This isn’t the Alamo and you are neither Jim Bowie nor Davie Crockett. Do something real and get involved. Don’t just commiserate online. I hope I piss off somebody enough that you actually do something. I don’t mind a true conservative, but I hate apathy, whining and Neo-cons…

And the left uses the term “neo-con” as if they know what the fuck it means.

You don’t. Find a different epithet.

I don’t think there are many neocons on this site. Most of the conservatives are libertarian. I don’t agree with all of the libertarian positions, but I respect them. They are at least logically consistent. The modern neoconservatives have an odd mix of foreign intervention and pro-business (while often simultaneously anti-market) views. Anyone that trashes the Bill of Rights can’t be all that conservative to me. There is nothing more politically conservative than conserving the Bill of Rights.

Like I said. You don’t know what it means.

Nice try, but you proved me correct instead.

Enlighten me, o master of conservative thought.
He is not so much the master but more the gatekeeper.

The cerberus of the PWI forum if you will.

LOL. Keep wearing those tin foil hats motherfuckers, and “making your stand”.

All this shit be done on Tuesday…and then in three months, it’s “President Obama”.

It’s going to be good to hear.
As Lord Cornwallis laments at the end of the clip I posted above, you just might be wondering how you lost.

Americans are unique. Most of us fled Europe to get away from Europeans and their style of social system. I suspect that our ‘European experiment’ will end quickly.

If you want a Socialist leader, move to Sweden. Lixy probably would like you for a roommate.

Perhaps you should know the meaning of the term BEFORE you start using it as an epithet.

It’s not my job to enlighten you.

How did I know you were going to not tell him the meaning. As soon as he asked fot it, I was like, Hell dude, you got a better chance at winning the powerball. Rainjack, the truth is that there is no “definition” of Neo-Con, it simply means New Conservative. There isn’t one particular trait that makes one a neo-con, but rather several can be combined to make one more Neo-Con, than Paleo-con, or Old conservative. One could have Neo-Con views and Paleo_con views. In Fact almost everyone is a mix, it just depends on what issues someone sides with the Neo-cons that makes them dangerous. I would say Cheny and Rove, are about the Purest forms of Neo-Con there is. So the closer your views are to Those two guys, the more Neo-Con, you are, The closer your views are to Ron paul, Regan, Teddy Roosevelt, Coolidge etc… The closer you are to a paleo conservative.

Read Irving Kristol (Bill Kristol’s father). Go to the PNAC website. You will start to understand some of the traits that would make someone a neocon.

My take on neoconservatism: it is a doctrine that seeks to spread the American world view around the globe (whatever their idea of that is) with militarism; it makes use of protectionism for select industries that they view are important to that goal, namely defense and energy; it gives purely rhetorical promotion to the free market yet ultimately desires omnipotence of big government over markets; it is a brand of military socialism.

Why don’t you guys just form a militia and overthrow the government?

Yes, I’m taking a stand. I voted on Sunday for Obama, and can’t wait to see someone with intelligence, diplomacy, and common sense living in the white house.

For what purpose? To install another Democracy that turns into another episode of “What can I get my government to steal from my neighbor?”

Ouch. Going to be a disapoining 4 years for you.

And, where will I stand? In the back…waaaaay back.
Sloth wrote:

After the last 8 years, anything will be an improvement. Even McCain, outdated as he is.

The best way to overthrow government is to ignore it and not participate in it. Violence will only beget more violence.

You think this is bad? Carter had a 60 Dem Senate. LBJ had a 60 Dem Senate. In each case, the country got absolutely goat-fucked. What do you think a socialist like Obama will do with a 60 Dem Senate, and Harry Reid/Nancy Pelosi?

We’ll now get Carter’s second term, with an inexperienced first-term Senator in charge. At least Carter was an old Navy guy. This Obama character will be an absolute disaster.

Of course, the Republicans will somehow rescue the country (like Reagan) and then the Dems will spit on him/them. Evil fucks…

But what about all the spare guns?
ninearms wrote:

Good for taking a defensive posture but I would not attack a tank with a rifle.

It was the Republican white house (you know, the one you voted for both of the last terms) that brought us to this dismal point in our country’s history. Thanks for offering to rescue the country, but you’re hardly in a position to do that when you are the reason we are here in the first place.

I assume by “here” and “this dismal point in our country’s history,” you mean the economic crisis?

If so, it was liberal and quasi socialist policies that got us here - from both Democrats and Republicans. I simply don’t see how more of the same is going to help.

So, if you’re in a swing state, I suggest you vote McCain to prevent Obama making things worse; if you are not in a swing state, I suggest voting for Barr or Paul to send a message to the Republicans, most of whom have strayed far from the party’s conservative roots.

You will have to wait four more years regardless of the outcome of this election.

Intelligence doesn’t get you much in terms of common sense in terms of common sense and diplomacy. For example, Bush’s IQ is probably in the 130s, but he’s extremely intellectually lazy. Clinton’s IQ was even higher, but he managed to create huge distractions in his presidency due to moral turpitude that resulted in us bombing people in support of Muslim terrorists in the Balkans. We’re still there today. Likewise, he was one of the presidents that assaulted lending standards and expanded the CRA. Lately, all I see IQ doing is expanding the capacity of leaders to harm.
