It seems to me that longer esters are superior, for the longest time I didn’t have access to longer esters since all that was available was UGL enanthate and pharma-sustanon, and UGL prop.
On UGL prop is where I probably feel the worst, I have hyper-aggressive confidence (but at the same time very low self-esteem) and high emotional instability, in the times where I experimented with prop TRT is probably where I felt my worst, especially in social situations. The best way I can describe it is short ester testosterone feels like being on a high androgen low estrogen cycle (despite not being on any AI). It was like a huge wave of ups and downs.
On Sustanon I feel okay, i’d say around a 5-6/10, injecting daily to EOD; The huge issue with Sustanon is the amount of solvents used in the oil (similar to the propionate) and it would spike my inflammation markers (CRP), also Sustanon still had that Low E2 feeling (despite maybe not being low in E2; though I didn’t check blood work but I don’t take any AI anyway), I just feel like short esters in general make me feel weird.
On Enanthate, I felt better in terms of social situations (more self esteem & confidence), I didn’t have that “overly aggressive” sense of well-being and ups & downs that I did on propionate, I just felt more emotionally stable. Also, my joints felt 1000x better on enanthate than it did on Sustanon & propionate which I found bizarre. And no, it’s not placebo because I’ve been experimenting for YEARS and the results have been consistent.
Now, I was finally able to get my hands on UGL cypionate from the same source. Two things I immediately noticed: the oil was slightly thicker and a lot less synthetic solvents were used (if any). How did I know this? Well according to vigorous steve on YouTube if you rub the oil with the ink markings on your insulin syringe and the ink smudges off then you have a highly processed/synthetic product on your hands. And what did I find? With the cypionate the ink on my insulin syringe does not smudge off at all unlike propionate and enanthate. Apparently, longer ester testosterone requires less solvents overall.
Anyway, on Cypionate I finally felt what others have reported on how they feel like on TRT, more stable, smooth energy, higher lust/ambition for life in general. These are things that have been missing in my life for the longest time and no other esters were able to match how I feel like on Cypionate. I have no idea if it has anything to do with the ester length or if it was the lack of solvents used, but it has definitely been an eye opening experience. I’m actually interested to see if I feel even better on a decanoate or undecanoate ester, but I don’t think I’m getting my hands on that anytime soon since they aren’t that common and my source doesn’t have them.
My libido on propionate was up & down, I’d be hyper sexual one day and the other I had no libido at all. I have a more stable libido on enanthate, I think doing things like No-Fap, abstaining from porn and experimenting with DHEA and pregnenolone had a higher impact on Libido than managing estrogen did. But, everyone is different and it is so variable so I can’t really tell you what works and what doesn’t definitively.
Some men are more sensitive to fluctuations in hormones. You didn’t give your injection schedule for each ester, but I would bet its the smoother profile of the long ester that your body likes better.
I’ve been on this self-experimentation for years, I tried every single kind of dose-injection frequency schedule. I’m currently on EOD Cypionate and previously I was on daily prop, EOD Enanthate and EOD Sustanon. You may be right though, my body probably does work better on a smoother slower testosterone ester.
What is DHEA and Pregenolone for? These names are familiar for me. I may have see youtuber talking about it already. This is necessary to have libido on TRT?
Its all weird because test is test, its the same drug. Unless you are doing like once a week injections, after like first 2-3 months on, there shouldnt be any difference.
Look up vigorous steve, DHEA and pregnenolone. Quality information, for me I had my best libido when I was on HCG only, but everything else wasn’t good (T levels, energy, etc.) HCG produces DHEA & pregnenolone, but I never tried to take them in their pure forms so I can’t comment if that works or not. HCG with test combined spikes my estrogen too high and my libido is non existent.
I really don’t think so, I think there needs to be more research done. Me and plenty of others have seen a significant difference in how we feel on different esters of testosterone despite being told the classic “test is test”. But many have observed differences in aromatization between different esters, I definitely hold a lot more water on enanthate & cypionate than I do on propionate regardless of dose and that is a fact.
There wont be more research done because it is the same chemical.
And people often report different problems or differences but those are not backed up by bloodwork. For example, stuff like this never comes up for high dose blasters. Its mostly TRT guys whose problems by default are much more in their mind, rather than hormonal.
Guys sometimes take less test than they produced naturally and report results. Mind is a great tool.
I feel exactly the opposite. on propionate - my libido is way higher. morning wood ED for 2h at a time, more energy, less anxiety, more confidence. on cyp i just feel off. similar doses.
It is the same chemical, yes, but I do believe the ester holds greater significance than most people realize. I don’t think we should chalk it up to placebo, when there are no studies out there disproving what I’m claiming with many who agree with me, and actually a study from 1954 that shows that longer esters are more anabolic than shorter esters and that they aromatize more. I won’t take that study as anything significant since it’s outdated and the results may be questionable given it’s 70 years old, but I will say that it’s interesting and requires more research in my opinion. It would be interesting for a modern replication of that study, but one thing is true it probably will never happen like you said.
Everyone is different I guess, may I ask what your SHBG levels are at?
My libido is better on daily prop also, but the negative drawbacks on my mood, sense of well-being etc. makes cypionate way more worth it. Also, it might be because UGL test prop has so many synthetic solvents that causes systemic inflammation. If your based in the US, most UGL test are brewed with organic carrier oils thus it might affect the way you feel in terms of inflammation and side effects.
11 SHBG
my ugl comes with MCT oil. TBH i think it is better then pharma stuff.
although I will switch to a legit prop based on grape seed oil next.
i prefer MCT
When we talk about the libido it is super important to understand what is and what isnt low libido. Many times, people who claim low libido, could dig into some internet porn, and find the nastiest thing they like, with the hottest girl they can find, and… guess what… they suddenly do have libido.
Unless you can watch like 15mins of your favourite porn, and you dont even get an itch in your pants, hormones are not a problem.
Many times people who sign up for trt are actually also bored of their partner, therefore - low libido. Men are not designed to have and continue wanting the same female.
So in case of “low libido” always do the porn experiment. Browse your favorite stuff for 15mins and see that the libido is completely fine.
‘men are not designed’ - absolute nonsense. men and woman are 100% designed to stick it out. it is just that the demoralized fucked up society bombards mens minds with bullshit like porn.
and advertising porn - which will absolutely destroy your libido with time, is another garbage advice.
First of all, i didnt say to use porn, i said to test it out for 15mins once to see if its actually libido problem.
But what you said about men being designed to want 1 female their whole lives goes against everything science has on evolution of every species, humans included. I understand you might not like it, but there are books written on this, lmao.
