There’s a mind-boggling arrogance to your thinking that YOU can decide what offends the sensibilities of New Yorkers, and Americans in general.

And before you deny it, your exact words about the building of this mosque were Why is it insensitive?

It’s the equivalent of telling a rape victim she’s “silly” for not wanting to be left alone with strange men.

So, Why is it insensitive?

Because the traumatized victims say it is. That’s why.
So if that rape victim says that no men should be allowed to build their house in her street, is that acceptable?
Dumb.

Of course not.

But right next door? Yeah (common sense / “sensitivity” - wise; not legally), especially if that man is a goddamned relative of the rapist.

In any case who are YOU to decide what she should be “sensitive” to?

Again, Why is it insensitive?
So a rape victim should be allowed legally to limit any man (whether rapist or not) from buying a house next door to her?

Are you really that dumb?
Cockney Blue wrote:

Surely not. But I don’t think he was stating any such thing. He was saying the rape victim is being “reasonable” in not wanting to live next to a man.

And if the man knew of the poor woman and her troubles, and had plenty of other locations that were just as good, then he is being a dick and being insensitive by moving in next door.
Cockney Blue wrote:

He clearly wrote “Yeah (common sense / “sensitivity” - wise; not legally)”.

To dumb it down for you - He said it should not be legally enforced but that a decent person would take it into account.

No they wouldn’t. To move a rapist in next door would be insensitive, to move a man in next door not.
Cockney Blue wrote:

I don’t think you understand what being insensitive is. When you knowingly act in a manner that upsets somebody and you don’t care that you have upset them you are being insensitive.

Even if the person getting upset is being irrational. It doesn’t matter. You are still being insensitive.

I just want to know why Muslims get off with a huge load of shit like killing entire groups of peoples, raping and beating women, oprresing women and refusing them equal rights… etc schools and workplaces, and killing so-called “infidels” in the name of their faith… but when a Christians say that for instance being gay is wrong or un-natural (Which ii am citing as an example - not to player hate on gays) they are branded as being hateful, unchristian, and unamerican. That makes no sense to me.

Christians made up the core of the group that settled America. We made this country and this world what it is. Why do we have to deal with these camel jockeys from some fucking armpit desert who get their kicks off beating women and killing innocent and unarmed civilians. And when they do fight they choose to set IED’s and only fight non-uniformed.

And if you say all Muslims arent bad, i will say this to you.

And all the Nazis and members of the SS werent bad either

Because in theory, Americans have more freedom than people in the middle east. Something you guys should be kinda proud of.

I know I shouldn’t do this but…

I lol’ed.

As an Arab and a muslim, I would never say all Americans are red necks, or all christians are unibombers. But what I believe is there is a bad bunch of apples amongst my people who have gone bad due to oppression poverty and ignorance. I also say it’s the worlds responsibility to cure these bad apples before thinking about chucking them away. So if you please chill and relax and instead of insulting a religion with 1 billion followers and only a few thousand extremists, think about how you can illustrate to the world that you should not be the target of those extremists.

I leave you with a verse from the Quran " If you strive for peace, all shall follow" I guess Bush Sr should have read this 22 years ago. It could’ve saved us all lots of drama and pain

Why would you come to a country that’s predominantly Christian and, with the influx of Hispanics, becoming more Catholic?

Do Muslims LIKE being a scapegoatted minority? Dude, for your own good, go back to Egypt. I say that without rancor. Circumstances do not bode well for Muslims in this country.

I like your sentiment for the most part. Really.

And that’s a nice quote.

But perhaps you’d like to address this one?

9:29 Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
Hi CHushin, First of all I am not a very devout Muslim, but I can explain the context of that verse. In islamic finance muslims have to contribute 2.5% of they’re annual income + savings every year to the welfare of the society(including muslims and non muslims). So back in the day, muslims felt that non muslims should contribute too. But they couldn’t call it by its islamin term Zakah, so they decided to call it Jezya which in Arabic is translated to a fee or a tax. So putting it now in context, non muslims paid the Jezya . Concerning the first part in Arabic Allah is the word for God, my Catholic freinds call Jesus, Allah. So the verse is sirected at non believers. In islam (believe it or not) you have to believe in Christianity and Judaism in order to be a good muslim (a verse in the 2nd chapter that I will add later).

Chriistians, Muslims and Jews all believe in God (Allah, God or Juda) THEY ARE ALL DIFFERENT NAMES TO THE SAME ENTITY IN ISLAM. Please read the Quran with an open mind and now that it DOES NOT represent the extremist terrorist shit heads as they are in direct violation of it when Allah said “Though are not to Kill the human soul God created” and afterwards it says that God will illustrate his fury on those who kill a human soul.

Headhunter I do live in Egypt.
Second I lived in the beautiful USA for 4 years during college, I came there to learn from your advanced scholars and learn the aspects of a modern society, then I left your country to come back and give my share in developing Egypt. And if it wasn’t for your kind people who never opressed me or hated me even in a post 9/11 world I wouldn’t have become who I am today, and I will always be grateful to the USA. Why I am replying here is we have had a few ugly specimens show their ugly mugs, and you may have never met me, but if you would I would only meet you with open arms and would welcome you anytime to visit my country to know who the real Egyptians are and what Moderate Islam looks like.

ANd no we dont like being scapegoated, we like not being stereotyped.

LOL you guys are retards

Even if I showed you my dual citizenship with Israel?

The Talmud and the Quran say a lot of the same things – kill others. Trouble is that too many Muslims take such pronouncements as a decree from God.

Headhunter, you are still most welcome to visit my hometown of Alexandria and I will take you around to meet the moderate muslims, guys who dont differ at all from you at all, in every sence of the word. I’ll show you how laid back the Egyptian people are, and how all what we care about is live in peace with everybody, and make a decent hard earned living. Finally in the Quran God Says " I’ve created you into multiple Nations and Tribes to meet and learn from each other" and a fact for you if I go tomorrow and burn a Talmud publically, I would be sent to Jail for denouncing Islam and for insulting Allah. Our idea of freedom is, you can say whatever you want and do whatever you want but your limit is offending others… thats why all the Jewish population in Egypt has been unharmed throughout the years, because in times of war we knew how to differentiate between Judaism and Zionism, and after peace signed in Camp David, we just we live in peace and prosperity with all those around us.
In Egypt we call Jews our cousins because we are both Semites, so my cousin, if you ever swing by Egypt you know who to call onto (I will take you to one of the toughest Gyms in the world and have a young 14 year old whoop you the best protein shake you have ever had.)

Cheers
Ossama

Yes Chushin, I’m neither a devout muslim or a cholar, I am just doing my best to help you guys see that not only you are affected by this we are as well and the fight shouldn’t be fought just by you guys but also by us. But again Bush (doubya) chose the wrong battlefield, this should have been fought by attacking ignorance not physically attack. As this caused the rest of the world to think that all Americans are a bunch of hill billies. I appreciate that you discuss things freely, but guys from a moderate(open minded) muslim the problem aint with islam the problem is with poverty, ignorance and unemployment that leads to fuckers having too much time , and misinterpreting anything they can get their eyes on and thats what happened in islam.
