This week is a deload from the heavy stuff so I did another Widowmaker challenge. 405x24 if you don’t count the breaks (hands didn’t leave the bar so I think that’s ok).

Nice Job…Much Respect!!
x2, very impressive!
Serious question, why would have mattered if your hands came off the bar?

It breaks the continuity of the set. I don’t really care but some people might.

Ah, thanks for the explanation. If I follow the bar down it kills my spine (spondi) so I have no choice but I see how it might be preceded by some. I remember having a discussion a while back (years) over touch-n-go vs deadstop and while people took definite sides, it really came down to goals and preference.
SUH_MUH_MUH_BITCH! So I debated bringing the camera for the bench 20 rep challenge, decided against it so I wouldn’t have 2 fail videos of me going for 20, and I ENDED UP HITTING A NEW PR REPPING OUT 275 FOR 20 PHUCKIN REPS! AHHHHHHHHHHHH! Previous best was 19, but that was when I was about 40 pounds heavier a few years ago, and I figured no way I was hitting 20 this time since a couple months ago I only got about 15-16 at 275. I KNOW I KNOW, Video or it didn’t happen. MUDDAPHUCKA I’m pissed. I’ll have the camera next time.

Really nice! Oh and I’m glad you cut off that part at the end where you started crying.
Just kidding you crazy.
Lol that’s not so far from the truth. No one wants to hear the 3 minutes of moaning in agony before I got off the floor and turned the camera off. Good thing I was alone in the room haha.

Dayyum that’s a ridiculous bench. But, this little incident with the camera… it’s just fuel for the fire next time!
Not an all out effort yet, but I took a vid of it so, what the hell.
BW bench x 20, you’ll have to take my word for it that I weigh 224 today. I weighed in at 217 last week for a meet. Best to date is 225x29, and Im stronger now than I was then. I think.
Gonna shoot for 250x20 @ 220 BW in the next month.
Oh, and props to all you crazy bastards doing this with squats/deads. I would puke.

I did do this a week or so ago. It’s 175 for 20, but it was at the end of a leg workout and front squat session so my legs were fried before this.
Bumping this just squatted 315x20 at bw of 200lbs The video will upload in 2 hours but posting now so I remember to put it here
Damn. I would puke, and I got 20# BW on ya. Nice job.
Got a failed widowmaker myself, but I figure its still in the spirit of this thread. Bench 255x19
at 219 body weight, so 116%ish. Didn’t have a spot but from the looks of that 19th rep I wouldnt have gotten 20 anyways. Next time.
Edit: followed this with a set of 20 on neutral grip pull ups, which was almost as big a bitch.
Hopefully this will start up again with people posting some more videos.
Here is me yesterday, Squatting 195 at a BW of 190 (sorry didn’t get visual proof of that). Hopefully I will be doing these with close to 1.5 x BW by the end of the year. Sorry the camera angle is crap and the weird convo in the background. Also, this was after a heavy (for me) top set of 260 x 5
