Doesn’t matter if his vertical went to 52 the Pacers will shut his ass down lol
Pacers crew, checking in.
Pacers were better than the Heat the last two years, but Stern didn’t invest all that time, money and energy in James to have him fail. There’s a reason he’s called “The Chosen One”, and it has little to do with basketball.
Hahaha your LeBron hate is always entertaining… But to be fair, he really has transford his game over the past few seasons. The guy is the best player in the game these days and you know I’m a die hard Lakers/Kobe guy.
How? His post game still sucks, he’s still predictable off the bounce (go left: pull up jumper. Go right: bull his way to the rack. No matter what:ref bailout), he’s still suspect from deep and doesn’t handle heavy contact well, which is one of the reasons we’ve NEVER seen him dunk on a bigger player. Without ref favoritism he’s a 22/5/5 guy. But since he’s infallible in the eyes of Stern, he’s a 28/8/7 guy.
Hahaha he’s the best man. He just is. I was a LeBron hater as much as anyone back in the day because of his shrinking away in the post season and his on the court antics/wanting to be liked by everyone but over the last two years he’s really changed.

He doesn’t shrink away in the big moment, he’s kind of taken a “you don’t like me? F you then” Attitude and I like that. He’s not the same guy he used to be. His post game is much improved and so is his outside shooting. I remember when all he would do is put his head down and run people over to get foul calls (definite stern favoritism back then) but now when guys slink off he knocks em down from outside.

Do you think Kobe will be back by Christmas? I bet that’s the date he has set to come back.

We’re just gonna have to disagree on James.

I was actually gonna ask you about Bryant. Completely out of the loop and haven’t heard anything. With what he went through, that’d be nuts.

So far there isn’t really a time table for his return but I would imagine he’s eyeballing Christmas Day. That’s always a big game in LA and could you imagine if that was his return game? So much hype and media coverage. Everyone would be watching and he would love it lol

We’ll see though. You know how Kobe is, he’s going as hard as possible with rehab and getting treatment so that he can come back and prove everyone wrong. He was pretty pissed about where ESPN ranked him for this years players.

Where’d they rank him? Got a couple of buds that play fantasy league and think they said he’s like 40th there. That’s fucking crazy to me. Obviously that’s a potential career ending injury, but that’s Kobe Bryant. About a month ago, read something where he said that if the playoffs were to start right then, he’d be ready. Dude’s a G.

I think they put him 25th.

I just heard that rose took that year off and brought his vert up from 37 to 42. Good thing he sat out lolololol
Wanted to add that Rose posted a 40" vert off 3 steps at the NBA combine. This is widely available information, yet ESPN - with its fantastic reporters and no nonsense journalism - fucked it up. The amount of bullshit spewed by the media for the sake of sensationalism is appalling.

I know. Every guy at the combine has a 40 inch vert, even the O Line lol

How bout them Lakers? Take that Clippers… LA still belongs to the Lake Show.

Haha, don’t get me started on bullshit vert numbers. …Who’s the Lakers starting 5 right now? You see Rose last night? I’m tellin’ y’all, he’s a couple steps slower.

I didn’t catch the game cause I was in class so I don’t even know who was starting but the bench went off! 79 points I think?

DiAntoni left the reserves in for the last couple minutes of the 3rd and then the entire 4th cause they were on a roll. They blew out the Clippers starters in the 4th. Really balanced scoring all along.

I know it’s Gasol, Nash, Nick Young but I’m not sure who else without looking it up.

I didn’t catch any of the Bulls game either but if imagine that he’s slower. How do you go from being one of the most exosive players in the entire league, get MAJOR knee surgery that keeps you out for 5 years and then come back MORE explosive? Lol WUT

The NBA draft combine is a bigger joke than the NFL combine

Need to find ideal lighting 'cause this washes out most of the veins and stiations, but you can still see I’m fairly lean.

Oh yeah, that pic was completely unpumped. Wanted to take a few more pumped but the gym started getting busy and didn’t feel like being “that guy”. Now that I think I figured out how to post pics, I’ll get more up later.

I normally grab a couple of beers a coupla’ times a week, but this past week the train went of the rails. Had two company Halloween party’s and another beach shindig, and got shit canned at all three (and went home with different randoms on two of those three). So, my sleep and nutrition was slightly lacking… Despite that, been having awesome sessions. Did a “heavy” upper tonight and took this pic after my benching. My gym selfie game still needs work, but this Iis a li’l better than the last pic. Obviously unflexed. Took several flexing but was shakin’ like a leaf and they all came out blurry. IlI’ll work that out and put some up soon. Y’all be good.

I got pretty involved in beach vball for a few years after was done with college ball, and there was this completely accepted fact that Jason Ring had a 50" standing vert. Now, the dude could fucking fly(legitimately measured 44), which is part of how it just got accepted that he must have some absurdly high VJ, but it’s still hilarious.

It’s just completely binary, you either know someone(or are someone) with a ridiculous vert that has been measured so you know how crazy high 30’s and legit 40 jumps are, or you don’t and you will fall prey to the hype until you are informed.

More on thread topic: you look a good amount more solid than the last time I remember you throwing up a shirtless pic, especially in the shoulders.

That’s exactly it. A true running vert in the high 30’s is getting up, especially when the person in question is 6’5"+. I remember at my peak I could dunk 2 hands from a standstill and had a pretty deep bag of tricks and one gym I frequented I got crowned “50” as in 50" vert. Thing is, don’t think I was ever measured above a 43" and change, and that’s off the run. A true 40" is getting up, and anything above a 44" is freakish. The average person has no concept of just how high that is.

Did you enjoy beach volleyball? There’s actually a couple leagues here in Houston that a couple buddies have done and they love it. They also said there’s a retarded amount of good looking girls there. Might be worth checking out once I get this knee taken care of.

Thanks man. Weight’s probably only gone up 5 or so pounds, but I feel more solid as well. Been getting more and more comments and questions the last few months, so apparently something’s working.

How’re the Cavs looking? Hope they can re-sign Irving. That kid is the truth. He and Curry are probably my two favorite players to watch of the new school.

Vert numbers and Muscle gains are in the same category of oblivious inflated #'s

If you can’t dunk a cheeseburger twice a day in the hood, you’re obviously not cut out for this.

I played a ton of beach volleyball in college. I have a few friends in the area that play in leagues as well. I’m joining once this first year of hell (graduate school) ends.

Not sure if they’re doin’ it now that it’s getting cold, but have you checked out the pickup gamrs at Memorial Park? They also apparently play at the courts near Sharpstown. I haven’t been to either but the buds I mentioned earlier were all about 'em.

What gym do you go to? Sounds like we’re practically neighbors.

Yeah, weather is ridiculous. I haven’t had a chance to explore much yet. School is pretty rough right now. Like I said, as soon as I’m done with this first year, I plan on either joining a league or at least finding some pickup games.

I go to Baylor’s athletic facility. It’s on the 8th floor of one of the parking garages. Really small gym, sick weight room with nothing but free weights and a few hammer strength machines. Just got a full bumper plate set, too. They actually have pickup games of indoor volleyball, badmitton, basketball, etc.
