To Buckeye girl, I wasn’t the one who introduced my own measley numbers into this thread. That was an entirely different post.
I am not claiming to be very strong or experienced.
I squatted for the 1st time in my life at the age of 31 (my only athletic background was distance running in high school, I was sedentary for over ten years before picking up PLing).
I have less than 100 total squat workouts under my belt.
Still, I can tell when a squat is high and it has nothing to do with camera angles.

Perhaps you should spend more time worrying about getting strong and experienced rather than bitching about what other men, who already are strong and experienced, are doing.
You made some pretty bold statements in your original post. Calling for a ban on monos and multi-ply gear and suggesting that multi-ply has ruined powerlifting.
Have you ever trained with some of the top multi-ply guys and saw just how “weak” they were without their gear? Or hell, have you ever even gone to a multi-ply meet?
And as for the squat depth thing…unless you were there, I don’t want to hear about whether or not you thought it was legit. You’re not going to see the same thing that someone that was there and 5 feet away saw if you’re watching a shitty squat video taken from across the room.
I’m not saying that all lifts that get passed (in ANY fed) are legit, but that’s not up to some guys on the interwebz to decide. If you don’t agree with the judging in one PL fed, you have the ability to choose another that suits you and simply ignore the rest…not go online and start bashing them.
I normally have no business in this section, but come the fuck on OP.
Is there a particular reason you need to restart a debate that we’ve had a million times (and let’s not even talk about the pl boards all over the web) before?
You bashing other people’s achievements or preferences doesn’t make your lack of achievement look any better.
Since when is Powerlifting (or even bodybuilding) about what other people do/can do?

Why does walking out a squat make it more legitimate? I don’t hear anyone complaining about having a liftoff man for the bench press. Nor do I recall any federations stipulating that you have to take a few steps after locking out a deadlift.
We’re testing the ability to lift weight, and the invention of the monolift gets rid of a stupid phase of a movement which is irrelevant to true limit strength.
Donnie Thompson is obviously pathetically weak raw!
It would be like calling out pro BB’ers on their steroid usage. The spectator public demands freakishness in the upper echelon. The big numbers these guys are putting up justify it for them.
Oh, totally fuck yeah it does. I mean, I can’t tell you how many times I have stepped out onto the platform and peered out on a crowd of perhaps 30 or 40 parents, spouses, and girlfriends. These people came see me move big weights. That- along with all the lucrative endorsements… and the groupies, can’t forget the groupies- keeps me coming back to the platform.
