Who the F**K is B.o.B.?

ProffX: Yeah, that song is definitely not soulless, and I think it’s the best one on the record right now. I meant on the whole the album is kind of soulless. The rhymes and his flow on most of the other songs are better but the lyrics dont hit as well. To be fair though, Its only been a few days and I haven`t given the album enough listens.

LOL, I actually think Em threw a couple of subliminal shots at Wayne on that song they did together. People suspected he did the same on Forever, too. Funny as hell since while Ems saying those lines, Lil Waynes egging him on with the ad libs.

He throws jabs at Wayne in the song with Pink and he has a subliminal diss to all the dudes on the forever track because he raps circles around them…

If you think the track about Proof is soulless then you haven’t heard it

Okay so Drake is a 50/50. On one end his shit is kinda stupid but on the other hes one of the freshest acts on the block. He, along with the Lady Gaga are moving music away from Rihanna and Beyonce, which is great.
What’s wrong with Rihanna and Beyonce?
Well theres nothing wrong with them per se, I’d bang them both.

Their music? Not so much…

Weren’t you the one that started this thread saying you didnt like todays pop?

Where abouts in this track is this “subliminal diss” at the forever dudes?

That’s exactly what I thought when I heard Forever and No love. Im like, whoa, I remember when Wayne was first tryin to reach out to Em and his words werent exactly all good.

But IDK, I think that’s what Rick Ross meant when he said “Em’s smart, I know what he’s tryna do” when asked about Forever.

I’m sure I’m the biggest Eminem fan on T-Nation, but the content just isn’t there on this album. Like I said, getting clean off drugs isn’t a good concept for a rap album. Some of those beats would be a better fit for Asher Roth than Eminem. If I want to hear music about being square, I’ll listen to Huey Lewis. Eminem is at his best when he raps about conflict and controversy - “The Warning” (Mariah Carey/Nick Cannon diss song) is as raw as anything he’s ever done so he hasn’t lost his rhyming ability. He just doesn’t have anything to say anymore.

Speaking of good music heres Masta Ace - one of eminems main influences. True legend, my favourite MC.

Nice track to bang to in the summer.

Gettinitdone is a damn WHACKJOB!!!

He has the first song where he ever addresses proofs death on Recovery but he has nothing to say? Everyone said his career was over, all his yes men stopped coming around and so “No Love” is a fuck you to those people. The track with rhianna is about BOTH being in abusive relationships, both have things to say about that. Talkin 2 myself where he again trashes relapse, admits to almost dissin all the big rappers, admits to being jealous of their attention etc, again another track where he shows just how self-aware and honest he is. Relapse was about being clean and off drugs, this cd he is going back to just spittin hard as fuck. I understand everyone is entitled to their opinion but if you listened to EVERY song on Recovery and think he has nothing to say then I can’t imagine what you find to be a good album. Lil wayne has never had ONE thing to say, that goes for drake, rick ross, pretty much every single rapper. As time goes on so does subject matter, for real mcs at least. He has done the type of tracks you are referring to so now he addresses proof, drug addiction, etc.

Good post.

I would actually be disappointed if he came out with some “Hi, My name Is” bullshit at this point in his life/career. Em is my age or older I think. He also has KIDS and apparently a desire to be more real (no blond bleached hair this time around).

I think that is why I keep asking about fans because I can’t imagine anyone who actually remembers songs like Lose Yourself and was even a small fan of his with those types of songs and can say this cd sucks from what I have heard of it.

Yeah I was happy with Not Afraid as his first single because a.) it’s a great song and b.) it shows his maturity and his willingness to maybe lose some of his “pop” fans and release a single on par with cleaning out my closet. Reovery is a complete album from start to finish, no skits, no songs that a record label usually demands, unique production, unmatched flow, and brilliant lyrics. Not too sure what else you could as for. I love how he ventured away from Dre a bit and had Swizz Beats, Boi-1da, and Jim Jonsin produce tracks. The feedback from the album has already been incredible, a host of other rappers have praised it and his fans seem to be ecstatic over it. I’m also excited about the work Em and Slaughterhouse are about to do, should be interesting. Him and Royce are a deadly combo (scary movies, bad meets evil)

Talent never left hip hop, it just went underground. As far as b.o.b. ehh hes mediocre. Still mediocrity stands head and shoulders above the mainstream hip hop community. As far as Eminem… he’s still “good” but has had a long fall from his once great… very very long fall. Once again still head and shoulders over most in the mainstream.

The Em album is straight fire, ~fukk da haterzz!!1~

Easily the best since MMLP.

Now hopefully he does a R&B album with T-Pain!! THEN WE CAN LIVE AGAIN!!

I don’t care what anyone says but when T-Pain wants to bring it, he’s fire.

Meek Millz, that philly shit!

Has anyone heard of Immortal Technique? This is some seriously raw stuff. I advise everyone to take a listen to this.

Along the same vein, JEDI MIND TRICKS ftw.

And another IMMORTAL TECHNIQUE track…

Two more songs from Immortal Technique, both are very controversial.

I’d totally have T-Pain sing my hooks dude. No question.
