I just saw this thread. I’ll work on the challenge.

last week I did back squats with my bodyweight (185) for 3x20 I plan to add 20lbs to this a week.

I squatted 295x20 a few weeks ago next time I do a wm ill film it

This was a few weeks ago; just 160lbs at 135 bw but it was after 4 sets of 6.

The overhead press challenge thread had a decent run. It does hurt a lot more going for a 20RM than trying to put something heavy overhead once or twice, though.

Probably more like short attention span and not enough free recovery points to allocate to 20 rep sets. IIRC my 19 rep squats took more than a week to recover from.

Thanks guys. That’s very kind despite the less than impressive weight. The thing I find about 20 reps is when you start, the weight feels so light but when you reach 20 with the same weight it feels like crap on your back.

I understand completely. My 385 for 17 deadlift “foray” cost me well over a week. Maybe two.

FWIW my initial goal for this challenge was going to be four plates for 20 and at the last minute I decided to play it safe and nail the 385 for 20. Yes, I did not reach my goal (had no freakin’ clue what I could do for high rep deads) but like I said the 17 still rocked my CNS for almost two weeks.

Then again I wasn’t talking about those who’ve already taken a stab at this challenge but rather those who sit on the sidelines and don’t want to get in the game.

Also I wasn’t being completely snarky but rather was trying to stir some competitive juices.[/quote]

Touche.

I kinda want to do another widowmaker now.

back squat 225 for 3 sets of 20 last night. walking back to the squat rack without falling down between sets was the hardest part

Thread resurrection! 430x21 deadlift, dead stop reps.

Fucking awesome video. I love your face at the end. Motivational.

LOL crawling to the camera in agony! Thats a fucking widowmaker set right there!

That’s the face of pain. Deads make everything hurt: legs, glute, back, lungs, hands, forearms, traps, etc.
