Id have been the a guy who ran up behind that guy and stabbed him in the throat with a pen.
Me too.

Actually, I think I would have used the drawstring from my shorts to garrotte the guy. Much quicker way to induce unconsciousness I suspect.

BBB
Maybe but you would get way more respect with a pen!
Garrotte is a higher skilled maneuver, probably earn you more respect in my book as its a more elegant take down, but not as reliable in my opinion.

Id worry hed buck around when grabbed with the drawsting, those aren’t super strong, id worry it might break.

stab with pen, in and out once then go for full choke.
Even if hes a monster at wrestling and you fail, struggling with you with an open neck wound means hes down and out regardless
Have you ever done either?
I do jujitsu with my kids once in awhile and id have to say BBB is the safer smarter man! cutting off blood to the brain is very fast and efficient. This is not with a string but the same procedure, done in seconds.
I havent used a pen but I have used a sharpened toothbrush, into the juggler! A very nasty sort of crunchy feeling, and then a weezing noise that is foreign to the human ear! The guy sort of jumped away, looked at me, and then ran about 50 yards to a correctional officer! I was scared all the way up till it was done, maybe im just not a killer at heart but for me choking them out is the softer easier and smarter way. If you want people to fear you stab someone in the neck! My experience!

I started about 1 week ago.

I’ll let you know why I started in 10.

I have had formal training with blades, and am most comfortable with them, hence their movements would be my personal preference.

Im fairly experienced with chokes and some formal training, but it would not be my first choice. I would prefer to stab first then go for the choke.
I would not trust my training in chokes over my experience and training with knives.

To me armed is always preferable to unarmed. Options are options. A choke is very reliable but is quite difficult to lock in as it requires you to literally be inches from them.

The pen is still usable at arms length away.

Notice I am advocating having the option for both, or perhaps doing both, I am not advocating using a pant drawsting as a garotte, although likely it would work wonderfully, I would worry it might break. And would personally be much more comfortable with a stab or a conventional choke. Personal preference, Im not qualified to judge its effectiveness either way.

With the stab, even if I cant grab him after and choke him out and he wheels around and shoots me, hes still going to bleed out rapidly and perhaps still have to wrestle me as well, severely reducing capacity as a combatant, even if he does not die or black out. Hes not likely to kill many people after a hit to the neck and/or a struggle with me.

There is a high probability of missing with the pen, but missing a rear choke is quite easy as well.

Best method would likely to be to use both shoe laces at the same time for insurance against breakage.
But as I said I am very comfortable with knives and the movements associated with knives, so my comfort zone would simply favor the pen.

I would do what I could do best and try to inflict as much damage as possible as quickly as possible.

Hit fast, hit hard, do what you know.

I can do flags, I just have to have something rooted in the ground well that I can actually grip, due that Im now pushing 240.

The only other things I learned was back flip and front flip.

Explain some of the basics of performing these acrobatic movements as a large person Id be interested in training them.
Here is Antoine Vaillant doing some acrobatic moves at something like 6’ 270. Although lifting takes a precedence over acrobatics for me, I always want to be able to do the basics like Antoine.

very impressive at that size!

Should I just get online and start researching tricking ? Watch videos and attempt to emulate them into a pool ? Then on a mat with a spotter ? Then alone ?

Or is there something specific that would help me ?

What did it for me was hitting the wall. I was always a small framed guy but that didn’t stop me. The men in my family don’t live that long but that won’t stop me. My life was almost ended but that only made me stronger. I think it is only the fact that we are mere mortals yet we strive to be iconic. For each his own but I know and feel that inside all of us there is the desire to meet our weakness head on and defeat it.

I was 112 pounds my first year of high school and I knew that I would never be a linebacker no matter how much I loved football, but I found that there were sports that relied more on will power than size. I got into wrestling and soon found that my tenacity was unmatched. I did the one thing I knew and that was beat the living shit out of everyone that dared call themselves my equal.

Things went well and I thought I was going to make my way to a great school with a broad future but life has a way of making us look really weak. My dad got sick and suddenly the decision was no longer Midwest or southeast but are my siblings going to eat. Well now my brother and sister are old enough to fend for themselves and the idea of competitive Olympic wrestling long gone I want to be strong vascular and big as I always thought possible.
