Why Do Europeans Hate Us?

Repeat in front of the mirror.

Of course, within a few minutes, Orion then proclaims that it is not worthy–and certainly not expedient–to search for, to try, to examine–leave alone punish–the responsible individuals. Alll can be excused for expediency or politics. After all, the millions will not live again, and history can be erased and changed at will.
So it was in 1945, as in 2007. Hypocrisy.

(Again: “Hypocrisy is the homage that vice pays to virtue.”)

But, for Orion, if those people are American–whether in error or not–and transgress his moral relativism–watch out! The Nation be damned!!!

If it means so much to you, join the Wiesenthal organisation and hunt every last Nazi down.

If you have anything please forward it to the next Austrian embassy.

Meanwhile people are dying every day because you smashed their country to pieces.

But yeah, the Nazis were so much worse.

Hide behind that long enough and your death toll exceeds theirs.

What then?

so you justify doing some bad shit by saying that some other people did some even badder shit before you?

No.

But we DO expect the assholes who did the “badder shit” to show a little humility and to NOT take a self-righteous, pompous, arrogant attitude toward us.

That is actually no problem.

Since they are all dead and stuff…

Anything else?

No, they are not “all dead and stuff,” asshole. In fact, thanks to the generation of YOU and YOUR FATHER, the living ones aren’t all even imprisoned. And many died quite comfortable because YOU and YOUR father never had the integrity to see them prosecuted for their crimes.

More importantly, MILLIONS of their victims still live (and suffer).

So don’t act like your hands are “all clean and stuff.”

Oh yeah, you asked if there was anything else: Why don’t you tell me exactly when it is that a nation ceases being responsible for any heinous acts it commits, OK?

Also, I’d like to know what the Great Whorion is personally doing to make the world a better place. You seem chock full of criticisms; are you actually DOING anything? Besides your impressive effort to change the world via posting on a bodybuilding site, that is.

OK, if you actually meet an old SS officer talking down to you you have a right to be annoyed.

Then, millions of their victims still live?

Hardly.

I cannot speak for my father but I will definitely not waste my time chasing down senile old farts that are not fit for a trial anyway.

A nation is never responsible for anything, people are. Since I was born 30 years after Auschwitz I feel no responsibility whatsoever.

Finally, I do not need to make the world a better place. Not being part of a society that makes the world living hell for hundreds of thousands of people is actually enought for me.

I do not aspire to be a saint but since you like the Nazis so much I do not want to be a “Mitläufer” either.

Wow. Your patheticness is truly awe-inspiring.

I used to wonder how your “ancestors” could do the things they did.

If other Austrians are as full of callousness, denial and inhumanity as you, I don’t need to wonder anymore.

“Master race,” my ass. You’re little more than a cold, egotistical narcissist who likes to pretend that he matters.

Again, may God have mercy on any good people who have to deal with you in real life.[/quote]

If you have anything that at least resembles an argument feel free to post it.

Perhaps I am indeed part of Wiesenthal organization, or Doctors Without Borders, or any number of pacifiist groups or humanitarian organizations in America or abroad. You wouldn’t know otherwise from reading my posts.

But instead you paint me with the same anti-american brush.
And if you were truly a responsible person, and not just an internet blowhard with delusions of wit and significance, you would found the" Austrian League of Lawyers without Jobs" and ensure that Rumsfeld comes to justice, or that Kosovo is not again lost to genocide through the studied neglect by central Europeans.

Feel free to act. You have been free to pass wind thus far.

i’m going to go out on a limb here and say i’m on orions side (side is a poor choice of words though).
firstly i see a person, not a nationality. and i’d prefer to associate his nationality with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Sigmund Freud or Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I am neither a lawyer nor am I unemployed.

I also do not get why I have to get out to try to make the world a better place- as I posted I feel no need to make the world a better place for mankind…

…BUT my country also does not destroy whole societies here and now, not in my name , not with my money, not on my watch.

Yours does, on your watch.

See, maybe I do not help little brown babies but at least I do not make them orphans or destroy their water supply, or make it next to imposible for them to get medical aid, or make their country a training ground for 4th generation warfare or nation building…

Not being part of a mass murdering enterprise is enough for me at the moment, but thank you for your concern.

One step after the other…

Since nuking a country with 2% of your GNP is an option that “clearly” must remain on the table, you could make up the difference in numbers in one convenient attack.

I had no idea. Thanks for posting that.

Was this intended as an ironic post, perhaps?
Lets examine Orion’s prideful list and consider which were expelled by Austrians–good Austrians like Schuschnig and Hitler:

Freud, Adler, Kokoschka, Schonberg, Menger (the son), von Mises, Hayek, Schumpeter, Popper, Wittgenstein, Godel, Schrodinger, Wiesenthal…

(Jung was Swiss and most of the remainder were, or course, not alive to witness Austrian pride in their accomplishments.)

Whether American, or indeed Austrian, where one takes pride can it shine unalloyed to shame?

Great quote. LOL.

We’re all waiting for your advice.

Better yet, Orion, how would you feel if middle eastern muslim extremists hijacked 4 planes full of innocent passengers and flew them into Austria’s most proud landmarks. What would you expect your country to do and how would you and your country react?

…i’m sure that would suck, and on 9/11 i was shocked just like alot of people were. Would i see that as a justification for starting a war on a country [Iraq] that had nothing to do with it? No, absolutely not. Would i want to mastermind behind the scheme to be found and brought to shame? Yes, very much so. Why did the US government think it was best to attack Iraq instead of capturing Bin Laden?

We would kick the shit out of Liechtenstein?

You have to understand, when it comes to countries that had nothing to do with it our options are limited.

Sure, because it shows the dangers of Big Government.

Small country, small government, harmless-

Big Country, Big Government, Murdering Moloch…
