If people outside of the U.S. are not overly friendly to you maybe it is becuase of your dck head attitude, or that you make ignorant and Un-intelligent statements?

On what basis are you claiming that The U.S> is the greatest country in the history of man?

Is it the size of your army (the same army that invented the term ??friendly fire??)
Is it your strong economy?
Is it your well respected and intelligent leader?

If you wish to make stupid ass comments like this may I suggest you read up (OK maybe you can find a film about the following, I know Mel Gibson makes world history much easier to understand for you)

Ancient Egyptians
Byzantines
the Roman empire
Acient Greeks
Britain (during the industrial revolution when they controlled 90% of global trade)

The US today does not even come close sorry dude

Well, America is better because Americans walk in to European gyms and start deadlifting while Europeans are doing crunches and pec decs apparantly.

Since the American Revolution, European nations have always had to rely on their bigger, little brother across the pond for protection, usually from Germany. Germany gets a little drunk and rowdy (and who wouldn’t with all that German beer?) and starts beating people up, Great Britain, France, etc can’t fight back well enough and the United States steps in and turns the tide of war until victory for herself and her feeble allies.

Not only that, but European countries had to take our model of separate states in a nation with a common currency to improve their own political standings in the world, and we’ve only been around for an inkling in comparison to european history. Apparantly we lead the learning curves too.

And our athletes just make European athletes look silly, except for soccer but soccer is pretty gay anyways. And we even have your soccer superstar regardless!

I would imagine Europeans have developed some sort of feeble sibling syndrome and seeing a bigger, stronger American doing manlier exercises in their gyms agitates the syndrome.

Actually, in 1812, Great Britain came back over here and kicked our asses. If you forget, the French presence in America was one of the deciding factors in the outcome of the American Revolution. The only European power we could push our weight around with during the 1800’s was Spain (who had been in a sad state of decline for the past 200 years or so already). During the late 19th century, Great Britain controlled 75% of the world’s inhabitable land area and was already full industrialized. American didnt become a major power until the end of World War I, which left Europe so devastated that the opportunity was wide open for America to step up and become a superpower. Britain and France couldnt defend themselves from Germany? This is partly true, but you are forgetting that there were British soldiers dying with our boys on the beaches of Normandy, too. I would say Britain held its own pretty well, considering that, Unlike the US, it was in range of German bombers and got cold cocked every night during the war. As for the Americans being the sole reason the course of the war changed, I dont know how true that is. The Russian juggernaut did quite a number on the Germans and once again, dont forget the British.

Has the US played a pretty major role in world affairs in the past century? Yes. Have we been rolling up in our American Flag H2’s and shouting AMERICA FUCK YEAH for the past 250 years? Not at all.

If America were so powerful at this moment, then our dollar would be worth more than the Canadian dollar, we would have finished the job in Iraq, and have maybe even solved some of the problems in the rest of Asia (Iran, North Korea, etc.)

I get the feeling Europeans dislike Americans because the majority of us are arrogant sons of bitches with little to no grasp on what is actually going on in the world. I dont know where you got your profound grasp of History, but if it was in Texas, then it makes sense why our nation is in such a piss poor state these days.
We do control most of the worlds economy today, arguably as much as England did centuries ago. Instead of setting up colonies, we set up puppet gov’ts and exploit poor economies all over the world, produce our products cheaply and then sell them either directly or through foreign subsidiaries to other countries.

Any time an economic threat appears able to rupture our balance, the military is involved just like England. We just call ourselves allies to our puppets now instead of lords.

Roosevelt bought up many of the S. American nations’ debts from their european lenders and has consequently made S. America an economic slave since.

Bush and his dad did the same in the middle east, communism was destroyed as a threat to the american based status quo, and the world orginizations are often drafted and run by americans.

America is definately as powerful as any empire before her if not more so.

Have we been running around yelling fuck yeah for 250 years? No. But England didn’t just become the power it was over night either and also relied on allies through Monarchial marriages to win wars.

The difference so far is that when England was on top, they couldn’t hold it.

The us is doing a fine job of maintaining and even improving it’s status though it is already the lone super power and in charge of most of the global reformation movements which consequently are slanted at expanding american influence and status.

i love watching all the euro fags get their panties in a bunch when they see that. the fact of the matter is; all countries in the last century have, at one time or another, gently held America’s nut sack in their mouths. It is wasnt for us there would be homosexual terrorists anal raping all you bitches. USA USA USA.

“It is wasnt”???

Homosexual terrorists anal raping?

Where are these terrorist from? I do believe that the US is now the target for the majority of terrorists in the world and has recently suffered the worst ever single terrorist attck.

If you want to pull out the old chesnut of how the US entered the 2nd world war (4 years late) and helped us win it, then can we discuss who built the US in the first place and where the original seetlers came from? who provided the steel for the rail roads the slaves to build them, the ships to transport the goods the engineers, the guns and ammunition to shoot the natives? I think you will find most of it came from Europe dude.

So sending over Private Ryan was the least you could do, anyway most of the American GI’s hung around in the UK shagging our grannies, what a bit of chocolate and nylon tights will get ya hey

Maz I love the fact you are patriotic and love your country it is a great nation of yours but all I was trying to explain is that if you travel abroad with that atitude your not going to be very welcome in many places nowadays mate.

peace.

And where did the original Europeans come from? If we are going to go this route, we may as well just all call ourselves Africans.

The atheists are doing their best to get rid of it.

Damn those Athiests with their lack of extremist beliefs!

I honestly don’t understand your comment there Zap… Unless it was a joke… In which case I got it and thought it was hilarious.

It was a joke. Freedom of religion is alive and well in the US even with all the wackiness that goes with it from the Westboro Baptist church to the people that want to remove the 10 commandments from all public buildings.

Nobody is competing so therefore nobody can be winning, its a discussion it what heppens when adults and internet forums collide

WHAT. HAVE. I. DONE?!?!?!??!!

I only wanted to know why everyone’s pickin on me, and now everybody’s picking on everybody all over the world!

I’m, so sorry…

America has already peaked and now, whether you want to believe it or not, has fallen into a recession. When she recovers, the economies of the E.U. and China will have already overtaken her.

The “only superpower in the world” will just be history.

The US is has the strongest best equiped military, largest economy in the world.

For these main reasons Americans like Mazilla Travel the world with a bit of attitude because they fell their country is the greatest.

One point i was trying to make was that these things that make Americans thing the US is great, a number of other peope around the worls actually think otherwise.

Many foriegners think of America as being the biggest ever polluters in the history of man, the greatest wasters of resources, these same people have little respect for America’s leadership and dislike its foriegn policies and current wars in the middle east.

Some foreigners hate the US so much it has become the number 1 target for terrorism in the world.

Ok I concede to Texas guy who knows his shit and I am in great rspect of his knowledge.

My original argument was very flawed and required a very narrow perspective view point to stand up so my appologies for atempting that, lets just say it was bollox it did not work the way I intended it too which was to guage a response from Maz, so I bow out of this drawn out disscusion (unless you enjoy debating maybe in PM it could be fun to continue Texasguy?)

THe greatest country in the world, What a utter twat. About the dirty looks perhaps you amagined it, or it’s beacuse your amrerican I don’t know

That’s hilarious…

While Texasguy has taken the intellectual approach to convincing others that America is great(and doing a damn good job of it), Mazilla has taken the offensive approach, and being hilarious. Kudos to both of you.

Europe still thinks they matter? Once other countries start putting more pices in the middle eas to get a stranglehold on oil, how are the greedy european countries going to manage. Without their union they are small, puny, and unintimidating.

Oh great, youre in this thread. Why dont you go beat up some freshman.

Heres the thing: Europe DOES matter. A whole hell of a lot. No other countries are going to throw their chips in in the middle east. Do you know why? Because they are smarter than us and realize that that is a bundle of trouble that wont be going away in the next century or so. If you know that an issue is avoidable, then why get involved? It seems like a good decision to me to avoid taking part in an enormously complicated conflict that will only end with you spending billions (possibly trillions in the long run) of dollars in order to accomplish little more than a “moral” victory over people who are only pissed off because you shit in their grits in the first place.

Lets look at economic power for a minute. The Euro is by far stronger than the US$ as is the English pound. Europe has managed to unite itself under the EU and, unlike the US and our AMERICA FUCK YEAH attitude, have actually figured out how to work together to better all of them.

And as far as Texasguy’s “good job” and “intellectual approach”, I am saddened. I wonder how many of you have taken a history course beyond the tenth grade. I already addressed this.
You keep comparing the dollar to other currencies which is a poor indicator of the over all health of an economy.

You should concern yourself more with purchasing price parity, GDP and GNP for a realistic view of the power of an economy in world that uses fiat money systems. You should also take in to consideration the amount of control a nation has over the worlds most valuable resources, and how easily they could take control. Military might does play a huge role in making countries great and keeping them that way and always has.

Here are a few sources for you to compare nations. history is great, but it is the lack of economic, financial and cultural understanding that has you making weak points regurgitated from the tenth grade level history books you seem to despise.

total GNI:
http://siteresources.worldbank.org/DATASTATISTICS/Resources/GNI.pdf

GNI per capita:
http://siteresources.worldbank.org/DATASTATISTICS/Resources/GNIPC.pdf

Total GDP:
http://siteresources.worldbank.org/DATASTATISTICS/Resources/GDP.pdf

these are only a few factors, are relevent as of 2006 and are after all conversions have been made, purchasing power included. Ceteris Paribus is the word if it helps.

If you have trouble understanding the charts, read the home page. It should explain it all for you.

One fact I am extremely thankfull for is that there is enough people in the United States in Canada that bear arms that invading us could be considered suicide; as I am certain anybody with a gun, which is a lot of fucking people will do anything to protect our gorgous white women from the chinese
