I just don’t get it, what is so cool about visible abs muscles? Is it really worth to be so lean to have those? There are only few warriors who earn their abs at 200+ pounds, but that is why they are professional, or just pretty damn good at what they do.
Most people don’t even look like they are training, unless they take their t-shirt off. Is it really worth it? Is it really better to have visible abs just because they are cool for that price, to be the only one who knows that you work out? To me a good looking dude is someone you can spot from a mile away and be 100% sure that he is lifting big ass weights, no matter if he has abs or not. Heck, even some skinny douche has abs without even know what the gym is for.
What is so cool about 18’ arms?.. What is so cool about a tear drop?.. What is so cool about diamond shape calves?
If you are so concerned about your physic why not try to achieve the totally package? The only reason guys flame others with visible abs is because they don’t have visible abs… you have the same attitude of a skinny guy who says he doesn’t want to get to big, simply because he cannot get his diet right.
There are so many guys trying to flame others for wanting “hawt abs”… I feel like i’m in some obese support group.

What?
Only people getting flamed are the ones who want to keep perfect ripped abs while bulking or simultaneously bulk while cutting at the same time (which is next to impossible). Like Shelby Sternes mentioned “Remember, gaining mass and losing fat are two very different horses; and you can’t ride two horses with one ass.”
I think his general guideline is good as long as you can see the general outline of your abs. You should be fine bulking.
It’s like take two twins. Have one bulk up big time over 5 years. Get a bit smooth. While his brother takes the slow route trying to keep his etched abs. Put money on it the first guy will be at least 15-20 lbs heavier then the other guy at the end…
I mean is this not the goal of most of us! While we’re young put on as much mass as possible? Before we hit 35+ and wonder wtf happened?

Who Cares, who cares what you think? Slam Pieces like Abs, ipso facto importance is placed on abs. Slam Pieces get all wet from those Twilight dudes who are 170 pounds. People, for some reason care, what women think. Women are impressed by shiny objects like rings and gold (like cats). What do expect from a sex with one third size of a normal brain?
On a serious note i think the whole abs thing is similar to what we look at in girls. Its an evolutionary thing to look for a mate that is attractive and fit. This correlates to producing healthy offspring. The media today plays up abs so that is whats “in fashion”. Back in the day a dude with no abs would be seen as being wealthy and had much access to food. That dude would have got all the slam pieces he wanted.

Unfortunately I’ve recently discovered the term “slam pieces” because some bastard showed me broslikethissite or some such stupid thing. Are you a bro? If so, we don’t like your kind around theses parts.
Also, I really don’t care. I just think it sounds exceedingly stupid.
what do you guys do, scan the forums for hours on end trying to figure out what really bothers people, and then post a thread agreeing with the same mentality?

Why is 35 the magic number, vato?
Just wondering.[/quote]
lol! fixed.
I just threw that number out there. I’m not trying to bash any age group or something lol. (as I know some pretty fuckin’ big 35+ guys @ my gym) Just talking about us young guys who have a lot of time to build something impressive for ourselves instead of spinning our wheels for years and years like some clueless people in some gyms.

Ah, Mexican? I just know the Spanish ‘bato’.
Yeah, I figured that’s what you were doing… As long as you take care of your joints and yourself in general, you can keep making progress well into your 40’s. It’s harder, but it’s possible.
