0615 wake up…8.25 hours sleep.
104.5kg BW.

Walked the doggos for 25 minutes. Then into the garage.

ES Day 2.

Front Squat:

20x5
50x2
60x1

70x5
70x5

Press:

20x5
40x5
50x2

55x5
55x5

Chinups:

106x5
106x5

RDL:

70x3
110x3

140x5
140x5

Grip was iffy today. I’m using double overhand with these for the moment to strengthen it. Though the KB walks yesty have fatigued it a touch. Means it will get stronger.

Plank: (wtf mate).

40 seconds. Terrible. It will come on. I used to do these for 2 minutes back in the day with a 25kg plate on my back…should probably look to get back that level.

Feeling good.

This made me chuckle.

I am glad. Haha.

Figured heavy carries weren’t the greatest idea EVERY day. And is it turned out, as I get further into Dan Johns Book, he says the same haha. So will do em three times a week. Abs on other days of the ES program.

This morning training shit though…like, it’s not bad. But it’s the rest of the day that kinda sucks. Lol. Get sore a couple hours after, and lasts until bed time.

But it’s gone again in the morning. :person_shrugging:

Will walk more.

LMAO.

Yeah. Not looking forward to bringing those back. But I will in time.

Maybe.

Every time I think I am getting used to them but NO. I still get extremely sore every week.

I was the same with anything high rep/volume with back squats. Didn’t matter how many weeks went by…sore for 4-5 days. lol… I will literally never be able to run super squats. It’s just not Gunna be a thing. At least not as RXd.

Up again this morning for a decent walk. Then into the garage…just as I began warming up, my wife came out and threw a spanner in the works. So the workout wasn’t done…yet.

These things happen, but I am a man who likes a plan…and we had one last night lol. When things change at the last minute, it throws my mood…

Will have to train at lunchtime. Which is probably better anyway with today being a heavier day.

For better or worse, this is so much me, too.

Here’s hoping your day gets back on track—and soon!

I am a member of this club too. I love to have everything planned and whilst I can adapt quickly to change I don’t do it happily. My need to plan drives my wife insane, so I do my best to keep it to work and gym training and relax it a little at home.

Yep. Glad to see I am Not alone here :joy:.

It’s irrational to the unorganised people. But it is what it is.

I’m the guy who is not a fan of being late. You tell me 1pm, I’ll be there at 1259.

Also not a fan of people who are Always late. I get it, they are relaxed and don’t care. And that’s great. I don’t care for them.

Easy. Haha

I’ve had different friends over the years always be late to things. And at times I’ve seen the same people complain about missing out on something, because “they were only 15 minutes late”.

Early birds.
Worms.

That stuff.

I too like to be early. The most frustrating thing for me is to not have an accurate time for something. Wife will say, I should be home around 2.30pm, only to then text me at 2:00pm and say running late be here another hour, to then text at 4.00pm and say leaving soon, to then getting home at 6.00pm.
I am like, why not just tell me you have no idea what time you will be home, say it will be 7.00pm. I can then plan and orgnise my evening with the kids and if you show up early then that is a bonus.

Next time… I’ll be home around 2.00pm…arggghhhhhh

Oh man yeah I hate that. I see why we get along so well.:rofl:

“I should be home by 130”. Then a phone call at 215, can you pick up the kid from school?" After already planning other work things in this period.

why is it so hard to just know when something will finish. Now I am annoyed just thinking about it,

Dan Johns ES Day 3.
12pm. AM bodyweight was 104.9kg - 231lbs

Front Squat:

20x5
50x3

70x5
80x3
85x2 - 187lbs

Getting more comfortable with being uncomfortable in this position. Last time I tried front squats, I tried to push the weights too heavy before time, and lost interest. A little more confident this time around that a very gradual rise will lead to lifetime PR’s.

Press:

20x5
40x3
50x1

55x5
60x3
62.5x2 - 138lbs

Chins:

106x5
116x3
121x2 - 267lbs

RDL: double overhand grip.

70x3
110x3

140x5
152.5x3
160x2 - 353lbs

And today’s loaded carry:

32kg Kettlebell Suitcase carries. Went 100m non-stop, switching hands at the 10m mark. 1/16th of a mile in the promised land.

Good day.

Woke up at 0620. Body weight 105.1 (had Thai last night with the wife, so extra water weight again).

Got straight to work in my office… productive day.

Walk with the doggos at 1330. Then into the garage…

ABC Complex using barbell.

22.5kg this time, wanted to see if I could match my rep count from the other day using just the empty bar. Did.

15 reps this time. Went one rep better, and never once allowed myself to put the bar down. By minute 3, I really wanted to put it down. But didn’t. Was puffed as hell by the end of the 5 minutes. Still feel unfit, but obviously I did.better this time round. Plus I’m sitting here recovering rather quickly…rapid breathing stopped after about 90 seconds. It’s been 3.5 minutes and I feel like I’m about to ready to do something else. Cool to see all that walking on my trip has improved something, just need to keep it up and keep pushing.

Another positive is my hang power cleans are starting to feel nicer technique wise also. the catch will continue to suck for a long while as my wrists still have all the mobility of a 97yo dressmaker. But it’s improving.

Up up.
