Who Hates Fat People?

I think a big problem for alot of people, including myself is eating out of habit. If i have alot of food in front of me i can systematically pick it up and start eating then think to myself…why am i eating? im not hungry. Eating very quickly doesnt help either.

I’ve gotten passed that, Though this past week while i had a nasty sinus infection wasnt good im back into my regular diet and exercise, I think i need something new for lunch… im begining to hate turkey lol

I dont care about people who can live atleast semi normally…can still participate in phsyical activity but when i see someone who is 500lbs at Big y in a U haul of a scooter i think to myself… stop eating for 5 minutes and you’ll lose 10 pounds ffs!
You cant say i try when half your day is spent with a pile of pizza on a plate munching away.

being a jerk doesnt help either though, people who are fat are usually insecure and when they hear someone saying how there a fat ass… they dont want to be skinny because they dont want to be that jackass…

It really blows my mind how many people on a bodybuilding/weight training website make excuses for lazy people. I’ve never met a fat adult who didn’t eat and live the lifestyle of a fat person. Not one. It doesn’t fucking happen. Yet people pull these crazy what-if scenarios out of the air to explain why someone should be fat. I don’t dislike fat people, but I don’t pretend there isn’t a reason for their fatness. It’s no accident.
Nobody is making excuses.

It is just that I do not expect all people to walk, talk and think like me.

Nobody needs to make or have an excuse for not sharing my priorities.

Since I am also convinced that being fat is about as infectious as “the ghey” I treat it the same way.

Their life, their choice, who cares.

Personally I think most of the time it’s emotions like contempt and disgust being confused as hate. I doubt there are many people who actually hate someone for being fat.

I’ll agree with that.

There are a few people who are trying hard to get back in shape, and we must all appreciate their efforts.

I’m Fat and I see alot of different posts on the forums involving fat people and how much people hate them, I was just wondering why?

I’m very good at sports, Ive been asked to join more than one school team (football, wresting, ultimate frisbee ect…)

Is it because people think I’m lazy because im fat… Btw i hate twinkes and I dont eat alot of junk food… I eat alot of regular food. fast food most of the time is once a month or not at all…summer maybe 5 or 6 times
I have NO idea. There’s a lot of hatred on these forums really, not just towards fat people. Just because someone doesn’t have the same goals as you, fitness or otherwise, doesn’t mean people should go around despising them, yet that seems to be the general attitude here.

You can be dedicated to any number of activities in life, not just fitness, and I’m sure plenty of overweight people are devoted to things that are important to them, and wouldn’t hate us just because we’re dedicated to something different.

I think the general profile of the memebers on this particular site are interested in bodybuilding, powerlifting, or some aspect of high performance sports conditioning. At risk of offending some people, I’d venture to say that being ‘fat’ is pretty much the opposite of what the majority of people on here strive for. I don’t think it’s ever a personal “I hate that fat guy”, but more of a “man, I never want to look like that”, which in all honesty, isn’t a terrible thing (it’s one of my own motivations).

That’s not to say that someone who is ‘fat’ cannot be athletic (heck, I LOOK athletic, but will make no claims to actually being an athlete!), but in the majority of cases, being excessively heavy isn’t conducive to anything positive performance wise.

I’ve been on this site since they redid the member registry back in '01 or '02 (so I had to reregister on from the original site), and I can’t say I see a ton of ‘hate’ on here. What I do see, and maybe it’s the wisdom of being around for a while (training 14+ years now), is a lot of younger guys (mostly guys) who probably have their buddies telling them how huge they are, and then they pop on here asking for a ‘critique’ and when they get it, it shatters their little bubble. I’m by no means a “fatty”, but at the moment, I’m what you could call 'bodybuilder fat". It all comes down to your peer group, and on this site, the goals and aspirations are pretty lofty, and a lot of newbies aren’t ready for that degree of scrutiny.

We should all take things with a grain of salt, and consider where they’re coming from. If I ever said “damn, I’m getting fat” around any of my non-training friends, they’d think I was insane. If I said I was looking diesel at my gym, everyone would point out the little pudge I’ve got going since an injury last month. I think that sums everything up nicely -lol

I actually try not to hate anyone, or let what anyone does with themselves get to me. We are only here for a finite amount of time and that makes each moment a bit too important to be bothered by what others do.

I did say I try not to hate, but even when I fail, I try to keep my hate directed at those that deserve it, dictators, child molesters, the IRS, you get the picture.

Speaking of pictures…

‘Making excuses’ was a bad way to phrase what I was trying to convey. I guess it just seems to me like some, even on T-Nation, in this thread, continue looking for some other mystery variable affecting why some are fat, as if calories in/out isn’t the real reason. I’ve been fat, I now understand there’s no secret. I think I wrote a post to Stronghold in an eerily similar thread; I really don’t care what a person chooses to do/not do. I just hope they can stomach the cause and effect that goes along with it.

I find the worst crowd are the slightly chubby, male officer workers.

you know the ones…they think they are the shiz, but they have just a hint of man boob…they have incredibly bad posture, and eat bacon rolls every morning.
BUT they do go out and play football once a week and maybe go for a run once a fortnight…usually starting the run from work…I wonder how long they hang around outside the building waiting for a collegue to ‘happen’ upon them exercising.

they arent obese, they arent fit…but they were the top of the food chain until i came to the office.

Now they are the toxic ones…the ones that are mired in mediocrity and threatened by someone who can stand up straight and has a V shaped torso.

They cant comprehend why i eat nothing but meat and veg and why i turn down dougnuts.

I am i too good for the way they eat and exercise? …yes.

Do they know this?..yes.

Do they try and pull me down with them?..yes.

Do i let them?..no.

basically my point is - most ‘fat’ people know exactly what they are.

its the ‘overweight and in denial’ crowd that earns my disdain.

I HATE fat women, and fat fucking dudes who wear skull caps, and drink alot, and usually their only accopmlishment in life is talking shit on fighters in the UFC while holding some trivial position in a piece of shit fraternity.

Worst of all alot of the time they think they are “big” guys, but man…I don’t consider you a big guy, unless you’re like a highland games fucker, then you’re a big guy.

Most of these dude’s couldn’t even make a pos rugby team.

I hate fat people. I actually hate them, like I’ll ignore fat girls that try to talk to me. Why? Because in my mind, it shows that you just don’t care enough about yourself to lose the fat. That’s poor character. And if you don’t care about yourself, why would you care about other people?

Blaming it on anyone but yourself is also bullshit. How many fat people were around 100 years ago? Not too many, and only a small minority of these people could blame it on genetics.

On the other hand, if you truly try to lose weight, and you cant’ (or can) i have a ton of respect for you. I know a kid in High School that weighed 310. He joined football, wrestling, and track, and worked HARD at all of them. The entire wrestling season he couldn’t wrestle because the highest weight class was 285. Nevertheless he came to all the practices.
In the end, he ended up not losing any weight. I could be pessimistic and blame it on his diet, but I’m not going to.

I don’t have a problem with guys into body building and weight lifting, because bulking up is a natural (sometimes abused) process for people.

And also I fucking hate fat girls who think they’re hot. It’s called being slutty. And as someone once said, there’s guys out there just as horny as you are ugly. Fat people who think they’re not fat is by far the worst category, though.

When I was in 8th grade I weighed 230 lbs lol. I weight 200 now. I was a porker, I went out for wrestling and dropped to 160.

Maybe they are just jealous of the fact that you are so humble

humble?

is that something that you put on top of an apple pie?

why would someone concerned with modesty be posting in a forum complaining about fat people?

And the point was not regarding jealousy.

It was instead that they cant put 2 and 2 together.

“why doesnt he have moobs and a gut like me?.. I know, instead of asking him what hes doing that im not, ill wait until someone does ask for advice and then snicker in the background or even authoritatively spout crap about how cardio is the way to lose fat, because thats what has so obviously kept me leaner than the middle aged women i work with.”

Uh, this wouldn’t be a generalization eh? I’ll go out on a limb and guess that you’ve got a personal issue here -lol

I tend to forget that there are a lot of college age people on here, and as such, I’ve seen several posts regarding those bad bad fraternities. Dude, when you go on a rant about such a generalization, you show how small you indeed are. There are many others, in addition to myself, that were in fraternities (I held a ‘trivial position’ as well). And while you’re probably beneath most of these people’s notice (most people have their own things to worry about, and whatever BS is going on in your own head is your own concern), you’re wasting valuable time you could be bettering yourself.

I certainly don’t define myself as an ex-frat guy. True, I kept my paddle, and official placard (or whatever the hell that certificate thing is called). It was important to me at the time, and I like to rememeber that. While I’ve moved well beyond my college years, were someone to badmouth any of my ‘brothers’ (the ones I truly consider friends), I would crack your head open little man.

Lol, I just felt like being a dick.

To be honest though, most people that I have come across who mention how certain people are threatened by them are actually just completely deluded about how they are really perceived by others. I am not trying to claim that this is the case with you though.

I hate two kinds of fat people,

 1. The patently obese, because frankly it’s disturbing to look at and they’re literally killing themselves with their lifestyle.

 2. People who have what me and my friends have termed “fat aggression” people who are pissed off at the world because they are fat. Yeah they get treated unfairly by a lot of folks, even you and me, but if you’re pissed about it don’t just be a dick to everyone because your life sucks. Get pissed and do something about it. Phoenix Theory…

All the rest are okay, but would we prefer it if they were in shape? Well I think we’d all be lying if we said no. Unless you really don’t want more stripped down lean body mass around as competition for the opposite sex, in which case, that’s just selfish.

I hate the people who keep losing and gaining the same 5 lbs over and over again. They always seem to be losing 5 lbs, but never actually show any change (Ben and Jerry must see to that), and they always need to tell everyone who’ll listen how they lost the 5 lbs.
