Whiteflash's Get Stronger and Faster Log

Still feel like shit. Jumped on the scale to check the damage, and it wasn’t as bad as I feared: 169.5lbs. Appetite’s still pretty low, but hopefully I can be back over 170lbs by the weekend. I start my new job manana, so I gotta rest all day and hope for the best by 8:00 a.m. Depending on how things play out, I plan on starting Phase 1 week 1 over on Sunday or Monday. Ya’ll be good.

Craziness! Man I hope you get back to 100% soon bro! But at least you got some cookies out of the deal!

Get better bro!

Ha! Dude, after the second round of apple juice and hundred calorie pack’o’cookies I was ready for a nap and my blanky. I wish someone had a camera when the ol’ heart attack bomb was dropped. Pretty sure I was rockin’ the mid-shit face… Thanks brother, be easy.

Damn dude, sorry to hear

Wow! That’s crazy! I hope you’re okay and you can get back to your routine soon. Sounds like tonight’s a good night for relaxing and enjoying the game.

Thanks man. In the grand scheme of things it’s not that big a deal. Gonna [try to] grub and rest and see what happens this weekend. Start work manana so that should be interesting. More worried that summer school’s 5 weeks and I’ve missed 4 days of the first week. Fortunately I got a hospital release form and dropped it on my two profs and let 'em know what’s up on Wednesday. Be easy homey.

Thanks man. It’s been an interesting past few days to say the least… My girl rented my bloody valentine [it came with 3-d glasses!] for us so after the game we’re gonna check that out.

feel better dude!

Thanks bro.

Had the day off from work, so all I had to do was go to school, rest and get my first workout since the viral infection. Got hom a bit after noon, took a long ass nap, got up about 2:15 grubbed, and right before I left for the gym… Yak city!!! Sucked, but knew I needed to go lift so sucked it up [that was inadvertantly gross] and hit it. Here it goes…

Bench-95x10,135x8,185x5,225x5x3

B1]Cable rows-90x10,180x4x10

B2]Db inc-80’sx3x10,9,9

C1]Db curls-30’sx3x10

C2]Scap wall slides-3x12 + bnbp’s-3x12

Damn. Knew I’d be weak, but wasn’t expecting this. 2 plates was HEAVY. Throwing up before probably didn’t help. Not gonna follow a set program, just gonna do some kind of upper/lower and eat 'til I get my strength and weight back. Ya’ll be easy.

So you restarting next week?
gabex wrote:

Man, think I’m just gonna lift and eat 'til I get some strength back. At the start of the program I was using 235 pretty easily for the 5x4 on week 1 upper, and yesterday 225 was heavy for triples. Once I get my strength back to those levels again I’ll do the program, but right now I feel like I’d be starting from a deficit. I figure within a month or so I should be back. It’s crazy if you think about it: all the progress I’ve made in the last 4 months was completely erased over a few days. Yesterday was the weakest I’ve been in years. Really gay, but them’s the breaks.

Flash, sorry to hear about your illness, praying for your recovery. Hope you are getting better. Man, the Lakers looked good in the Finals, Kobe cementing his legacy. That’s funny what you said about Rubio being overrated, Brandon Jennings went off on him on how overrated he is haha. Draft in a couple of weeks, who are your Rockets looking to get?

So just got back from the pool with some friends. I’m sure most of ya’ll have seen the video of the football player jumping frrom the shallow end of the pool onto the edge of the concrete. My buddy dared me that I couldn’t, and being the genius that I am I told him I could.

So, I get next to the lip of the pool, jump with just about everything I have, have my toes hit the lip, slide off and smash and scrape both my shins as I slide down back into the shallow end. Had to sit in the pool for a few minutes ‘cause I felt nauseous. Both of my shins are swollen, bruised and scraped pretty good, and my buddies thought it was one of the funniest things they’d ever seen. We’re going back next week and I’m gonna fuckin’ do it.

vid or it didn’t happen! Just kidding bro, sorry to hear about that. I’ve though about that, like how hard it would be…Must have been pretty tough if you couldn’t get out of the water! I’d probably just look like a monkey humping a pool toy…

Props for trying though brother!

Toes got out, but ass and heels stayed submerged. Gonna give it a shot whenever we can round up the time. Still need help on getting vids up, or puting them on youtube or whatever.
Technique Danielson, don’t lift toes if Ass is not at water, you will never make it up and you will be hurt. That way even if you miss you won’t be hurt.

Thanks man, I’m getting there. Kobe’s gotta be universally considered as top 10 now. When and what did Jennings say? That is funny. I really don’t know what the Rockets are trying to do on any level. Changes need to be made though, that’s for sure.

Ha, probably sage advice. Thanks for the heads up.

I’m pretty sure that Kobe was already top 10 universally because he didn’t do a whole lot differently these playoffs than he did in the last playoffs. Take a look:

2008 Kobe (21 games): 30.1 pts, 5.7 reb, 5.6 ast, 3.3 TO, 22.0 FGA, 9.2 FTA, 47.9 FG%, 81 FT%, 30 3FG%, 41.1 MPG.
2009 Kobe (23 games): 30.2 pts, 5.3 reb, 5.5 ast, 2.6 TO, 23.0 FGA, 8.6 FTA, 45.7 FG%, 88 FT%, 35 3FG%, 40.9 MPG.

Impressive, but nearly identical. Read into this as you may, but I believe that he is essentially the same exact player as he was last year and that these finals shouldn’t catapult him much farther in the rankings than he was already.

Take your time recovering, but you have muscle memory on your side. With food and rest you should be good. Best of luck

That’s what I’m hoping for man. Realizing I shouldn’t rush anything, just kinda enjoy myself in getting back into the swing of things. Kick ass on your max days brother. Be easy.

In my eyes he’s been top 10 since the early 2000’s, and now I’d probably have to put him top 5, but he gets alot of hate in “all-time” discussions. I don’t see how the hate can continue now. He’s the second best backcourt player in history behind Jordan.
