Yeah, So what if it’s been talked about before! Isn’t that what this whole site is about. Sharing what people have learned so they can stay motivated and driven to find the ceiling of there genetic potentional. I so far haven’t read anything earth shattering about anything on this site or any other. I have been at this a long time and have done more in my days than most could ever comprehend. Theyjust change the name, the tempo the what ever. I still love reading it, re-visiting it, re-discovering things I’ve forgotten about.
Why bodybuilding? Why not? I believe Arnold said it a long time ago …it’s not body shaping, toning, strength training, functional what ever… it’s all BODYBUILDING isn’t it.
I want to be the guy they say man that cat has always looked good at 65-75-85yrs old what ever. It’s a journey for life.
Why do I do it? It is a time when I am in contol of my life. I can beat my self to a pulp and choose to do it all over again the next day.
I want to be the influence of others to think about their own health and well being. I can tell you how many times I have had people almost confess their healthless sins to me. I don’t have to say anything they just start confessing how long it’s been since they have been in the gym, how much weight they have gained in the last year, etc… Hasn’t this happened to all of you at some point. You are an influence to others. Why did you read this thread? You wanted to hear what people said. For the so called hard core guys few times on my quest to get bigger did I not only want to get stronger, better!!!
Another reason is that I am modeling a behavior I hope my children will seek out for themselves. Being fit will come as naturally to them as eating good food, brushing their teeth, etc…
I think if you think this topic gets old than you really shouldn’t be here. As cheesey as it sounds, I chose to chime in because I love bodybuilding it is part of who I have become (I chose to become). I am so glad this sight is around I can’t tell you how many clowns I see in the gym walking around with their head up their #%^! With all the info available people still don’t educate themselves. If reading some of this helps someone…God bless them!!! We are all here to help one another!
Good Thread! I don’t care how many times it’s been done.
Musclegym, good point on bodybuilding also being a way to encourage others (especially your children) to adopt a healthy lifestyle. I’ve noticed my kids asking about what is the healthiest thing on the menu, have taken them to workout a few times in the gym, etc. I think the message is so much more powerful when you lead by example rather than by words alone.
Oh man, i remember when i had a thing for this girl back in 9th grade, and i noticed how she would always hang around ripped guys. I was a 190lb fatass, so I knew I didnt have a chance unless I started working out. 4 years later, I don’t even remember her name, but in that time I fell in love with another girl, and we’ve been solid for the better part of 4 years, and I don’t regret a single moment I’ve spent with her. It’s not a real girl, just the weights in my gym…
every one has their reasons. I don’t care what brings you to the weightroom, you are there… make the best of it. I remember an old coach saying they didn’t want mirrors in the new high school weight room. He didn’t want kids sitting around staring at themselves.
I said what the heck do I care if their looking at themselves if that makes them happy and want to go to the weightroom , then but mirrors on the ceiling and floor too who cares… I’m pretty sure when I was their age I was checking my self in the mirror and I still am.
