This is simply an observation. I’ve noticed that the majority of white males I’ve known in real life and on television have a fear of losing their hair. Most black guys I know welcome the hair loss as an opportunity to wear the bald look. On the other hand most white men comb the few strands they have over and wear a ring around their head to savor the last hair they have. I’d venture to bet Rogaine’s sales market is primarily white males. Why is that, bald is okay…welcome your age.
I would never rock the George Costanza. If I went bald, you can bet i’d shave that shit right off. I’d still rock the beard too.
Hair?
Pff, I don’t care.
I think the darker you are , the better you look bald. That being said, I’m a 32 y/o white dude and have been rocking the bald look since I was 23. I think more women prefer guys with hair but it hasn’t really been a problem for me. I used to hate figuring how to style or grow my hair so I welcomed baldness. Quicker shower’s too.
On a side note, I still use a tiny bit of shampoo. This baffles people. I guess old habits die hard ![]()
I am a 47-year-old follicularly-challenged white male, and I shave my head. I prefer the bald look to the “balding” look.
Two folliculary-challenged white friends about the same age sport the pattern. One keeps his pattern crew-cut length and the other one grows it out to regular haircut length or even thicker; both refuse to shave it off.
Sometimes I get lazy and let my hair grow out a little before shaving it again. One time when I let it go for a while between shaves, one of my pattern-wearing friends said it was getting close to being a “full head of hair”. Not sure whether that was poor phrasing or denial of reality.
Many white guys look terrible bald, that probably has a lot to do with it.
No, the real question is:
Why ISN’T everyone afraid of the Skullet?

Women.

This is why white men don’t want to be bald.

When white men go bald and aren’t huge it looks like they just had chemo.
But have you seen Stone Cold? He looks 100 times badder than when he had hair;

I can’t tell if it’s the pencil neck or the flavor saver that make his baldness particularly bad. Flavor savers scream douchebaggery, IMO.

True. It partly has to do with head shape, black guys tend to have more symmetrical heads than many white guys, depending on ethnic background.
My husband shaved his head when the top started thinning. He wears a beard too. He is Germanic and rather fierce looking naturally, and last night we had a funny conversation with our neighbors about how terrified the girls were of him before we were friends.

You just have to be a badass to be bald.
I think that the general rule is if you have a round shaped head you aren’t going to look as good bald as people with heads that are longer from the side than from the front. Most black men and many but not all white men have long shaped heads.

I actually think he looks better bald.
I have no fear of baldness. I just don’t want to be bald, though I am heading there gradually.

Yeah, he looks quite badder with his shaved head and pecs and the shiny necklace ![]()
Looks like he was tired of his eyebrows too.
