Will Dropping HCG Affect Test Levels

I just got my first 3 month bloodwork back. Total test 1210 and free 29 (range 9.3-26.5). My current protocol is 160 mg test, 500 iu HCG, and .125 Anastrozole as needed. I haven’t needed the AI and dont forsee needing it. I’m dropping the HCG due to fertility not being an issue, causing puffiness, and cost. How much do you guys think the HCG contributed to my levels. Old levels were 486 and 8.5. I split my dosage twice a week IM and the HCG subq. I feel great and seeing great results physically, mentally, and sexually.

I would bump up T to 200mg weekly once you stop HCG. Then assess in 6 weeks.

Dbossa, when I had my assessment my doctor prescribed the exact same protocol. 160mg at 2 times a week with the HCG. I am coming up on my first follow up labs but never utilized the HCG. My boys did not shrink that much. Should I have let my doctor know I am not using the HCG ? I am assuming he calculated that into the equation of where he wanted my total and free test levels at.

@sprinter528 if he wants your total and free at a certain level find another doc.

You increase dose until symptom resolution, wherever that level winds up being.

I agree with a lot of what you say. But what if the patient had adrenal issues? How would keep increasing t dose help them?

An experienced doc will be able to differentiate between low T issues and thyroid issues. If symptoms don’t improve after free T optimization, then address thyroid.

He wants me to feel good not hit a target number. I do feel good, I’m just trying to get an idea of a new dosage to ask for since I’m dropping the hcg.

I’m just confused. At the top you stated that you take HCG and then later you state that you didn’t take it.

Is the free of 29 with or without hcg?

I did take it for the first 3 months. That was someone else who didn’t.

Let me be more clear:

What is your current protocol, without the HCG, and where do your Free T levels lie with said protocol? Also, do you have any unresolved issues?
