Having a bad day or are you always this much of a bitch?

I’m a vet too. Just left the VA hospital. Get the fuck over it.

Is this ‘get the fuck over it’ some inside fucking joke? I know you fucking are. I said that because she asked a question about what I’ve done lately and if I was a vet. I don’t even know what this has to do with the original post. I never implied that she she should jump on a god damn grenade to be be honored. I never boasted about a single thing I’ve done personally. I am making NO COMPARISON to anything with the military and I made that clear. I’ll type slower next time so everyone can understand. Damn, that really pushed a button.

Oh now, I have issues? Yet you responded to my first post by throwing insult first. Seemed like you were the one who didn’t get his cock sucked for 42 days. You want to act childish, I’ll act childish with you.

And I’m not your fucking sister, asshole.

Some vets don’t have a problem with the flags being lowered for WH. You had an issue with it. Get the fuck over with it.

And yeah, I am a bitch. Don’t forget that from now on.

The entertainment industry has always been shady. If you manage to make any money at all, you better save it because public opinion can change…pretty much just like this.

It’s sad, but it does seem that in America, we LOVE creating stars just so we can rip them apart later.

Not one person in the year 1985 could have ever predicted Micheal Jackson being seen in the public eye the way he was in 2010. He went from ruling the world to being a social outcast.

Similar here.

People in general are not loyal and are not truly looking for the “other guy” to make it. If that guy does make it, there will be thousands cheering when he falls.

Michael Jackson was exploited from the start. I truly believe he was innocent of all charges because no parent is going to accept an out-of-court settlement after their child is abused. They’d want his head on a platter. Unfortunately, he was a kid in a man’s body and never developed that filter against people trying to screw him over…

really? as a foreigner living in the country for the last 16 years I count Americans among the best people I know. scratch that, they are the best people I know and I visited/lived in quite a few countries. I see Americans as always rooting for the underdog and when things go wrong most give 2,3 or more chances for you to make it right.

Americans are also very honest with their opinion and when asked they will give it to you straight. I happen to like that a lot. wastes no time. Another thing about them is that they hate wasted opportunity. I believe that with Whitney it is simply annoying to see someone who had talent, money, fame, looks and a host of opportunities, simply throw it all away by marrying a guy who had 6 kids with as many different women and by starting to do drugs with that fool.

I think it strikes a never because Americans often work so hard for so little and to see someone who has so much throw it all away is hard to deal with. Not saying I am an expert on Americans but those are my observations.

Michael, and I was a fan, MADE himself an outcast and was unrecognizable in the end. And sleeping with kids not his own? Insert a “bitch please” picture here. Doesn’t mean he did anything sexually with them but dude, that is stupid! Most of my white friends were very quit about it but my black friends collectively ripped him several new assholes for years! he was the ultimate crossover star and adored equally among black, yellow, brown and white and then he does that shit?. He fell from grace because of his behavior involving kids as well as his addiction to plastic surgery. Nobody wanted to tear him apart but when kids are involved do you really expect anything else?

I don’t think Americans purposely want to tear someone down after they lift them up. It’s just that when idols mess up it seems to really hurt those who are fans. Perhaps what you can say about Americans is that they are too invested in their idols and cannot really handle one of them falling.

Now the Brits…

Maybe it is a matter of degrees.

I see many people “hating” because some guy has a better car than them…or because they make more money, have a better looking girlfriend and things like that. Yeah, they root for the underdog…until the underdog isn’t under anymore. Once he’s on top, here come the haterz.

Everyone supposedly LOVED Dave Chappelle…but the reality is, if he had stuck around, equal amounts would have been calling him OVERrated within a year. He knew that shit too.

I don’t think that’s a jaded perspective either.

I handled the coverage element of the first claim against him while I was working for Transamerica in the early 90’s and therefore had access to and reviewed dozens of depositions. I will only say that I do not share your opinion that he was innocent.

I will also tell you that everyone has a price even if you think you don’t. At the end of the day, there are considerations other than money, that affect directly whether you do indeed have a price - especially with a molestation case and the embarrassment and publicity that goes with it (for both accuser and accused).

In many settlements, money has no real relation to the wrong. It’s a complex process driven by the relative risk of each party.

Ha

I can’t speak for the world, but the American public is fickle. And this shouldn’t be shocking. If you’re going to be famous, you better have thick skin. To be adored, and to be hated, simply goes with the territory. However, I have seen both Whitney AND Michael (to name but two) get the benefit of the doubt time and time again. To this day, loyalist want to blame Bobby Brown, as if he shoved some shit up her nose, she had no self-control or free will - like he was the “pusher man”. People were rooting for her heavily to make a come-back. It wasn’t as if she stumbled once or twice, she completely failed. And even then, I do not think she experience much “hate” - more like sadness. You can’t confuse “hate” for people using her death, and the media coverage, to advance their own agenda. Any sane person knows her death, and how it is covered, honored or otherwise, has no relation to soldiers overseas. People with an agenda are using it. That’s not “hate” - that’s opportunism.

MJ got the benefit of the doubt more than he deserved and until the end, he had loyalist that would give their lives to his defense that he was some innocent man/child that liked to play with children b/c he never had a childhood.

We can’t deny the mob mentality to tear someone down - it’s a wonder ANYONE can get elected in this country. But I do find we give our heroes and icons many chances to fail. I do find we overlook many warts.

Jacko didn’t have a childhood to speak of. He was thrust into the spotlight from an early age and attempting to fill that void as an adult fed into his obsession with cosmetic surgery and kids. If any of the child abuse allegations were true, then he would have ended up in jail. It would have only taken one set of parents to refuse a pay-off.

If all the accusations were true, then the parents are scum for choosing money over justice.

you obviously didn’t read my post about the first claim.

and choosing “money over justice” is sometimes choosing one alternative over a less pleasant alternative. justice has a price and it has a downside for alleged victims - especially victims of abuse.

or would you want yourself or your children to be forever known as that guy that got his cock sucked by MJ?

Slippery slope. Not agreeing or disagreeing with you. I can see your point BUT difficult to say what the attorneys of the parents told them. Not easy to convict a man with the popularity and power of Michael Jackson, not to mention what some of the more zealous fans might do if he was convicted. A lot of parents would just want this shit to go away and would not want their kid to relive it during a trial, especially if they are not sure they can get a convinction. And these were not the most stable families to begin with. It is not right, and if it had happened to my son he would have gone to jail but I can see some people taking the money. It is still a scummy thing to do, I agree with you, but I can see it.

The rich and famous get away with shit we can’t. You drive under the influence and see what happens. Paris? a few hours in jail. Halle Barry, hit and run? slap on the fucking wrist. OJ? you can go on and on. Although Martha Stewart had to go for a while…

EDIT: ah, I see Bodyguard addressed this as well and he truly makes a good point. Come to think of it, would I want my son to be known for having had sexual relations with Michael Jackson? That’s going to hound him for a long time. Being abused by a nameless, faceless pervert is one thing, but a famous one? Especially one as famous as MJ? Difficult situation, really difficult.

Regarding the flag thing: I don’t understand why people are so easily offended. Why does this rise to the level of outrage for some?

Get over yourselves.

That post wasn’t there when I was reading through the thread. Assuming the cock sucking episode is true and not an addition of your own to underline your point, then I would certainly want said cock sucker to be punished in a manner that he would consider due punishment and for every body to know about his cock suckery just to stop it from happening to anybody else’s kids - especially when it’s someone as famous as M.J.

So if you knew that famous face had abused your son, would you allow him to pay his way out or would you expose him and make sure the fucker goes down? This “sparing the child” argument doesn’t wash with me because all the families had the option of withholding the kids’ identities. They were all minors during the time of the alleged assaults, right?
