Come to think of it, in all my years as a dietitian, I never once had to get shirtless for an interview.
I’m confused. :([/quote]
As much as it pains me to say it, people do just the professional health & performance advisor on how he looks, even if it is at a subconscious level.
I get so much more work when I am in great shape. Part of that is undoubtedly because I feel great, and that shows through when I talk to people, but mostly it’s because people want to look like you, if they work with you. They also require that re-assurance that you must know what you are doing, because you look the part.
It’s bullshit human nature, but there you are.
That’s my opinion.

I agree with you. But it also depends on what sector someone’s working in. I work in healthcare, so my appearance means NOTHING! Well, I don’t KNOW if it meant nothing because after all, maybe my interviewers looked at me and said to themselves, “This guy really takes diet serious for himself; it’s part of who he is, not just what he works in.” I once had an interviewee who hired me say on the interview something like, “It’s about time we have a male RD around here, and who who’s in shape and really is passionate about what they do.”
Of course it helps in some ways, even if indirectly.
I just don’t know understand why dietitians’ looks have anythign to do with my statement about the Paleo squad.
And I don’t consider someone who restricts certain foods simply because they don’t respond to them well as following some type of fad or belonging to some cult. If you avoid legumes or dairy or whatever else is on the banned list of the Paleo crew because YOU truly don’t do well with them, and not because Paleo Man said so, then I don’t consider you paleo. I consider you someone who’s making a good decision to stay away from foods you don’t do well with.
