Why Is The 'Right' SO Scared?

Now VP that’s another matter…

George Allen & Rudy?

Hmmmmmmmm.

I’m thinking that George Allen will have a really good shot at the nomination. Him, or Rick Santorum.

Santorum will be raked over the coals by the liberal press. Something on the order of how Newt was demonized.

Now George Allen…that is a possibility.

JTF has brought up some good points and we’ve kind of wandered off the thread. I would like to see more of the stuff about secret prisons, torture, and so forth, brought out into the light of day (as I’m sure most of us would).

I’d like to add that I believe that, in some instances, these things are necessary. If a terrorist plans on setting off a nuke in NYC in 3 hours and I have him/her in my power, I don’t give a rat’s ass for their rights. They WILL tell me where it is. There is a difference in the ethics of emergencies and ‘normal circumstance’ ethics.

First of all I think we should all swallow our pride and congratulate the terrorists on their easy win. I really think we could have won – but the right, apparently too frightened, decided it was better to surrender our American values in order to feel safe.

In the name of fighting terrorism the extreme right or Neocons, were scared so bad that they allowed 19 hijackers to change our entire nation and global policy – secret prisons, torture, domestic spying, treason, erosion of civil liberties and preemptive war, are now considered necessary to fight the war on terrorism. In the words of Cheney:
Cheney warns of ‘decades of war’
US Vice-President Dick Cheney has said that the US must be prepared to fight the war on terror for decades.

Like I said, congratulations.

Think of it another way. To some people in AMERICA – secret prisons, torture, domestic spying, treason, erosion of civil liberties, held without trial, etc and preemptive wars – HAVE STILL NOT CROSSED THE LINE OF WHAT THEY’RE WILLING TO ALLOW IN THE FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISM. In other words they’re willing to give up everything America stands for, and even more apparently, if it will save their lives.

All this time I kept wondering what was so irritatingly familiar about the neocons and suddenly it dawned on me WHAT IT WAS about them!

"My friends, some men are born great. Others achieve greatness. And others are destined to work with rats. I would like to nominate someone who is eminently qualified. A man who was born for this job. A man who can look a rat in the eye and meet him on his own terms. I give you…[/quote]

And what would be the lefts ideas for protecting the US from terrorism without resulting to the extreme measure we have now? And, would you be comfortable that your loved ones would be protected under your leftist plan?

If you don’t have any viable solution to the problem that is better, STFU!

Don’t blame the “liberal” press for the fact that Santorum’s got no shot in hell at the Presidency. This is a man who brought his still-born kid home so his daughters could spend some time with the corpse.

I’ve never heard of anything so fucking creepy.

George Allen…yeah, maybe.

The way I understand it he preferred to have the “mass” at his house in more of a private manner instead of a public display.

I’m surprised that bothers you-

It seems that many liberals like to throw out dead babies like they are so much trash. They do that in the name of FREE CHOICE. So I guess you wouldn’t understand his intentions.

You might be mistaken if you’re talking about the “normal” right, however, the extreme right, in any country, any point in history, originates in a perception of the world based on fear.

Extreme right = individuals driven by fear. Not always acknowledged, perhaps even not always conscious - they might live in fear and not be aware of it. But fear it is nevertheless.

Normal (moderate) right, OTOH, is a valid rational p.o.v. Just like moderate left by the way.
