Who Should Play the New Batman?

I saw Die Hard 5000 the other day, the newest one, and realized Jai Courtney could probably be a decent Deadpool. He was the bad guy in Jack Reacher and his acting’s so good, he made it look like Tom Cruise could beat him up. Apparently he was in Spartacus for a while and was really good friends IRL with Andy Whitfield. I can see him handling Batman.

Fassbender, I’m not sold on how he’d handle the physicality of it unless they really played up the Batman-as-ninja aspect rather than the strength/brute force. I guess he did well in 300, but still.

If they’re going with an older Batman like I’ve heard is a possibility… Ray Stevenson.

They need to ship up and fly right and find a role for Ben Foster some how. Joker or riddler. The dude can play a nut for sure and the boy has depth. But I know him personally so Im biased ;)
Ooh, tell him I thought he played his character really brilliantly in The Messenger
While you’re at it, tell him happy upcoming birthday. We’re on the same day, a year apart.

Scott Adkins… He is a real martial artist, has the look, and can act.
Seriously? I don’t know if I’ve ever heard the guy speak.

That was one of the funniest fucking things I have ever seen.
Agreed

I vote Brolin.

Although its guna be tricky seeing as Superman is very much a Day character and Batman a night cahracter. Be interesting to see how they play that out.

Why not make the series hilarious and cast Glen Howerton. He’s dark in a rapey sort of way (at least as Dennis).

They’re going to fuck this up big time. Maybe not on a singular movie basis, but they really had a chance to develop a Universe. Not just continually try to beat marvels movies one at a time.

Fuckin DC.

Shoudlda made one more supes movie on his own. shoulda made another bman movie with a new actor. shoulda made a flash movie, shoulda made a ww movie, shoulda made a gl sequal. Then make a supes vs bats movie, than make a trinity movie, then a justice league movie. then sequels to all the individual characters. Shit could went on for a decade…buuuuuuut noooooooooooooooo I NEED MY BILLION DOLLARS AND I NEED IT NOW.

I’ve said it before and Ill say it again. Nolan is a selfish asshole and fucked DC royally!

Daniel Day-Lewis. Because I want to see him do that method acting shit with Batman for six months first.

They’ve been doing a pretty phenomenal job with the animated movies. I suggest checking those out.

It just seems to me that World’s Finest is the next logical step rather than milking the individual movies. The problem though is that the Dark Knight series really rushed things (i think that’s your beef with Nolan? If so I 100% agree). If you don’t watch the animated movies then the timeline is essentially:

Batman becomes Batman -----Batman fights Joker-----Batman Fight Bane-----Superman Becomes Superman (and fight General Zod…AGAIN)----Batman defeats Superman.

There is so much that can happen (and has happened via animation) between Bane and Superman getting beat. In my opinion they should really have pumped the breaks on the Dark Knight series for a couple of years and let Super-man do his thing. Having Batman become enemies with Superman pretty much nullifies any possibility of seeing a justice league on the silver screen.

I’d really like to see a documentary covering Day-Lewis’ method acting when he takes a really crazy role on, one that’s way further out than even things like Bill The Butcher or John Proctor. I’d like to see him pretend to be a serial killing politician or something, or a homeless vampire looking to regain his lost fortunes. Like hiding in a shed for fifteen hours a day and screaming at people who try to catch a glimpse at him.

…Or I could just check up on how Gary Busey’s doing.

Who the fuck is Robin Thicke?

Ha, I can just see him wandering Seattle with Phoenix Jones.

Reports/rumors are going around today saying Zack Snyder talked with Jeffrey Dean Morgan about possibly doing the role. Maybe they are going towards an older Batman? I can’t really see him cleaning up to be a good Bruce Wayne, but he could probably swing Batman.

He will have to get in a little better shape, even to play an older Batman. Which he is capable of, but his Magic City shape aint going to cut it for Batman.

He has also played a comic character though so people who have issues with that probably will. I don’t really as long as it isn’t one of the comics that seems to cross paths with the others frequently. The Watchmen don’t really fall in that category for me.

Batman needs to be pretty old in this movie. It’s not a reboot but a continuation. Don’t really wanna get into spoilers on specifics.

Like how old? In the Dark Knight Rises Bruce Wayne was 8 years older than he was in the Dark Knight.

However that would eliminate Ben Foster (Archangel) from contention for bad guy roles. I also feel like Danny Huston’s crazy serial killerness was wasted on Stryker (although they have never been consistent with who played him).
Ben Foster did an amazing job with the Charlie Prince role.

Agreed, my favorite role of his was probably as the brother in Alpha Dog though.

Pretty much this. In the comics he looks like a jacked old man. Weathered and worn face, grey hair etc.

I don’t care.

All I know is the first time I saw Amanda Righetti I said to myself “There’s a super hero waiting for a role” so I want her as Wonder Woman. It’s a shame she’s wasted on a 2nd tier character on a Sunday night show.

Wow, that came out big.
And not such a bad thing.
