Seems like you are dialed in on the up coming meet. Are you getting any ideas on your weight attempts? What progress in such a short amount of time; you have some good coaching there.[/quote]

Thank you! I am not sure I am thinking my squat opener will be 205 but not sure yet. We’ll definitely be figuring that out in the next couple weeks for sure. I do have a great coach.

Friday October 11, 2013 - Bench Day at the Rush with Dustin

Bench - Worked up to 1 rep max.
125lbs for 1 (this was my goal to hit at the upcoming meet)

DB Rows - sets of 8 with 20, 25, 30, and 35 lbs.

Push Press - Worked up to 1 rep max
115lbs for 1 ( I haven’t done these since I don’t know when). Someone not mentioning any names here (Dustin) didn’t think I could do it. I showed him.

Pull Downs - 4 sets of 10 with 60lbs.

45 minutes of cardio.

Everything is looking great. The squats are solid. Your raw division allows wraps?

Nice push press. There’s something very cool about pushing heavy weight over your head.

Were you able to drop your weight to 120? At the beginning of the log, your boyfriend said you were trying to.

Thank you! Yes they are allowing knew wraps in the raw division. No I did not we decided to stay at 140 and compete in that class since I have been making some pretty good gains.

Deadlift Day

Reverse band DL - worked up to 275lbs for 1 (did a million sets before this)

Leg Extensions - 4 sets of 10 with 70lbs
Leg Curls - 4 sets of 10 with 70lbs

Sorry I have not been posting lately life has just been getting in the way. I have still been training and setting new prs and am getting ready for my meet this week end still. Yesterday I had a mock meet with Dustin and Sam Byrd. I worked to alittle over m openers but had more in the tank on everything except maybe the deadlifts. I hit a easy 240 Squat, 125 Bench ( Sam said my butt may have came up just a smidge), and 245 Deadlift videos below. This puts me at a mock total of 610.

See y’all this weekend. Good luck!

Hey guys  I did it I actually compete this weekend and didn’t die haha, I honestly had a amazing time, meet some awesome people, set so PRs, and won the very first trophy I have ever won in my life… seriously. I didn’t cut any weight and weighed in at 143 after breakfast.

I opened squats with 220 and from the nervousness I had I don’t even remember it but, I know I got 3 white lights haha. 240 was a breeze. 255 the only thing that really started to break down was that my knees started to come in just a bit but I def saved it and feel I could have handled 260 just as well.

Bench I absolutely hate so I opened with a very light 105lbs so no matter how much I screwed it up I would get on the board. 120 was really easy OI felt like I was going to break a PR for sure. 130 the press was so easy in my hands but, I kinda freaked out I think and raised my butt just a smidge and got 2 red lights on it.

Deadlift I wasn’t really looking forward to I was rediculusly tired. We started at lifting at 8:30am and I pulled my first attempt at 6:10pm. 220 smoked it, 240 smoked it, 260 smoked it had a easy 10lbs I think left in me.

I totaled 635 tying the Tennesse State Record for 148 womens juniors. Unfortunately, I turn 23 this week, So I wont have another chance to break it. I cant wait till March for our next meet.

I bet all those guys were wondering wtf you were doing squatting so deep hahaha! Great lifts.

Kristi,

Just wow! You showed everyone how you really can get better each day. You set a goal and reached it; few people set lofty goals, even less achieve them.

Congrads, now rest up.

haha! I thought that’s how you were supposed to squat. I have much harder time coming back up when I don’t squat deep. Thank you and it was nice to meet you even though we weren’t really introduced lol.

Thank you! :). I survived. That was what freaked me out the most was having to get in front of a bunch of people watching me do the lifts. It wasn’t that bad I did it and had some awesome PRs on top of conquering one of the things that I would rather die than do. Trust me I’m taking full advantage of the rest taking lol

I’m so bummed I didn’t realize you were lifting last w/e…if I had known I would have introduced myself :frowning:
Good job on your first meet, next one will be even easier now that one is in the books!

Aww. Oh well maybe next time. Did you lift or just watch? I think it looks like I’m going to maybe do the one in March as well in Knox.
Thank you! I sure hope so.

Congrats on a fabulous showing at your first meet. Really terrific!

I can relate!

my wife hasn’t taken the time to set up a profile still, but if i’m on tnation, she pushes her way in to check out your log. she just squatted the 45s last week, and came home estatic. 135x5 big lift for a little lady, thanks for this log, and showing what strrength training for women is. It makes my job easier, getting her to do real workouts. keep up the good work, you’ll be out-lifting Reed real soon

I got so excited when I could do more than just the bar lol. I used to hate squatting and now I love it its definately my favorite. Congratulations to your wife for hitting that weight that’s super awesome. :). That’s my goal is to better than him of course since he is the one who got me to do this and my partner as well got to show him up eventually.
