I’m curious, why are the hatred for that post?

Anyone who would threaten someone for their personal beliefs in no way affecting them has issues.
Because the rabid far left has no patience for anything other than their politically correct agenda. Many of them, if they could get away with it, would in fact try to silence those of us who believe in God just about any way possible.

But none of this is a surprise to me as the Bible predicts that this will occur. In fact, they are acting this way right on cue.
Because the rabid far right has no patience for anything that does not comport lock-step with their religious agenda (you must be saved, you’re damned, etc.). Many of them, and they have gotten away with it, have silenced those that do not believe in their God in just about any way possible, including murder and the burning of books and records.

Does the above sound familiar?
No offense but religious persecution goes both ways.

I’m more inclined to believe in the corruption and evil of human nature than the excuses people use for it.
I don’t think I made any point that would imply that “corruption” does not go both ways. Man is corrupt. We know this. But throughout history, which have we seen? Have we seen atheists campaign against the rights of the religious, to the point of murder, war and censorship? Or have we seen those campaigns waged in the name of religion against another religion? In fact, we are now in the midst of that very dynamic with Islam. Does Christianity have clean hands? When collateral damage in the way of innocent lives occurred in places like Iraq and Afghanistan, do you think those innocents distinguished between America and Christianity in light of our then President’s references to “his God”?

I submit there is a Holy war occurring right now, and Christianity is very much a participant.
Eh, atheists in large quantities have done bad stuff too. I think what we see is the simple matter of statistically, most people believe in god, so most crimes are committed by people who believe in god.

I fully believe that without religion people can and will find other excuses for war.

It’s really an excuse, not a reason. The reason is man himself.
That is the inherent evil in man. It matters not what religion, or even if there is no religion. Man is stained by sin and there is only one way to wash that stain free for eternity and that is through the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ.
It matters not what religion when you are fighting in the name of religion? That’s a curious statement.
Not at all curious. In fact, it’s a very open statement that anyone can fully understand. Shall I simplify it more for you? Okay, man is a sinner PERIOD. Get it yet?

As you probably know by now I am a Christian and I believe that Jesus Christ as the son of God Sacrificed his life on this earth so that through our belief we are saved of our sin.
Yeah, I get it. You don’t. Man is a sinner. We all get that by now. But what about when he uses something like religion to specifically sin? He’s just a simple “sinner” and not possibly misguided by his beliefs? Get it?
Beliefs do not play into this. One final time? Man is a sinner. That sentence alone covers it all. Got it?

No, YOU have to consider all “alleged truths.” I’ve done my research, I’ve studied many different religions. I’ve made my choice and it is to be a Christians. So none of that applies to me.

I can believe that the purple spaghetti god will bless the universe for all eternity when the conjoined twins get separated and rejoined.

I can write a book about it. I understand enough about psychology, marketing and sales that I could probably create a “flock” of followers. AWWWW, I’m sorry, did my PROFANITY offend you? Is MY profanity greater than YOUR faith? Is it that OFFENSIVE?

Do you want to know what I find offensive? All of the people KILLED in the name of Jesus Christ. That’s what I fucking find offensive!

Jerusalem was conquered on 7/15/1099 more than 60,000 victims (Jewish, Muslim, men, women, children). In the words of one witness: “there [in front of Solomon’s temple] was such a carnage that our people were wading ankle-deep in the blood of our foes”, and after that “happily and crying for joy our people marched to our Saviour’s tomb, to honour it and to pay off our debt of gratitude.”

â?¢The Archbishop of Tyre, eye-witness, wrote: “It was impossible to look upon the vast numbers of the slain without horror; everywhere lay fragments of human bodies, and the very ground was covered with the blood of the slain. It was not alone the spectacle of headless bodies and mutilated limbs strewn in all directions that roused the horror of all who looked upon them. Still more dreadful was it to gaze upon the victors themselves, dripping with blood from head to foot, an ominous sight which brought terror to all who met them. It is reported that within the Temple enclosure alone about ten thousand infidels perished.”

â?¢Christian chronicler Eckehard of Aura noted that “even the following summer in all of Palestine the air was polluted by the stench of decomposition”.

Here’s a FEW more:

â?¢As soon as Christianity became legal in the Roman Empire by imperial edict (315), more and more pagan temples were destroyed by Christian mob. Pagan priests were killed.

â?¢Between 315 and 6th century thousands of pagan believers were slain.

â?¢Christian priests such as Mark of Arethusa or Cyrill of Heliopolis were famous as “temple destroyers”.

â?¢Pagan services became punishable by death in 356.

â?¢Christian Emperor Theodosius (408-450) even had children executed, because they had been playing with remains of pagan statues.

â?¢In 6th century pagans were declared void of all rights.

â?¢In the early fourth century the philosopher Sopatros was executed on demand of Christian authorities.

â?¢The world famous female philosopher Hypatia of Alexandria was torn to pieces with glass fragments by a hysterical Christian mob led by a Christian minister named Peter, in a church, in 415.

â?¢Emperor Karl (Charlemagne) in 782 had 4500 Saxons, unwilling to convert to Christianity, beheaded.

â?¢Peasants of Steding (Germany) unwilling to pay suffocating church taxes: between 5,000 and 11,000 men, women and children slain 5/27/1234 near Altenesch,Germany.

â?¢15th century Poland: 1019 churches and 17987 villages plundered by Knights of the Order. Number of victims unknown.

â?¢16th and 17th century Ireland. English troops “pacified and civilized” Ireland, where only Gaelic “wild Irish”, “unreasonable beasts lived without any knowledge of God or good manners, in common of their goods, cattle, women, children and every other thing.” One of the more successful soldiers, a certain Humphrey Gilbert, half-brother of Sir Walter Raleigh, ordered that “the heddes of all those (of what sort soever thei were) which were killed in the daie, should be cutte off from their bodies… and should bee laied on the ground by eche side of the waie”, which effort to civilize the Irish indeed caused “greate terrour to the people when thei sawe the heddes of their dedde fathers, brothers, children, kinsfolke, and freinds on the grounde”.
Tens of thousands of Gaelic Irish fell victim to the carnage.

â?¢First Crusade: 1095 on command of pope Urban II

â?¢Until January 1098 a total of 40 capital cities and 200 castles conquered (number of slain unknown)

â?¢After Antiochia (then Turkey) conquered, between 10,000 and 60,000 slain. A month later 100,000 Turks (incl. women and children) killed. Here the Christians “did no other harm to the women found in [the enemy’s] tents - save that they ran their lances through their bellies,” according to Christian chronicler Fulcher of Chartres.

â?¢Marra (Maraat an-numan) thousands killed. Because of the subsequent famine “the already stinking corpses of the enemies were eaten by the Christians” said chronicler Albert Aquensis.

â?¢Battle of Askalon, 8/12/1099. Thousands of heathens slaughtered “in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ”.

â?¢Fourth crusade: 4/12/1204 Constantinople sacked, number of victims unknown, numerous thousands, many of them Christian.

â?¢Richard the Lionhearted executed 3,000 Muslem POWs.

On command of pope Innocent III (the greatest single mass murderer prior to the Nazi era) in 1209. Beziérs (today France) 7/22/1209 destroyed, all the inhabitants were slaughtered. Number of victims (including Catholics refusing to turn over their heretic
neighbors and friends) estimated between 20,000-70,000.

â?¢Subsequent 20 years of war until nearly all Cathars (probably half the population of the Languedoc, today southern France) were exterminated.

â?¢After the war ended (1229) the Inquisition was founded 1232 to search and destroy surviving/hiding heretics. Last Cathars burned at the stake 1324

â?¢Other heresies: Waldensians, Paulikians, Runcarians, Josephites, and many others. Most of these sects exterminated, (I believe some Waldensians live today, yet they had to endure 600 years of persecution) I estimate at least hundred thousand victims (including the Spanish inquisition but excluding victims in the New World).

â?¢Spanish Inquisitor Torquemada, a former Dominican friar, allegedly was responsible for 10,220 burnings.

â?¢John Huss, a critic of papal infallibility and indulgences, was burned at the stake in 1415

â?¢Michael Sattler, leader of a baptist community, was burned at the stake in Rottenburg, Germany, May 20, 1527. Several days later his wife and other follwers were also executed.

â?¢University professor B.Hubmaier burned at the stake 1538 in Vienna.

â?¢Giordano Bruno, Dominican monk, after having been incarcerated for seven years, was burned at the stake for heresy on the Campo dei Fiori (Rome) on 2/17/1600.

â?¢Thomas Aikenhead, a twenty-year-old scottish student of Edinburgh University, was hanged for atheism and blasphemy.

â?¢In the era of witch hunting (1484-1750) according to modern scholars several hundred thousand (about 80% female) burned at the stake or hanged.

HOW ABOUT JEWISH PERSICUTION?

â?¢1257, 1267: Jewish communities of London, Canterbury, Northampton, Lincoln, Cambridge, and others exterminated.

â?¢1290 Bohemia (Poland) allegedly 10,000 Jews killed

â?¢1337 Starting in Deggendorf/Germany a Jew-killing craze reaches 51 towns in Bavaria, Austria, Poland.

1348 All Jews of Basel/Switzerland and Strasbourg/France (two thousand) burned.

â?¢1349 In more than 350 towns in Germany all Jews murdered, mostly burned alive (in this one year more Jews were killed than Christians in 200 years of ancient Roman persecution of Christians).

â?¢1389 In Prag 3,000 Jews were slaughtered.

â?¢1391 Seville’s Jews killed (Archbishop Martinez leading). 4,000 were slain, 25,000 sold as slaves. Their identification was made easy by the brightly colored “badges of shame” that all Jews above the age of ten had been forced to wear.

â?¢1492 In the year Columbus set sail to conquer a New World, more than 150,000 Jews were expelled from Spain, many died on their way: 6/30/1492.

1648 Chmielnitzki massacres: In Poland about 200,000 Jews were slain

This goes on and on, century after century, right into the kilns of Auschwitz.

HOW ABOUT THE SETTLEMENT OF THE “NEW WORLD”? “When the 16th century ended, some 200,000 Spaniards had moved to the Americas. By that time probably more than 60,000,000 natives were dead.”

I think I’ll stop there. THAT’s what I find offensive about Christianity.

But I’m sure you are praying for my soul. You should be fucking praying for your own soul for subscribing to such a bloodthirsty religion.

“nature of existence”

You must have missed the qualifier before existence.
Clarify, then.
Why/how you exist. Meaning. metaphysical origin. First cause (or belief in no first cause). perpetual existence. Existence in and of itself. Infinite regress. est.
Ok, now take all those blurbs and make them into sentences.
I was attempting an expanded definition of the “nature of origin” they don’t need to be sentences.

Still avoiding the argument, apparently resorting to semantics at this point.
No, I’m asking you to clarify what you’re fucking saying.

Are you saying me believing I exist is the same as someone believing in god?
Are you saying me believing I exist is stupid?
Are you questioning how I can believe anything, if its questionable if I even exist?

Your sentence made very little sense and left your meaning vague. Instead of “expanding the definition” of one phrase, please e-lab-or-ate.

He likes this phrase “the likes of you” and his good Christian heart uses if often. It usually accompanies personal attacks. This good God fearing Jesus following Christian is the embodiment of Christ like love and tolerance. He is so busy turning the other cheek to the “likes of you” (and me) that the poor fellow has whiplash. You use profanity = bad man. no hatred, just dislike
no threatening, just a wish

If his personnal relationship with God doesnt affect my lifestyle, everything is fine.

On the topic of religion I dont know if there is a God. I believe there is some kind of supreme truth that is way over our head. I dont know if you can call it God. I dont believe in any kind of organized religion and their construction. I dont believe life is a story that was meant to be experienced in a human perspective either.

But one thing I know for sure is that if you claim you to communicate with God you are crazy. It is borderline dangerous.

It’s all the same shit. They BOTH believe that ALL people (including new born babies) are sinners. They BOTH believe that Jesus “died to save us” and was “resurrected”. They BOTH believe that Jesus’ mother was a virgin (yeah, right! SURE she was! LOL). They BOTH believe that all you have to do is “ask forgiveness” and you will be just fine - in other words, they have no sense of responsibility. They BOTH believe that anyone who is NOT a “good Christian” will burn in Hell for eternity.

And I don’t know why I used the word “BOTH”… There are so many “sects” of “Christianity”, how the hell is one more “right” than the other? Do the Presbyterians have it right? How about the Methodists? Or the Lutherans? Let’s not forget the Pentecostals (let’s speak in tongues and roll around on the floor and pretend God is talking THROUGH us!) Or the Anglicans (or the Baptists while were at it!) Then we have our Adventists, our Mormons and the Good Old Roman Catholics… (and those are just the one’s I can think of without googling it) If Y’ALL can’t agree on what is correct, how do any of you expect to be taken seriously?

I mean HISTORY happened a certain way. ONE WAY. The ONLY way to account for ALL the varying traditions of Christianity is to accept that MAN is twisting it somehow. If one of those is “right”, then it means that ALL of the other versions are “wrong”. Which one? If no one can agree, then that’s a pretty strong case for it ALL being bullshit.

Silly Christians.

You did get a few points in there right though. That’s better than some others have done. Another new guy for my T-Nation prayer list. Before you aim your litany of cocksure questions at me? Please click on my name and look at my past posts as they’ve all likely been addressed.

Gtfo

I hope I’ll never meet you IRL.

Well, you walked right around that one didn’t ya? Okay, let’s name the wars committed in the name of atheism shall we? You start, because I cannot think of any. Having a war for other reasons (such as Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor and other wars) is not the same as a conflict over religion. We have had those, haven’t we? Yes or no?
We have wars over resources or power or territory or skin color or culture or politics est. The reasons for conflict are endless.

It could also be as much said people going to war over religion are doing so because of a lack of the influence of peaceful religion/churches.

You are also ignoring the fact that even if a war is motivated by religion, it doesn’t make it necessarily unjust.

Additionally, you could argue that many people are motivated to the Just side of war by a moral obligation to religion.

You didn’t answer my question. You confused it. Eternity is not necessarily “time” anyway. See what you did there? You brought your hard wiring to the discussion  We do not yet understand time. Our best understanding is that time is movement, and that is probably inadequate. That said, I do not believe “eternity” is time.
Its a confusing question. But I did answer it with the last sentence.

But how do you go about defining eternity without time?

So, if I believe I exist, is that “stupid faith”?

I was expanding the definition of a term I used. “nature of existence”. I defined it.

So, looking at what I wrote, the answers to your questions are no, no and no. I never said any of that.

If I asked you about the nature of a sport, I am not asking you to question whether that sport ever took place or not. That is dumb.

But you can’t PROVE shit.

I can believe that the purple spaghetti god will bless the universe for all eternity when the conjoined twins get separated and rejoined.

I can write a book about it. I understand enough about psychology, marketing and sales that I could probably create a “flock” of followers. I could even kill people who challenged my assertion and call them “blasphemers” and excommunicate them and effectively ostracize them from the society I helped create (you know, because I converted a King or a Leader).

I could stifle science for years, and crucify people, burn people, torture people, wage wars on countries over my “holy land” (let’s call it Baltimore).

ALL of this is very similar to Christianity. Only a few minor details have been changed. But the MAIN similarity of the two is that it’s ALL BULLSHIT. None of it can be proven. None of it can be even reasonable argued! LOL
YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT THE FUCK YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT SINNER!!!

The spaghetti God is RED! Fucking asshole. That’s the problem with all you purple God believing heathens. You’re all going to hell. See if your “purple” God will save you! There is only one salvation for your pitiful soul AC and that is to accept the one and true Red Spaghetti God before it’s too late. Even though you’re going to burn in hell for an eternity, I still love you and I shall pray for you.
And this is why most serious posters don’t really take you seriously. But you know that right> Right?
LOL and who would the “most serious posters” be? You? You’re a clown.
No actually when it comes to a discussion of spiritual matters YOU are the clown. You are barely more acceptable than that other profane retard that you try to emulate.

You’re an idiot. You write like an idiot and you think like an idiot. And unfortunately it’s not a ruse, you just can’t do any better.

No “we’re” not wondering. YOU are speaking alone, as usual. And if you were actually smart enough to realize the undertone of laughter and sometimes disdain for what you write you probably wouldn’t post anymore. But not nearly smart enough to make those observations. No problem however to me you are just cheap entertainment, so carry on.
