hey man…just found your log. very inspirational, as others have said. i do have a question for you…have you always used knee sleeves, or did you adopt them later when your squat got bigger? do you find that it’s safer to squat with them than without them?
first off thanks for dropping in it’s always refreshing to hear that others are getting something out of the work I’m putting in. as for the knee sleeves I got them last year and they have been one of my most worth while purchases. I never used them before a year ago because I didn’t really know about them but now I pretty much use them every session. My reasoning is that since I got them my knee health has improved tremendously. I have always implemented high volume when it comes to squats and my knees developed some semi chronic pain as a result of overuse. With the sleeves I have eliminated knee pain from my day to day life and I highly recommend them to anyone who develops pain due to over use of their knees.and personally I would say it’s safer for me to handle the weights with the sleeves, the tendons are kept warm and tight, definitely feels better than before I had them
How did you determine which size to get? I figure I’ll just get the same thickness you have.
sizing chart on the site recommends taking a measurement of the knee just below the patella and basing your size off of that, worked for me =)

just ordered them

Brutal session man. Those paused deads, are those your own creation or actually a part of Boris’ programming? I know he’s got the pull to the knee deads but haven’t seen them paused and then finished like that. Awesome shit man.
Funny I was just looking at your log last night like “damn I hope Ben updates soon, missing this dudes awesome vids!” And wouldya look at this hahahaha. Great work bud!

Thanks brother! I’ve done the paused deads both ways and definitely prefer finishing the rep after, boris didn’t specify in the programming I have but I like doing them with the finish pull. I that someone on youtube suggested that I finish the pull and I agreed haha

haha glad that I could provide! posting has been nearly impossible because of RA training (I have still been working out and filming, but editing the videos and doing the write ups has just been too time consuming to handle) good news is that at least on deads and bench I’m almost back to where I was =) squats will get there eventually
Is that you in the background?
Saw this on CFFB’s site and remembered you did the Strongest Apple fairly recently
Just found my favorite log. Awesome shit man keep it up.

Appreciate it brother!
So ben whats your current total?
I had a 1615 Gym total from a mach meet that I did the week before I left for Europe, no wraps and a close grip long paused bench. I plan on hitting 1700+ Raw as a true 198 at my meet on Oct. 15th here’s a video of the mach meet so you can decide yourself whether the lifts were legit or not
Sick vid as always. Man your pulls are ridiculous especially at that weight!. Nice ass squats too! And good bench, I read that youve had some shoulder problems. Hopefully you can heal that up and get your bench up and youll demolish your goals. But dang that 705 pull was smooth!
Lol’d at you chalking the back of your finger tips -.- What states do you compete in?
Inspirational to say the least dude, the 705 pull looked really smooth!
Don’t know if you’d get called for it or not, but remember to lock your knees out at the top of the deadlift (just think “stand up”). Where you were holding it at the end is technically not “locked out” even though you obviously could lock it out. I know it’s stupid, but I also know I’d hate to get called for something that dumb so I thought I’d point it out.
Awesome pull (and lifting in general).
loving this log … and the knee sleeves work wonders

the finger chalking helps
I generally compete regionally around Washington/Oregon but I’ll be in Reno in Nov. for WABDL Worlds

thank you! I was very pleased with that night, I think I’m finally back to that strength level again so I’m just hoping to exhibit it at this upcoming meet

Thanks for the heads up, My knees are never bent in competition, but I notice that I do it sometimes on training, just something to keep in mind
