It’ll never work. It would piss off too many “hardgainers” because they would all of the sudden be able to eat something that tastes good, and get enough calories to actually make gains. Why is this a bad thing? Because they like to complain about how hard it is for them.

Well, why didn’t you just say so? If we knew you felt that way about it, we would’ve stopped holding that gun to your head ages ago.
You’re going to gag? Hell, welcome to our world, 'cause I’m willing to bet I’m not the only one here who gags on the e-spunk you shoot onto our screens with your laughably smug yet hilariously unimpressive supply of Internet-Masturbation threads.
Now I know, I get it, you want us to think that you’re way too busy being a fucking lightning rod for Guinness-quality Brilliant! ideas that you simply can’t be bothered to dim down that bulb over your head to a degree that would match our own knuckle dragging, hamster-on-treadmill noodles.
Thing is, though, you don’t get it. And, no, I’m not talking about why people drink Muscle Milk, which devilBASTARDdog justified quite nicely with it’s my choice; leave me the fuck alone.
I’m also not talking about people who use avatars that aren’t themselves (lamest question ever, BTW).
What I’m talking about is that, to me (and I’m sure many, many others), all you come off as is the intellectual equivalent of the pudgy, balding, 50-year-old impotent in the cherry red sports car who insists on going 70 in a 30.
Only difference is - you aren’t going anywhere. And that’s a damn shame. At the very least bring some tissues for us next time.
I am confused and too lazy to read this whole thread again. Am I the midlife crisis guy because I usually eat ‘clean’? I am making progress, and taking in a ton of calories, but I am far from huge. But give me a few more years and we’ll see how it goes.
Again I lost track of what this thread was about - but did anyone mention HEALTH?
I like the idea of combining bodybuilding and health. To that end I choose nutrients over ‘empty’ calories unless I am looking for a cheat meal.

Who here said anything about eating “empty calories”? Empty calories would be a cookie or a doughnut. How is a pizza “empty calories”? It is “high calories”, but “empty”? No one here is recommending someone ignore “health”. What was specifically stated is that “health” is one pretty fucking arbitrary word unless it is compared to another state of “less health”. Could you specifically tell me how eating a pizza once a week or once every two weeks or any other random frequency equals “poor health”? I am truly waiting on your response. I want to see if you can skip what people are actually typing some more as you try to create arguments that no one has made just so you can debate those instead.
For the record, the last time I have eaten any fast food was about two months ago. It seems some of you only think in “black and white”. I have always wondered what happened to your sense of sight.

I forgot the point of this thread and I was just saying I like healthy foods. I dont understand how this thread turned into some kind of battle against "the intellectual equivalents of the pudgy, balding, 50-year-old impotent in the cherry red sports car who insists on going 70 in a 30. "
You wont find me criticizing pizza or any food for that matter. Food = good. And at least for me, nutrient timing is equally important.
And by healthy food I mean a diversity of nutritious foods. Does that mean pizza or cake or a Triple Cheese Burger are unhealthy? Not unless they are eaten by the typical North American. And I would think most of us here are very far removed from the typical North American diet.
But seriously, wasnt this a thread about Muscle Milk? What happened ?

Muscle Milk is poison.
Sorry if this has already been posted.
And Dr. Lowery has said that Muscle Milk is taking the “poison” out as a result of the negative publicity.

And that, my friends, is the true definition of the “Straw Man” ![]()
I’m not taking sides here or saying anyone in this discussion has done that; I just see that term used a lot here and have felt the urge on several occasions to clarify what it actually means.
Carry on ![]()

Which has been the point that so many on this site seem to not understand. If someone is working out the majority of every day in a week, eating six times a day and has any basic knowledge of nutrition, how their body responds to “fast food” in moderation is not going to be the same response as that of an obese sedentary person. The statement made was that no one gives a shit how ‘clean’ you are eating if you are making little to no progress. The goal is not to see who can eat the cleanest the longest. The goal is progress.

Anyone who reads the Politics forum would (or should) already be well-versed in the definition of a Straw Man.
Anyone who doesn’t read that forum probably couldn’t care less.
Just sayin’…

I don’t read the Politics forum regularly. I have a strong disdain for political discussion, as it almost always strays from the actual topic at hand and leads to party-line bickering. But I digress…
I have seen the term thrown around quite a bit outside of that forum and often incorrectly. I have also seen people call others out for “incorrectly” using the term, when in all actuality it was being used in the proper way. That’s why I commented.

For whomever asked the question three pages ago, EvoPro is the protein blend that CytoSport uses in Muscle Milk. It’s the protein without the candy bar, if you want to phrase it in CL’s terms.
For a 188 lb. MMA/Lifter type person looking for size and strength, and availble at his univ for $4 a RTD, is it worth it?

What a rip off. I can get Lean Body’s meal replacement for 62 bucks over the internet for 42 packages. That means each MRP is less than $1.50. You are paying 4 bucks just because it is already made for you? Because blenders are real hard to find? Because they don’t make shakers? Because you aren’t old enough to have a bank account? Because you don’t feel like planning ahead? Because everyone else is using it?
It’s that last one, isn’t it?
i love muscle milk myself.
i use ON whey after my work outs, but typically have at least one muslce milk shake a day.
i mix mine with milk instead of water and love the taste. in fact, it is the best tasting stuff i’ve ever had, and i’ve only tried three flavors so far.
i impressed with how nutrient dense it is, especially with the extra milk protien.
hell, it’s probably healthier than normal meals that i eat with all the vitamins and minerals mixed in.
it does have more fat than most protien shakes, but is used more as a meal than anything, and isn’t all that bad as far as meals go when you consider protien and other nutritional content.
besides, they came out with a light version of muscle milk that only has six grams of fat.
you can’t really complain about that.

Seriously, why is this stuff so popular? I’m going to gag if I read another dumb question about the stuff. It’s basically protein powder with a ton of fat. You’d be juast as well off using a scoop of Metabolic Drive (Evo Pro) and eating a Hershey’s bar.
Are people really dumb enough to fall for that “lean lipids” nonsense?
This is an honest question. I just don’t get why people are gaa-gaa over this stuff.
Why Muscle Milk? Because it’s the best tasting protein powder on the market. Period. There are plenty of people who believe that all protein supplements are equally effective. You can expect these people to buy the best tasting supplement they can find.
What about the fat in it? Fat doesn’t make you fat; sugar does.
If you read any site besides this one you would see that there are various products and product lines which have their own dedicated followers (just like Biotest & T-Nation!)
Better off getting a Hershey Bar than MM? No, because we’re talking about fat vs. sugar. Maybe you’d be better off getting a Hershey’s in comparison to Surge, with it’s 50g sugar/serving on the other hand…

Aside from trans-fats, there are few foods that are actually “unhealthy” in and of themselves. A doughnut is not “unhealthy”, it simply isn’t going to provide much real form of nutrition.
But doughnuts are the trans-fat kings. They have the most trans-fat of all foods. Yes, I think just one doughnut is unhealthy. Absolutely. 1g of trans fat is bad. A whole boatload in a serving is really, really bad.

I disagree with that and I have used Muscle Milk. It doesn’t taste better than Labrada’s newer Lean Body MRP. I hope that wasn’t your only argument. “Taste” is subjective anyway.

That would depend on what the doughnut was fried in. I’ve made beignets before and I can guarantee there were no trans fats…because I didn’t use any to make them.

Hell, I find that, no, ALL prices at my school BS. I only had it once or twice, but now I’m “off” the stuff, after reading how bad it is here.
A 1/2 gallon of milk is $3. A thing of protein powder with 40 scoops is $30 (average). About $1.13 a cup of Protein drink. I’m aware of the math, they just don’t sell it on campus, and it’s not part of my meal plan.
