Yeah, a glass of wine with a meal is fine, maybe even a nice Belgian ale.
I don’t really drink anymore for health reasons and I am happy with the decision. It’s amazing to see people from a sober lens. When I go out and interact with people who’ve had even one drink, it amazes me how different everything seems, and I never used to drink to get drunk.

Having lived in Europe, I think there is not so much of a difference in drinking cultures. People try to drug themselves into oblivion everywhere. Having access to quality booze from a younger age means that people there are more likely to drink for an enjoyment other than that of being utterly shitfaced. Personally a glass of good whisky makes me happier than a bottle of cheep vodka. [/quote]
Think about how drunk people get in countries where alcohol is banned for all.
I also used to drink, just getting serious about strength training. Have wanted to stop for awhile, all I had to do to decide to back off was to read this article on our very own T-Nation:
Spot the Fake!
Seven True Studies, Plus One We Made Up!
by RJ Elsing
Read it! very motivating to give up the booze in honor of our quest for glory i.e. the perfect body!
I don’t drink. Just when the socal situation calls for it. Like Christmas dinner. Or midnight on NY’s. I am in clubs and bars weekly. I have lots of friends who drink. I think they are really funny to watch get drunk. But I never really like it. I did lots of drugs and drinking when I was young. Now it just doesn’t appeal to me anymore. Its been 12 years since I quit being intoxicated on the regular. I don’t miss it.
