Why Do Americans Care So Much About Freedom

It means the american freedoms are being swept away and one day they will be gone

And this is where it should stay. Screw all of your* ā€œoffending meā€ BS. Incitement = bad and illegal. And I would say also causing false panic in which people are hurt/killed (which might fall somehow under incitement? Dunno, not a legal scholar). But either you believe that assholes have a right to hold their stupid opinions or you don’t believe in free speech as far as government involvement is concerned.

*Collective sense, not you.

That’s fine with me, but the fact of the matter is that this muddying is already done. This conflation you speak of already exists, and once laws allow that to be enforced the slide downward is unstoppable. Slow or fast, it eventually happens.

No…i am just someone who studied those times and I see the similarities between then and now and it bothers me that everything my father fought for in WWII is being looked at like it will never happen here

The USA is being destroyed from within and Kruschev said this was gonna happen

???

I mean the first two are despicable but ok. This one though seems like a call to action.

I think living in the states we don’t get as full news coverage as we could on items like this. I don’t believe that your government does a particularly good job with the line between hate speech and free speech, but I will readily admit that we don’t have the same awareness of stories across the pond that you do locally. It seems pretty fair to think that there are a significant number of news items that we never hear about, much as I am sure there are a significant number of news stories in the USA that are uncovered over there.

I think it requires immediacy or imminence.

Was it something someone said?

agreed. Wanting to kill someone (and being serious about it) is generally despicable regardless of who says it
Although, I’d make an exception for wanting to kill child molestors and serial killers- my personal opinion

There seems to be a sort of a hypocritical double standard

No, he didn’t. Hitler actually made it easier for Germans to own guns in some cases.

If that were true Barack Obama’s ā€œpastorā€ would be in prison along with Farakan.

Not German Jews though.

Not any Jews.

Denying history only means that it will be repeated

Wait, are we becoming facists or communists? We fought facist, but khrushchev was speaking about communists. Or are we becoming both?

Or was your daddy a nazi who fought the commies?

That’s a BINGO! Am I saying it right?

Seriously, you hit it out of the park again. This is what people don’t get.

Kruschev said there was no reason to attack the Americans, they will destroy themselves and be infiltrated from within

Well they are much more idealogically similar to eachother than they are to U.S democratic republicanism.

Joke:

You know how many civil servants are needed to change a lightbulb here?

None.

They contract you to do it and it takes 3 months of going back and forth between you and their superiors to complete it because they made someone who doesn’t know jack shit about lightbulbs and only cares about covering his ass oversee the project.

Then they whine about why it cost them so much to change a fucking lightbulb and try to bargain for a lower price or accuse you of overcharging them.

These clowns whose salaries are paid by my neighbors and I basically missed what would be a layup for any decently-run private sector business with a similar employee headcount. At best, if I’m being generous with my basketball analogy, you can rate the difficulty as a technical free throw where you get the whole paint to yourself and everyone has to stand behind you while you shoot.

No big deal. It was a hateful, likely racist project of the outgoing Republican administration that would have eliminated several jobs that could one day be held by people of color. You’re not for eliminating job opportunities from people of color, are you? Good. Now, just wipe all mention of it from the .gov and move on.

Ironically, the only country whose government I’ve worked with that lets me do shit properly without much interference is CHINA. I get shit done within or below their budget, hypothetically get told to overcharge them for 3rd party stuff when I’m on retainer by the guys in charge and we split the returns because they don’t want the budget cut next year, and sometimes have bill them later because I complete the projects ahead of schedule.

I’ll tell you why. The guys they send to oversee these projects are either experienced or educated on the kind of work being done unlike in some other countries. Because of this, they have the balls to oversee the projects themselves without constantly reporting to their superiors to cover their asses since they know when things are going well and when things aren’t.

I’m sure you’re right about those kinds of situations. I have less than a year of bad experiences in the government sector.

I think the other why is that, despite all of the garbage built into a system like CCP governance of China, the people calling the shots for the CCP understand the game that’s being played much better than anyone who is a nominally powerful elected politician in the USA.

It’s been called ā€œplaying the long gameā€ and that seems entirely accurate if I’m to consider the situation over the course of my lifetime.
