How then did the big bang happen?

i explained that on like page one dude.

wtf

the big bang was the result of strong nuclear, weak nuclear, electromagnetism and gravity converging.

if you look at the pic to the right im assuming those 4 designs are representations of the four fundamental forces and that hot explosion looking thing is the ‘big bang’

if you look at the next picture down, which i also referenced earlier in this thread, you’ll see the picture of the green/blue/red dots. thats the mapping of heat throughout the universe. i dont know a great deal about it but i saw it on a TV Documentary and they were explaining more or less that it’s like adding hot water into a cold bathtub, it takes time for the heat molecules to spread/dissipate throughout the whole tub it isnt just in one place. so that’s why the map looks the way it does.

When collapsed to a black whole, it would take an infinite amount of energy to have even an electron escape from the gravitational pull. You have to understand that not even a massless photon can escape a black whole. To expand the universe outward would literally take infinite energy to overcome infinite force.

From your link:
“Shows slices of expansion of universe without an initial singularity”

Expansion from a singularity is not scientifically possible. Which is one of the main reasons I don’t think we really understand the beginning of the universe yet.

it says ‘without’

Common origins of world religions…

Your mileage may vary…

Exactly. Current calculations hold that it was a singularity.

Here is something that will put it all into perspective. It actually shows us how insignificant us and this tiny argument are.

Seven billion galaxies, all created for the benefit of homo sapiens, one species out of 100 million on a single planet in the outer rim of one of those galaxies. Because God likes us best.

That sounds plausible to me.

Ahh gee.

Anyway,

Sober up with this:

Yes. It is very arrogant to assume we are the only intelligent form of life.[/quote]

Every intelligent, self-aware form of life in the universe probably goes through a phase in its evolution in which it is convinced that the universe was created exclusively for its benefit, that it is the only such being in the universe, and that the Omnipotent Creator of the Universe is a being much like itself, only grander.

Eventually, of course, these beings wise up, and evolve their thinking.

As will we earthlings, I imagine. May take a few more thousand years, but I’m confident it’ll happen someday.

Didn’t say that it was. If you’ll recall, my post was in response to Zoso saying “when was the last time you saw Christians (or anybody) doing this?” followed by a group of Muslims sawing off a guy’s head with a pocketknife.

I figured he meant decapitation per se, and not specifically inefficient decapitation, so I found some examples of people (who may or may not have been Christian; their being Mexican raises the odds that they’re Catholic, but again, they wouldn’t need to be in order to satisfy the “or anybody” clause of Zoso’s question) lopping heads recently.

I see.

Check this webiste out. It seems it’s not exclusive to Muslims and Catholic drug lords in Mexico. Here’s some more (no video or pic, just text) for ya:
