Lol yeah I got it I was just messin around.
Anyway I have glanced through this thread and seems to be mostly about the 1st and 2nd amendment.
Freedom of speech is of utmost importance, and I believe I shouldnāt face legal consequences if for defending myself/ my family in my home.
But what about doing coke off a hookerās ass cheeks? Can you do that in America without facing legal consequences? No? Then you aināt FREE!
Hell yeah you can. The police are rarely around in those situations, and when they are the lieutenant is usually next up on a line.
Well Iām glad to hear it, then.
Party on wayne.
Ceasar, nebuchednezzer, Ramses, Napoleon, Lenin, Stalin, Mussolini, longshank, Castro, Hitler, chavez, just to name a few that took away freedoms of the people and overcame them
Iāll add washington, jefferson, jackson, and many many other americans to that list. Hell, even FDR.
I think in most of those cases, they were already in power.
And how did they get in power
Even Bush with the Patriot act
I would say no to Washington because they wanted to make him king and he said there will be no king in america
Is the new profile pic you currently? If so, youāre looking strong and healthy.
I know the comment has been deleted though this is an important topic. The problem with violence associated with insults and the scenario outlined above (i.e what we call a āking punchā in Aus) is the aftermath can be lethal
Being online and anonymous creates a facade, a false sense of security that empowers bad people to behave like even worse⦠people⦠If I were to go up and start a fight with everyone who has made a passing remark at me or everyone who has flipped me off in traffic Iād be dead twenty times over.
Much of what twitter/instagram trolls, cyberbullies and the likes say online would never pass during day to day interaction. Those guys/gals who post deviant, diabolical, sociopathic, heartless comments on random pages encouraging posters to commit suicide and the likes. How do you reckon commentary like this would pan out during face to face interaction?
Hence there is a difference between online interaction/in person interaction; the prospect of intimacy and conflict with consequence has been taken out of the equation and therefore people can shine their true colours.
To āking hitsā/unexpected attacks, there have been plenty of cases within Aus wherein these attacks result in the victim falling, hitting their head on concrete and passing away. In the circumstance this occurs, almost regardless of the scenario if you wereāt seriously, seriously provoked to the point you believed self defence was necessary youāre looking at a long jail sentence.
Itās irritating as to how our societal stances on bullying are somewhat diametrically opposed. I knew an old acquaintance who was picked on mercilessly for years. He was a big guy similar to the description you gave. Despite our society pushing a strong anti bullying agenda the school was very timid on this issue until one day this individual snapped and threw a punch. He was made out to be the perpetrator as he was the first party to resort to violence. So you canāt resort to physical confrontation or intimidation, but seeking intervention through the means of higher authority doesnāt seem to work and telling your tormentors to āstop⦠pleaseā doesnāt worth either.
In my mind the individual at hand did nothing wrong⦠I donāt condone violence but with kind of situation standing up for yourself like this can lead to your tormentors backing off, as I believe was the aftermath of this case. No one in their right mind wants to get beaten up, or at the very least once theyāve experienced it they wonāt want the experience replicated.
Other problems with fighting, you never know the level of experience your opponent has. What if they have a knife and little respect or value for human life? Getting into random fights equates to risking liberty and health. Thereās a reason it doesnāt really happen all that much past high school/college. People generally become more civilised, empathetic and respectful with age, adults who troll on the internet make up a stark minority.
Different ways. Confiscating guns wasnāt part of them.
Whiskey Rebellion.
Like I said, keep telling yourself that
Man, I once had a drink with a prostitute in Guangzhou after hypothetically doing something similar (itās hard to find real coke there) and the stuff she was telling meā¦
One dude told her to take a shit and feed it to him. Another told her to slap him repeatedly while he cried, āIām sorry, Mummy!ā.
This was in 2004 or so. Before I got married.
You have some very interesting/amusing stories. I get the feeling youāve led a very interesting life.
I think we all have. Iāve just led one thatās quite different from yourās so you find it interesting. My friends who still go on monthly benders in China would find them boring.
Not sure how this has anything to do with freedom. I believe prostitution is illegal in America, though theoretically in Oregon with drug decriminalisation you could quasi legally do this with an ESCORT (not a hooker). Not sure what the allure of this is though aside from being mischievous for the sake of being mischievous.
Itās not the drug use I find interesting as Iāve hypothetically skirted around that block, very little productivity/good generally comes out of it. But the travelling, the people you meet etc is fascinating
