Agreed, your a pussy.
Really? I live in Oklahoma right now. A very large % of the people who use my services go to church twice a week. Most are homophobes. If they found out I was an atheist I would lose business. How is that being a pussy?
I do business with people in OKC all the time. I’m an Orthodox Jewish guy. They don’t care.
So what? They still see you as a man of faith, your situation doesn’t apply here.
You guys should start the ‘Whiny Atheists’ club. Waaaaah! Christians are just so, so mean! They just hate us because we’re different.
The utter ridiculousness of this is killing me. I say you lobby Washington for minority status. Politicians aren’t ones to turn a blind eye to the most silly of notions.
What exactly is ridiculous to you?
All we ask is you don’t legislate your book of fairytales into law and stop discriminating on the basis of faith (or in this case the lack of faith).
What exactly is so hard about being a Christian in America today?
It’s ridiculous because it’s all imagined. I am very much for secular government and separation of church and state.
And you believe the biggest fairy tale of all, that nothing can magically make something happen.
All this supposed ‘discrimination’ is made up bullshit…
Go ahead tell me what have Christians done to you? Knock on your door? Ooooo. Hand you a Bible? Oh scary!
Even though I explained this in a previous thread you’re still just going to ignore what I say and persist with your asinine comments. But I’ll try one more time.
Atheists/non-secular America is roughly 16% of the population yet there is 0 representation in government. There are and there have been Muslim, Hindu, and Jewish senators but no atheists. Atheists outnumber Jews and Hindus in America and probably Muslims but I’d have to check that last one.
The other day I came across a study that showed Americans would rather elect an openly muslim president before an atheist. Does this not stand out to you? Do you not see there is a stigma with openly being an atheist in society? What do you think the OP is talking about? Do you think we are all lying?
I’m sure this is going to be ignored just like it was when I first said it.
So do you find it tough being a Christian in America? Is it tough being a Christian?
Should I call you a Wah-mbulance? Seriously, get over it.
Tell me whiny, how ‘hard’ is it to be an atheist? Anybody try to kill you? You afraid to leave your house? Are you getting death threats? What are those big, bad meany Christians doing to you?
Maybe you should start a campaign to change hearts and minds about atheism…Oh wait, it’s not a religion. You believe in nothing and it is a nothing.
Yup I was right, addressing actual facts is not your strong point. 2+2=/= 4 amirite?
Tell me, how many times has someone tried to kill you for being a Christian in America?
The only thing that is coming from this debate in condescending comments rearding how much atheists complain about inequality. Actually my main issue is with the blatent and very public discrimination against gays, which has somehow been avoided in this whole thread. Maybe there is a reason for that? It’s still ok to hate gay people in America.
We’re making progress. The majority of Americans now support gay marriage, and several states have legalized gay marriage. Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell has been trashed for the discriminatory policy it was. The Defense of Marriage Act is currently under judicial scrutiny as being unconstitutional. Being gay is far less the stigma that it used to be, and prominent celebrities and politicians have chosen to come out. We have a long way to go yet, but I feel fortunate to live now and see the progress firsthand.
