
60x3

80x5 felt good.
90x5 PB. Just keep chipping it away. Still easy as per the program.

KB Farmers walks:

32kg each hand:

1 x 50m

1 x 70m
1 x 70m
1 x 80m this one hurt good. Feel like I’m carrying invisible suitcases after all that

Time for work.

95x3
110x2

Press:

20x8

63x3
68x2

Chinups:

Stiff Leg deadlift:

70x5

150x5
170x3
190x2

Plank:

Decent day. Chins were ok. Squats were great! Had heaps more there. Definitely big improvements happening. Press was also decent, without being tremendous. But they moved well. Deadlifts were also good. Though 190 was probably too heavy, noticed on film that I was bending my.legs just a little too much. A good note for next time.

Good day. Now onto yard work…gotta lay the new oil on the decks to the rear of the house. Beautiful day today, not cold, therefore perfect for it.

Shit couple days. Sunday I couldn’t train…still tried too, but joint inflammation made it bullshit. Had some kind of virus I think. The kid was crook last week, perhaps got a bit of that…took a bunch of ibuprofen and called in an early night. Monday woke up almost normal…took the dogs out first thing. Still felt… something, so kept the scheduled rest day in place.

Up this morning and feeling 100%. What a weird couple days. I won’t bother making up for Sundays “532” workout and will just carry on with week 5 day 1 later today. Never lost my appetite while Ill, and kept.water intake up. Makes a big difference.

Until later.
