U.S. Blacks are on average more likely to be mesomorphs they have higher testosterone levels (on average) and have a higher % of fast twitch muscle fibres on average!
Yet while they were quick to dominate sports like sprinting (when they were allowed to compete) they seem to consistently get out performed in strength sports by white men!
Black people have an inferior capacity for strengthenosity, as a direct result of their viscous, chlorophyll-based blood supply, the absence of cytosine and guanine from their DNA, and having tangerine-sized hearts which are missing several key valves and atria.

Why aren’t there very many black people in hockey?
My thinking is that there are more role models/idols to look up to in basketball and football who are African America when compared to hockey.
I agree fuzzy…Don’t forget how expensive it is to play hockey. My son played football for three years and registration was something like $150, hockey for houseleauge was $400 plus the equipment and travel etc. Rinks take up alot of real estate as well.

it’s a water sport; my people don’t do well in water sports (if we could swim we wouldn’t be here…)
Hockey isn’t a water sport, what the hell? It’s a winter sport, which is something most black people don’t do (insert racist comment about black people hating cold weather). Just like there’s very few black skiers/snowboarders or (except for the 1988 Jamaican team) Bobsledders

It was a satirical joke man … tongue in cheek to the stereotype that black people can’t swim … duh
Man, whatever happened to having a sense of humor?

Yes, another reason is cost of trying to get into it. Main reason why I couldn’t anymore play was the cost of it. Baseball is another affordable sport for kids and there are many African Americans that play it as well in the MLB.
where do you get your stats on blacks and higher testosterone as well as fast twitch fibers? It may appear visually to be true, but that may or may not be the case.
Strength is a function of muscle and consistently progressing, lifting heavy, and supplying energy to lift heavy. When you look at white people that win strength sports they generally grow up in environments where you start lifting heavy at a young age. Whether it’s a farm in Idaho, or a dungeon gym that their grandfather, father and them trained in. Combine them with a different diets, whether it’s steak and potatoes or spaghetti meatballs, they tend to have higher calorie diets consisting of quality food.
This can be seen even among black people from different environments, black people from say new york city on average tend to be smaller then from texas or certain areas of the south. You have a higher percentage of black people who are vegan, or don’t eat beef and pork in NYC.
Take it a step further and more stereo typical if you look at extreme urban areas where parents are not home and kids eat less many are even smaller from lack of calories, or extremely large but mostly fat from eating junk corner store food. Environment tends to be the number one fact in why groups of people end up a certian way or do a certian thing.
More black kids don’t want to use steriods then white. It’s starting to change now as more athletes are getting caught, but I had only one kid in my HS using roids growing up early 90’s. He was profootball material at 16, strength was through the roof jumping ability, hand speed in boxing, and he was about 5’7 235 10-15% body fat.
One person mentioned he might be using everybody was like hellll no black people don’t use that shit. It wasn’t until 5 years later when I met his dealer that it ever even cross my mind he used. I have a few more cases, but it’s just an example of the stigma and lack of education on steriods that WAS in the black community. With steriods and WSM gaining popularity, I’m guessing the seperation between white and black strength athletes is going to change.
The only difference that I can recall from school, was that the muscle density of African Americans was slightly, and I mean ever so slightly higher than that of Caucasians. Other than that, all other factors were consistent.
I thought the notion was the darker you skin pigmentation the more fast twitch muscle fibers you have? I heard or read this some place but cannot recall where.

So by getting a tan I increase the number of fast twitch muscle fibers I have? I’ve heard that darker skin makes definition more apparent, which is why blacks of the same build as a white person appear bigger even though they’re actually the same size.

No, not what I mean by that. Without a tan but way to think outside the box

actually MLB is majorly concerned with the fact that black youths arent playing baseball and the number of MLB black players has shrunk and is continuing to diminish.
I have played hockey my whole life. Its just such an expensive sport with very little publicity(in the US) and few notable stars in general and even rarer are black NHL stars. For these reasons and others hockey cannot get attract blacks to play.
