I have a picture of my dobie in my profile. I’ve received many PMs from other members who have dobermans too. Just wondering how many T-Nation readers have these GREAT dogs.
Here is mine…Rousso. Three year old male and just the greatest dog ever. 95 lb. lap dog, great with kids, protective and ‘a leaner’…

I’ve had a few dobie’s over the years.
My first and arguably the most awesome was Sam. Not sure on his weight but he was huge. Much bigger than average. And without a doubt, mans best friend.
My eldest daughter when she was maybe two years old would crawl up to him and attempt to bite his ears and grab the stump of his tail. She’d hang off his neck and crawl off with whatever he was trying to eat at the time. He’d just look up as if to say “will somebody get her to leave me alone?”
He’d go wander in to my larder where I always kept a big bag of dried pig ears for him - and he’d instead lift a potato out of another sack and take it through to my living room where he’d lie in front of the open fire and eat it.
Mad as toast, soft as a brush. I miss him big time even now but I have such fond memories.
Rousso looks awesome - don’t you find though that when they sit on you or try to get in bed in the middle of the night, they have the most bony legs! Never notice it at other times until they are trying to get comfy on the settee beside you!

Seems a lot of people on this site have Pit bulls also, another great dog.
My family never had a doberman but some neighbors did. They were very fun and pleasant animals. Best dog I’ve ever had was a female German Shepherd. Not sure what’ll be my first dog when I’m done with college. I definately like the bigger breeds though.
Oh just remembered back in the day every year in KC they had this race…I believe it was called the Dog Trot. This one guy and his two dobermans won the race every year by a huge gap.

when I was little like real little I remember we had 2 of them

well one of them my parents say it was clyde but one of them,everytime I would try running to the fence towards the end of the yard he would snatch me up by my pants and drag me back to the porch.
my parents trained him to make me stay on the porch but not to hurt me.
so here I am about 3 or so being carried by this dog by the seat of my pants kicking,screaming and crying the whole time.
was a great dog
we then raised rotties and I have a great dane now and a lab/chow mix
the dane has been the best dog ever shes about 200 pounds and shes a leaner too but very gental.
sadly shes come towards the end of her life though shes about 12 now.
We have a mini-pin named riot

I’ve had 2 dobbies. The current one is a red that looks a lot like OP’s. Love the natural ears. Mine crosses his legs just like that first picture. Too funny. Can’t you just hear them talk to you?
Ive had a German Shepard… she was hand fed by her owners when she was born and was really sweet… she got run over after 2 months 
Ive also had a German Shepard\roit and he was cool… smart but wouldnt stop barking and he was kind of rough… would get your arm in his mouth and play tug of war… not really biting… my parents brought him to the pound afew months later… I saw him in the local paper… his new name was Rocky
I have cats now… they dont get hit by cars when they dont go outside and they dont bark whenever they’re left alone outside. one is named Smokey and the other is zeak
No, but I have 2 miniature pinschers.
They THINK they’re big Dobies though!
