I am fighting the war right now. I am truly leaning towards Christianity but the wickedness has me in its grips. For that reason, I consider myself as of late “BLUE BLOOD” or Christian of the Gothic lifestyle…
However this documentary is definitely messing up my thoughts and views on it all.
its called The Vampires of Consciousness (Go Figure right?). It can be seen on Youtube, there are 22 parts really long but very interesting.
Prof X or anyone else, wanna watch this and discredit it for me?
I can’t believe evolution based on the second law of thermodynamics; entropy increases over time. If you do not believe that, then you are saying that the greatest living physicist, Stephen Hawking, is incorect in agreeing with this. To question this man seems completely ignorant.[/quote]
I’m sorry, but this is a horribly ignorant statement. The second law only applies to a CLOSED SYSTEM. Earth is a semi-open system, that has one HELL of an energy source constantly pouring energy into it.
Just because we get to treat jars and petri dishes like closed systems in High School Bio doesn’t mean you can use that logic to “disprove” evolution, or even to make an argument against it.
I absolutely believe in god and I am a practicing Christian. one of the major problems with religion today is people claim a religion they arnt really a part of and people in their lives use them as an example of how Christians or people of any other religion act so it can be a very negative thing.

It seems that there have been alot of discussions on evolution/creation lately and it also seems that the majority of T-Nation leans towards evolution.
I’m not interested in a debate of who’s right or wrong I’m just interested in who believes that God created us and his son Jesus came and died on the cross for our sins so that if we believe in Him and trust in Him for salvation that you will go to heaven.
Just curious.

Do you believe that Christianity is the only faith worth believing in?
pfff there are a lot of “gods”, the most popular are jehiva, budha and allah… but the existence and power of a god depends on how many people believe in it. For example the christian god is very powerful because a lot of ppl believe in him and are sure he is real, the same with musslims. But Zeus, has no believers now, and that is why its called Mythology.
I see that believers try to justify their beliefs giving us some evidence, some theories with a lot of holes… what do they use to cover that holes??? faith.

Yes you can:
One day people will learn about Christian and Muslim mythology, too. That’s not to say that there most certainly isn’t some form of a higher being, but organised religion in general has a lot of bad sides to it too.
There’s religion and then there’s a God. Big difference IMO.
I’m not religious at all (and am flabbergasted that people throw logical thinking out the window for faith).
As for God? I don’t know, no one knows. And to say that you know is a bit odd.
I’m open to the possibility of a higher being, but I don’t like how if you don’t believe apparently you’re going to hell. Way to scare people into believing what you want.
Great movie for anyone interested in this topic is Religulous. Kind of a documentary exploring/ exposing religions. Thought provoking for sure. I think Christ was a guy. I was raised Buddhist, and have adopted those principles in to my adult life. It’s more of a philosophy than a religion.

I have noticed that a lot of people that go to church and pray lead happy and successful lifes. Some may have awful things happen to them, but they prevail in the end.
That doesn’t mean that I believe in a wonderland that we go to when we die (It doesn’t mean I don’t either).
I believe however, that this shows us it is very important to have faith in something, that encourages you to be good, strong willed and prevail through what comes at you in life.
I will never argue with someone that god isn’t real, because he is, for those who believe in him - he gives them strength and faith in times when they need it most.
God isn’t a man in the sky, he is, or it is, an idea of a greater good that gives more meaning to life. Alot of people miss that point.
I don’t go to church or physically and openly pray to god, but I do ‘seek forgiveness or approval’ from him in the privacy of my mind - Something perhaps I should do more often.
