I was reading an article by Dr Clay in the articles section and I noticed in the comments section that he told one guy NEVER to do cardio before a weight training session unless it’s light warm ups.
Why? I do the treadmill for 35 minutes (fast walk, 3.5 incline) before starting my 2 hour weight workout, then I do another 45 minutes of the same after. Why not before?
Thanks[/quote]
Yeah well how do you feel doing cardio first? I always tell people to do weight training first but some people tell me they see no difference. If they see no difference i assume they are not lifting heavy enough ok…
I just saw somewhere that weight training ( for how long and what intensity i don’t know) will burn more calories than if you ran a 6 minute mile. And its well known that you get more of a benefit in terms of raising your metabolism even after the session is over with than you would if you ran.
Ok but you know if you like doing the cardio first and your good with it then by all means do so.
Cardio has more of a benefit for making one feel mellow afterwards so if its been good for you keep it up.
