Who's Getting a PS3?

Exactly. I think it’s just a matter of how far ahead Xbox can get in that time frame. So far it isn’t looking good. The new rumor on IGN is that Metal Gear 4 won’t be exclusive. That’s gonna hurt.

Obviously I don’t know the truth of it, but supposedly the rumor has been debunked. Who knows? There’s even a report of a so-called “glut” in the PS3 market.

I think people are getting way ahead of the ball here… or perhaps it’s even a Microsoft strategy to spread FUD as long as possible.

I’ve owned a PS and PS2 and been very happy with both. I won’t be buying a PS3, simply because right now it’s out of my price range. I think the high price tag will hurt Sony’s bottom line in the US for the first year or two before they drop the price. Obviously, serious gamers who have the cash will pick one up, but for those of us who don’t have a lot of extra dough, it’s probably not going to happen.

I was real excited about the Wii, but after doing more reading and research, I feel it’s too gimmicky and that the “newness” of the Wiimote will wear off after a couple of weeks. I wouldn’t have minded it if you could choose to either play a game with the Wiimote or use a Gamecube or the new classic controller, but if the Wiimote is your only option to play games, then that’s not going to work for me, long-term.

I’m looking into an XBox 360. I’d probably go with the cheaper core system since I don’t care about online gaming and the other bells and whistles. Stores seem eager to be giving these things away now since they’ve been out for a year, as I’ve seen several good ads where you get $100 gift card and other items for buying a system.

Just a word of advice. You should buy the $399 bundle from Bestbuy.

It comes with a hardrive. The core system doesn’tcome with a hardrive
which you will need in order to save progress in games.

If you buy the core system you will need to buy an additionalmemory card for approimately $40.

It’s a better deal to buy the Xbox Bundles with Need for Speed; Most Wanted for $399 plus tax and then you receive a $20 gift card which you canuse towards a game or another control.

One last thing. Gears of War is a MUST HAVE.

Enjoy!!

Good point, FFB. And, if I buy a core system, I’d have to shell out another $50 for a wireless controller, so the total cost would end up the same as the $399 system anyway.

I’m waiting till after X-Mas to buy one, though, as I’m anticipating receiving a couple of Best Buy gift cards and plan on using those towards my purchase.

Definitely will be getting Gears of War, along with NBA 2K7 and Madden 07.
