Why Do You Lift?

Originally for football, then wanting to look good, now to be strong and fight stress and other miscellaneous shit

for the poon

I see everyone getting weak, fat and out of shape and I think “fuck that”. I don’t want to end up like that. Also to improve my chances of getting pussy.

I like the feeling when I progress to lifting 5 or ten pounds more than I did a few weeks before a given session. I like pushing myself past my limits and then going home and eating a shitload of food. Those things and the fact enjoy movement cuz sitting still bores me.

I was sick of being a scrawny kid. Simple as. And the compliements alone I’ve gotten over the past few months are nearly enough to motivate me to do this the the next few years

Just got tired of being small and weak man. Now, it’s downright addictive. And, I’m still getting bigger and stronger. It’s not just a hobby you know. :slight_smile:

I’d like to eventually compete in strongman competitions, but for now I’m just training lose 80 pounds of chubby and gain 80 pounds of badass.

I don’t lift, I just troll the forums. People actually lift heavy things? Amazing. What does it feel like? Does it hurt? How hard is it? Will I get too big if I do it? Will people think I’m drinking steroids? WILL I be drinking steroids? What if I fart while lifting at the gym? Do other people fart while lifting at the gym?

What if a hot girl at the gym looks at me and I pee my pants? What if an ugly girl at the gym looks at me and I pee my pants? There are just so many questions I need answered before I would ever consider doing something like lifting.

I lift because I’ve finally found a physical activity I feel I can do well at (I was never a great talent at running and I don’t have the coordination for team sports.) I want to be strong. I want to outdo people. It’s the closest thing I can get to the martial daydreams of my childhood. It wouldn’t hurt if along the way I got to look like someone who trains. Essentially I want to be Zoe from Firefly.

At first it was to get into shape, but then I like most of the others here fell in love with it.
