White Privilege

I contemplated making a new thread for this but I will post it here as its relevant.

“Amber Guyger, who is white, was off-duty when she shot Jean, a black man, after mistakenly entering his apartment at the complex where she also lived, police said Thursday.”

Now another article.

Its a tragedy that this young man lost his life. Its also a tragedy that whatever powers that are pulling the strings are trying to keep people divided and perpetuate this us vs them/ black vs white narrative.

IIRC, black slaves were counted as 3/5s for representational purposes in Congress. Still super racist. Like the bigliest racist.

It was clearly woman vs man.

I suppose a lovers quarrel doesn’t generate the same amount of ad revenue though.

How do you walk into the wrong apartment unless you’re completely fucking hammered?

I can see it happening. Sort of. But, upon entering how do you not almost immediately realize the furniture is not positioned correctly? Or for the matter, not realize it isn’t even your furniture? It sucks because she must have thought she was walking into a burglary of her home, while he must have thought he had come into contact with a burglary of his. But yeah, how does she not immediately realize it is she who is in the wrong place? Unless, yes, intoxicated. I’m curious to hear more about what she may or may not have been on.

This is the part that just doesn’t pass the sniff test.

Plus the terrifying thought of giving someone a gun and a badge but that person being so incompetent they can’t even remember where they live.

Wasn’t she in uniform?

I’m not clear on that. She obviously had her firearm available. But, she was off shift and could’ve been in civilian clothing?

This is just sad…

“Guyger called 911, turned on the lights and saw the apartment number on the front door: 1478. Her apartment is directly below, 1378.”

Wrong floor.

So is she actually only being charged with manslaughter…?

The wrong floor is almost believable. Maybe got in the elevator, hit next to the correct button, and did everything else the same.

Still, upon opening she had to have noticed the place was different, as mentioned already.

How did she open the door? Apparently, the doors open with some type of key that turns on a green light. Perhaps, the door was unlocked or open. Once she noticed that she went on the offensive.

** Also believe she was off duty but, in uniform.

What I’ve seen says the door was apparently unlocked.

That being said, there are also apparently eyewitnesses who claim they heard her knocking first.

Damn, that part escaped me.

More importantly, their parents feelings. It’s amazing how many perfect little angels have been born in the last 20 years. “My child wouldn’t smear shit on the wall!”
“Well he did.”
“You’re a liar, you just have it out for my little Johnny. I don’t see a picture of the shit.”
“It’s not our policy to take pictures of shit.”
“You have no proof it was him!”
“Well, before he went in there, there was no shit. After he went in there, there was shit. When I asked him about it, he said he smeared shit on the wall.”
“You’re a liar! He needs to be in a class with a competent teacher!”

She claims she gave the guy commands but he didn’t obey and approached her. That makes no sense. He was in his apartment so he wasn’t a burglar and she was in uniform and was pointing a gun at him. I think she entered the apartment, saw a man she thought was a burglar, panicked and just shot him without any warning.

Now taking bets that the good ole Justice System won’t go any higher than manslaughter for a murder of someone while in his own home further perpetuating the cop race problem that may or may not exist.

10:1 odds

Are there any lawyers who post here? I don’t think manslaughter is a possible charge since she meant to shoot the guy.

No way I’d bet against that.
