Who You Jivin With That Cosmik Debris

One pint arm curls is lifting…

Hey Up, ok I went a search myself, thanks for that. One person made a really good point to get the hip flexors in order first.

Probably makes more sense for me to do that especially since most of the pain now is from them. I can’t seem to get my piriformis to relax no matter what I do. PT says they are getting better, not as tight as they were, guess it’ll just take time. I miss the Feldenkrais classes too.

Usual warm up, see last page.

DB Dl’s (think I used more low back than I should’ve)
3 x 10 - 20kg ea

Bent over KB rows (squeezy bum)
3 x 10 - 8kg ea

KB Bear Complex (although I think I’m kinda making up my own order of things)
3 x 5 (I think) - 8kg ea

Lots of stretching & poking my psoas, jacuzzi.

Psoas and piriformis issues, huh? Two words for you: Pigeon Pose. It can be excruciating but there are variations that are less painful, but the piriformis stretch is insane. I found the following an interesting read on psoas releasing: Psoas-Releasing Yoga Poses & Stretches - Yoga Journal

Thank crushed, yeah I know all about the pigeon among other various yoga poses/sequences. Been doing yoga on & off for I don’t know how long, although at the moment if you saw me do a sun salutation you might think different, it aint pretty

One class I took by one of my many friends that are yoga teachers, a 2 hour hip opening restorative (restorative does not mean easy let me tell you). She had us in specific poses for 15 mins ea, with slow variations/progressions using props. That was a great class actually. I think thing is I have been only doing short sequences, 15 mins here & there, instead of maybe a proper session once or twice a week to really loosen things up. None of my friends teach around where I live or work, and the ones I tried I didn’t trust them.

Anyhoo, I bunz & hips are a bit DOMS (which I like) and definitely used more of my lower back than I wanted to but nothing hurts which is good. We’ll see how I feel after sitting at that evil desk tomorrow.

Yeah, a full 1-1.5h of Vinyasa gives me mega DOMs, but it clears out any ROM sticking issues I may have from day-to-day life and other exercise. My instructor went on maternity leave and have seen nor heard hide nor hair. Need to get back to sun salutations daily if not weekly.

Is it evil desk or evil chair that is the culprit?

I started sitting on a ball a couple of months ago. Meh it helps slightly, but using the mouse seems to slightly compress my left side. I got rid of the mouse pad last year thinking that would help but I really have to watch even the slightest lean it seems since I’ve been probably doing it for the last 8 years like that.

Did a 30 min squence last night, felt loosened up but again early this morning woke up with the hips pulling on my back. I’m not too bad so should be able to get in 3 sets of the exercises tonight.

Halloween horror flicks count down began over the weekend too.
So far…
Wishmaster
Evil Dead trilogy
Shocker
Candyman (fell asleep on that one, need to watch again)
I might go get a Clive Barker book as well as some Edgar Allan Poe (much of madness…more of sin)

I haven’t seen Wishmaster. Need to see if it is on netflix. I like Candyman, but it wasn’t scary so much as fascinating… Evil Dead rules!

Have you tried swapping sides with your mouse? I switch mine between left and right regularly. It takes a little getting used to but it helps a lot.

Wishmaster is pretty corny, but in a good way. And of course like most of Wes Cravens movies, the ending is even cornier.

I’ll try the mouse switch, might slow me down a bit though, but on the easier stuff I’ll try it.

Warmup
5 min cross trainer
no moneys, 6kg goblet squats, 15kg rear lunges, hurdle thingies, etc, Gym was too crowded couldn’t do the face pulls,

Workout
Superset (was done too quickly)
Front Squats
3 x 10 - 15kg
KB shoulder press (bell behind, got some nice bruises)
3 x 5 - 12kg (should be able to add on a couple more reps next time)

Good mornings
3 x 15 - 25kg (weight feels light for the bunz, but not for the back)

5 mins steep hill walk
10 mins job

Hip flexor stretching, jacuzzi.

Might skip pool tonight, throat scratchy & no energy.

Good workout!

Don’t skip the pool, just go to the sauna and bake it out after.

The big pool (on Wed nights where I meet diving club) has the stinky sauna/steam rooms, I don’t go in them anymore. The smaller pool I go to at lunch has the lovely ones. The gym has the so-so ones, although I did see one guy steam shave his face in that one, ew.

A steam shave is nice, but guys shouldn’t do it in mixed sauna’s, women shouldn’t have to see that sort of thing…

Oh wait, he was shaving his face?

The thing that really annoyed me was he just shook his razor on the floor. Anyhoo, not sure if I should go to the doctor or see PT. Had a really weird pain, not sure from ribs, or stomach or what, but nearly fainted. Ribs could’ve been poking stomach or maybe some sort of spasm. Maybe I should see both. Getting tired of this roller coast ride with the pain, up, down, up down, getting dizzy

You sure it isn’t inside the ribs? Heart pain can show up in weird ways.

Don’t say heart pain. I really couldn’t tell what was going, could be stomach too as I felt like I needed to throw up (but I didn’t). I’ve had the heart checked & tests done last year just in case the pain was heart, everything came back negative. I’ve had palpations checked out & all came back fine.

Went to the nice pool at lunch, felt better eventually in the water, did the steam/sauna. Yoga tonight, hoping to do a quick workout tomorrow. Seeing PT Saturday & Dr Monday

Glad to hear the heart was cleared. Don’t want to have to fret about you.

You need to talk to your work. I think it obvious you just need to work from a jacuzzi, and they are infringing on your health and welfare by not supplying you with one.

Now if only someone would invent a jacuzzi suit so you could be immersed in the hot, bubbly goodness everywhere you go.

Don’t forget MT needs a cabana boy too with the jacuzzi.

Hope you have a good workout tonight!

2B I thought she clarified no boys, just men.

I dont think Id be going in a community hot tub, if men are shaving. Are people in there with you?

I can see the wind chill outside being an issue if we dont figure something out. Im so sore I can hardly wait to get in mine tonight.
