And I’m tired, I get some energy for a couple of hours, enough to get through 3 hours of work and then it all just goes.
Uugh. I hear you and know exactly where you are coming from. Hang in there.
Thanks for the encouragement. I’ve just been thinking that being in constant pain, even low-level bearable pain, just tires you out. I try not to think about it, get on with things, but it’s just there in the background.
Ok nearly forgot I did some stuff yesterday. Not the 50 reps (divided into sets of course) but close enough.
Picked up the bar for the first time in months.
Sumo - 65lbs
It was light but kept everything tight, and oof it’s been awhile so shoulder blades were the most sore.
Lat Pull downs - 40lba
assit pull up machine was broken?
KB (bell behind) presses - er think it was a light 6kg???
Then I hobbled my way to Chiro to get some ART. Things were releasing better though, it was like a drug.
Nice! It sounds like progress was made. One step at a time!
Little baby step forward:
Empty bar Lunges - 40 reps with multiple sets
Lat Pulldown - 50
Close incline grip DB press - 10 ea
Lots of stretching & sauna. Oh and I tried out the power plate, which is meh ok I guess.
Went to Feldenkrais. I think someone needs to reinvent the moves for lifting. Like a sequence for Squatting, DLing, PullUping, and for those that seem to like it Benching
.
During this session she had us slide our arms down, and because you’re going really slow you can feel where the sticking points are, it actually hurt just to move 1/2 an inch. After a few more adjustments on how we should move our arm down, it felt really good. Anyway hard to describe.
Oof ok stupid day. No one got hurt, I didn’t lose a lot of money, etc BUT (nevermind I started listing things out here but just too much typing)
Went to self-defense, bought me a pair of boxing gloves. Good news, my fingers were too long for the pink ones (hate pink), so I got blue ones (photo to be revealed soon). And I’m still out of shape even though I’ve been working on my conditioning. Some puches/kicks were good, and others would’ve just tickled my attacker.
No shit on hating pink. It’s on everything my size!
Good to see you logging again, MT ![]()
Which reminds me…
Ok so during class, I kept leaning forward when punching and she also said she could see my left hook coming from a mile away. Once and ahwile I would lock-out my knees too.
No worries. Just like getting your form down on lifts it takes some practice to get right. You’re putting in the work and will get there.
FFFFF!!!
Ok so the glute has been feeling pretty good the last few days, even after the self-defense session. Then I went to do a little lunge after my warm up, and something felt off and is still pinching me.
I decided to just go through a few sumos anyway:
5x5 just 95lbs
Feeling discouraged did some KB presses and a couple of sets of pull-downs. some stretching.
Then still feeling discouraged as I hobbled home, I did something I don’t normally do and got myself a manicure.
I’m convinced that sumo’s are the devil for those of us who are aging gracefully. Give conventional pulls a try.
Never considered the manicure as mood enhancer. ![]()
Sometimes a girl just needs to treat herself.
I got a very dark blood, practically black, colour to match my mood. I think I’m ordering take out tonight too.
I actually can’t do convos because of my back & ribs, if it’s not one thing it’s another. And I bothered my glute even before I even touched the stupid bar!!!
I do have to remind myself that I am actually a girl. Should’ve an f-ing mimosa with it too.
Ab-so- f-ing- lutely! Served in the skull of your enemy!
Sorry to read you’re feeling discouraged. What did you get for takeout to ease the pain? Chinese? Pizza?
I’m in to hear what the takeout order is as well!
CL’s post actually made me laugh out loud.
